A 50 year old side sleeper, I've struggled w/back pain and night sweats for the past few years. I recently made the switch from a memory foam bed to a Purple mattress and have had the best rest in years. I'm so delighted and only regret not having made the investment sooner!

This bed is perfect in every way, shape, and form. We got the base model and two Purple pillows. We are so in love with the whole set! My fiancé will get up in the middle of the night and I can't feel a thing when he moves. My back problems have basically disappeared. The only con is that you won't be able to sleep soundly on any other mattress besides your Purple mattress. That's a fact. I'll drive 4 hours home just to have a good nights sleep.

I was hesitant to purchase this mattress and was fully expecting to have to return it. Fortunately, this will not happen! This is the best mattress I have ever had! Nothing hurts on my body when I lay down or when I wake up. I highly recommend this mattress and love love love it. It's great for other activities too. wink wink

I bought my Purple genuinely excited by the prospect of an amazing night's sleep. The ads and the science seemed to be speaking right to my needs. That said, you can imagine my supreme disappointment to be requesting a refund after less than a month. First, the good. Purple, as a company, is AMAZING!! They were a dream to deal with in requesting and receiving my refund. They absolutely held up their end of the bargain. 10 stars for their policies and customer service!! The bed, unfortunately, did not provide the restful nights I anticipated despite performing exactly as advertised. The purple gel layer was SOOOOO cool (to the touch and just in general). It felt so unusual in every sense of the word. Pressing my hands into it, I could feel it push back with support and then suddenly give as just the right amount of pressure caused it to flex around my fingers. I couldn't wait to sleep on it. The first few nights were...OK. I didn't sleep great, but they said I'd need time to adjust. I knew that any day my body would recognize the superior sleeping surface it was now being provided and my joint and muscle pains would melt away. After a few more nights, I was beginning to wonder what the problem was. I tossed and turned ALL night. I simply couldn't find a position that would allow me to stay asleep. Now, full disclosure, I'm a big guy. Large frame, about 280. I've had my previous mattress about 10 years. It's an inner spring with a pillow top and it's honestly given me some of the best nights of sleep I've ever had. It's just old and ready to be put to pasture or I wouldn't be in the market. After a few more nights on the Purple, I was able to pinpoint exactly the flaws in the design. First off, it's too thin. This was most apparent during "amorous" activities when I could feel the support platform under my knees with seemingly very little padding. I'm a big guy, so I can't fault them for not providing more foundation foam. I may simply be too large for the bed. The other issue, anyone of any size would likely experience. As I said before, the gel layer provides support until a certain threshold of force is applied. This is ostensibly to accommodate pressure points. The problem is when two connected body parts find themselves on opposite sides of that threshold. It was most notable in my shoulders and knees. My back, being part of the bulk of my body, would depress the gel beyond the crush threshold. My arms, however, would not. This led to my body and arms being supported to two different degrees at two completely different levels. The pressure under my arms was forcing them upward, while the gel under my torso gave way and relaxed. This caused significant shoulder pain during the nights I slept on my back or stomach. Similarly, my thighs were heavy enough to pass the crush threshold, but my calls were not. This created a similar pressure differential right at my knees when I slept on my side, causing knee pain which lasted throughout the day. These two conditions (along with similar factors elsewhere) meant that there was no single position that wouldn't cause me discomfort. Thus, I tossed and turned all night and never got good sleep. It even effected my performance at work to the point I had to sleep on the couch until our new mattress arrived. I don't mean this to seem negative. The bed performed according to spec. That spec just didn't seem to be designed with larger guys in mind. Great company. High quality product. Ultimately just not for me.

I had first got an everywhere cushion, which I loved (and can sneak onto chairs for long meetings). I ended up getting my children whose jobs involve a lot of computer sitting time. Next, I got the bed pillow ALSO loved it. Finally, I got the bed. I LOVE it. Comfortable and supportive (my lower back actually is SUPPORTED by the mattress)! Big fan!

I love the sheets. Really good fit. Very cool feeling. This is by far the best sleep I have had in a very long time. I only wish I would have waited another two weeks to purchase. I would have been able to get the free pillows instead of the sheets. All is a very good product.

I absolutely loved this mattress when it was delivered, but after two months an indent formed on my side of the bed. The disappointing part is that I'm not even a heavy person. I'm 5'10" and I weigh 150 pounds. I've started the warranty claim process so hopefully I'll get a new mattress soon and I won't have the same problem again.

I purchased a purple mattress about two years ago. When I first got the mattress I thought there was a body adjustment period, so I wanted to be fair. After two years it's safe to say that how I feel about it now is pretty solid. The mattress is overall comfortable if you sleep on your sides or stomach, however this mattress causes immense pain for me in my lower back if I sleep on my back. Because of this I have been a side and stomach sleeper with this bed. The claims that the mattress stays cool is accurate, this bed stays refreshingly cool as long as you use the correct sheets. Flannel, cloth or anything a bit heavy is a no go if you want to remain cool. I found bamboo, and silk work best for me. I want to be honest so if someone like me ends up debating on this bed, you know what you're getting into as it is really hard to decide on something you buy on the internet. The price is pretty steep, and I hope that this bed works out for you. For me it's a comfortable sleep but annoying that it is restricted to certain positions so I have to be conscious of that even when delirious and tossing and turning. It's also aggravating to have certain types of sheets you must use to fully enjoy your very expensive mattress. Not sure if it helps but I am a heavier user, and this may be why the bed isn't as comfortable for me as it would be for someone who is a normal weight. Hope this review helps someone who might need it. No hate towards purple, I just want to be honest.

I secretly hated this bed (purple 4) for almost 4 weeks and then something changed one night and I absolutely love it now. My wife has loved it from day one. My body needed to adjust and it's great. I'm a bigger guy, 95% side sleeper and used to wake up sweaty in memory foam bed. This bed has been great with keeping me cooler at night, and side sleeping has been excellent, I have not noticed any sagging yet that others have mentioned. Mattress protector was great and fair priced. Couple of reasons to not give 5 stars- I cannot find any offbrans sheets that work quite as well as purples so you're stuck with their sheets. They're super comfy but expensive, and the pillow cases ONLY come in king size if you buy king size sheets so you're stuck with big pillow cases, I've reached out to customer service and they will not sell individual smaller pillow cases. The edge on the bed while being supportive to sit on is very wide and removes several inches of the smart grid from both sides of the bed so you're essentially losing multiple inches of sleep space- doesn't seem like a big deal until you've got the kids and dogs in the bed. All in all I would definitely recommend the bed.

My girlfriend who came from a gel memory foam mattress. Her backside used to go numb Sitting up watching tv. On the purple mattress she doesn't have any discomforts. "I'm so comfortable I don't even realize how late is". The difference is extremely noticeable and indescribable. We love the mattress. Any position any angle.
