The purple grid feels squishy to the hand and felt fine to lay on the first week when I had it on top of my old saggy pillow top (before I could out it on the curb), but the moment I laid on it alone it was hard as a rock. I couldn't sleep on it and had to dig out my memory foam mattress topper. It's not a bad mattress by any means, but I think it works much better for a heavier/larger person or someone who prefers a firm mattress (I am 5'0" and 140lbs). I will be returning it after my 21 day trial and getting a softer memory foam. No shade on purple; it is as advertised, showed up right on time, and their return process seems very easy. Just know that if you are a smaller person or if you prefer more give, you may want to stick with memory foam or go for the purple 3.

I'm about 40 days into the trial, and I like a lot of things about this mattress. It truly does seem to relieve pressure, which is important since I've had spine surgery. It sleeps cool, and seems to provide the support I need. My partner on the other hand, is a side sleeper, and still seems to be waking up with shoulder pain. The bed is not particularly soft, so I wouldn't go in expecting that. It's firm but soft in the right places. The one issue I have is that there is still a hump through the center of the mattress, almost as if it's divided down the middle. I would expect that to have gone down after 40 days. Although I like it for the most part, I don't think this mattress will be here to stay.

I've had issues with my back that have been building over time. Our old mattress had gotten to a point I could really no longer sleep on it. I was regularly sleeping on the couch or anywhere that was comfortable. At several points I was sleeping on the floor on a rug as it was the best place I could find relief to sleep for a few hours. We bought a matress from a new company. It was fine for my back, but it wasn't the most comfortable. I could at least sleep in a bed again. But due to major issues with the furniture that was sold with the mattress, everything including the mattress was eventually returned. This was a blessing in disguise. We needed to find a new mattress quickly, and some friends recommended the purple mattress. Given the great trial period and return policy, we gave it a shot. So glad we did. As a side sleeper, I find the bed incredibly comfortable. And even better, my back issues have mostly gone away save for the occasional flare up unreleated to sleeping. I'm getting better sleep than I've gotten in a long time. So happy we purchased. As long as they keep making them this way, I'll keep buying.

So my husband and I needed a new bed. We had been tossing around getting a Purple bed for awhile, so we ordered on king size. Everything came right away and set up nicely. Great bed what you first lay on it, but to sleep on it I wake up feeling like I slept on the floor all night. This bed ended up being way firmer then I had expected it to be. Granted my hip pain has gone away but now I have this serious back pain... I'm 23 this should not be a huge problem for me yet, but it is. That being said my husband loves it, he sleeps like a rock and wakes up feeling great, but he also likes firmer beds. I find myself sleeping on our couch or guest bed. I cant sleep with my husband to this bed. I don't care what the commercial says or anything this bed is firm. I wish we had never got it.

I bought this bed for my husband! He has sciatica, extremely painful back pain that runs down his leg..and every morning before work he had to stretch on the floor because his back ached so badly. Since day one this bed has been a blessing! He has not needed to stretch in the morning! He is a new man because of the comfort and sleep he gets now. No complaints from me either. I normally sleep on my left side due to constant pain on my right. I was very surprised to be able to sleep on either side with no pain from pressure. I would definitely recommend this bed!

This is the best investment you can make for your health. 6-8 hours a day in the same spot. Why not buy a better mattress? So I did. And I love it. I used to sweat and wake up often but, that's no more. My sleep apnea has also decreased its severity. Honest opinion, it's worth it. Just buy it, you'll thank yourself.

I originally bought this mattress for my daughters house for when I stayed over. Loved the mattress. Had the best sleep ever. When we moved into our new house I purchases another one for a spare bedroom. Recently purchased the 3rd one for another spare bedroom. Everyone that has come over and stayed with us has commented on how comfortable this mattress is. When it's time to replace the one in the master bedroom I will definitely buy a purple mattress. . The cost was also cheaper than what I hadpurchased in the past.

We have had our queen-size purple mattress for about a month. My wife and I, both, think it is a great mattress. But here is a little "helpful hint". When the purple "log" comes to your house, don't try to pick it up by yourself. It's too heavy for one person.

This is two reviews in one!! Bought the Purple kickstarter deal, Queen mattress w/ 2 pillows. Being hard in beds, destroying them within the first year, he has found his match!! He now can sleep ! So we just bought him the platform and a Queen mattress for me! Ahhh...do I really have to get out of bed? Soooo comfy! Yes! Highly recommend a Purple mattress!

So far the mattress seems to be well worth the cost. I have chronic back and neck problems due to IED blasts in Afghanistan and Iraq, and it helps. But if you choose this company just know that if there is a mistake made by the Purple company in your shipping the customer service is terrible to work with. They were so bad I will not recommend this company to anyone I know. But, like I said the mattress sleeps fine so far and it has been in use for one week.
