From the moment received, to six months later, the hubs and I have been excessively happy with the Purple mattress. We have very different sleep styles and complications (he on his back with shoulder problems, me on my side with back problems) but have both experienced a decrease in pain and improved sleep. After a long day you just melt in to it and it's wonderfully receiving. The only trouble is it makes getting OUT of bed (because it's so darn comfy!), as well as sleeping in other beds during travel, that much harder. Worth it!

A note for improvement: The one beef I have with my Purple mattress is the side wall. Most mattresses have some reinforcements in their sidewalls. Once you roll to the edge of your bed, it doesn't collapse under you and you don't feel like rolling off the bed. Purple unfortunately doesn't have it. In the first couple of nights I woke up a couple of times feeling like rolling off the bed. Then I learned not to get that close to the edge. If you guys can, take a look at it in the next version! Thank you!

I know that it is far better than my Sleep Number bed. Having some issues with pressure points at the shoulders and hips primarily. I think the bed is going to be too firm for me in the long run. I still have time to make sure it's not just an adjustment period.

I've had the mattress for a month. When I first laid on it I began to have second thoughts. I like my mattress firm and it cripples me the next day to sleep on a soft bed. My initial skeptacicim was quickly put to rest after my first nights sleep. Thanks for creating such a cool bed. I would reccomend Purple to anyone needing better sleep.

I purchased the original purple mattress because my old mattress hurt my back. The original purple mattress took about 3 weeks to break in, now my back pain has mostly went away.Overall the mattress is comfortable and has alleviated a lot of my back pain. I bought a full size mattress and believe the price for an original purple full size mattress is a bit over priced.

Over the past 5 years, my husband and I have had 3 different mattresses including the sleep number trying to find something that we both liked and could get a good nights sleep on. We finally bought the purple mattress and it has been wonderful!! we both sleep great and we don't overheat at night, which had been a problem before.

Our old mattress was the worst. It creaked and moaned at the slightest movement. It was so loud, when I would switch sides while sleeping the creaking would wake me up!! We would wake up when the other got out of bed. Not only that, it sagged in the middle and my husband and I would fight to stay apart and not roll into eachother. Lastly, the lack of support caused so much pain I could barely move when I got up. My muscles would be so tight, it literally hurt my chest to breathe. (And can I mention we are only 22 and 23!) So yes, the mattress needed to go. I saw an ad for Purple on FB and talked my husband into it. We are total opposites, so I was nervous how it would work out because he likes softer beds and Iike firmer and getting both of us to agree things like this can be a challenge. From the 1st night we both have slept like babies! No more pain, no more rolling into eachother, no more waking up from the other moving and getting out of bed. It really is soft but firm and has an awesome bounce to it. You also don't FEEL the other persons movement which is great. We got a king so the dog could sleep in bed.... couldn't help myself!! My only complaint is that I oversleep now! Haha and don't want to get out of it in the morning because it genuinely is so comfortable. And it is actually affordable. Thanks Purple! You rock.

I personally love the purple bed. Purchased one for my mother too. But turns out it's still too soft for her. Can someone please let me know how do I process a return? She is complaining that she gets really hot and sweats despite using a light comforter. And although it's comfortable, it's too soft after a long period and she wakes with back ache. Please advise?

I have suffered from back pain for at least the last 15 years. I'm not over weight or out of shape. I've always been a small person, but I'm a nurse so my back definitely takes a beating on a daily basis. I was diagnosed with rhumatoid arthritis 2 years ago as well. I injured my back severely when I was 12 years old and was thrown from my horse. I never stopped riding because it is my passion. It's also actually really good for posture, strengthening your core, and balance. But there's nothing like being able to sleep thru the night and actually remain comfortable. The first night that I slept in my new purple, I actually slept for 6 straight hours! That was the first time I've been able to do that in 15 years. Since then, I've actually over slept twice, which has never happened to me before. My friends have always joked that they knew they could call me at any time day or night, and I would answer because I never sleep. They no longer say that about me. I'm so in love with my purple mattress, I could never give it up! You guys rock!!

I've had a traditional mattress for decades, and two years ago I tried a very good direct-ship brand foam mattress. It was honestly a toss up between a Purple and this other brand. It felt great initially coming from a 12 year old traditional, but even a few months in I noticed myself waking up in the middle of the night with shoulder pains from sleeping on my side. Enter the Purple Mattress! We got one for our guest room and I've slept on it for about 10 nights, but already there is a huge difference in how I sleep. No more shoulder pain. When I lay on my side, the magic sponge sleep thing just absorbs my shoulder but supports the rest of my torso. Really neat science stuff. Wish I'd tried it two years ago.
