We purchased the Purple mattress because my husband had heard good things. I am a stomach and side sleeper, so my body is still readjusting itself. I can really feel a difference when I sleep on my back, it is just trying to stay there! My husband had shoulder surgery the day after we got the mattress so he hasn't had a chance to try it out yet.

I've been dealing with serious lower back pain for several years and decided to give purple a try. I'm able to get a good night's sleep again. My pain level in the morning is much lower. For me, I'd call the mattress on the softer side of medium...I'm about 150 lbs. It's a bit like floating instead of sinking...if you've been in pain trying to get out of a sinking bed, you know how awful that is. This doesn't happen to me on the purple. I'd highly recommend giving purple a try...it is different, but for me it is a game changer.

after only about 15 days i was bottoming out into the yard foam. 30 days in there was a big dip in the mattress. my back, hip and neck hurt every morning. i really wanted to like it but i don't feel like the polymer is doing anything. i just sink right through it. it seems pointless.

I tried the bed out with a healthy level of skepticism in mind. I thought that it could be worth a shot, but was comforted by the return policy that was in place in case I didn't like it. I have my mattress directly on my floor, I'm unsure if that makes a difference or not but it's worth mentioning in case it does. I laid on it after unwrapping it and immediately fell in love. I'm a thick lady with wide hips, a big behind, and a narrow waist so it's VERY difficult to find a bed that allows me to sleep properly. I typically sleep on my side. On most beds, the mattress is either too hard and doesn't allow my hips and shoulders to sink in, forcing my torso to sag uncomfortably in the middle, or they're too soft and offer absolutely no support. The same types of issues would arise if I slept on my back, with my butt creating an unwanted lift on my lower back that put the rest of my spine at an awkward angle. I'd essentially spend every night choosing between which position was the least uncomfortable. Purple is the absolutely perfect happy medium for me. It's soft enough that it conforms to my hips and shoulders while being firm enough for supporting my midsection. Now that I've slept on Purple for about a month, I don't think I'd want anything else.

It's hard to say that this mattress feels like sleeping on the floor, and make that sound good, but it is. The mattress forces your posture to feel like your sleeping on the floor, but is more comfortable than any mattress I've slept on. I guess you could say that is feels like the best of both worlds of a firm mattress and a soft mattress. The only qualification I might have is that I feel as though the better shape you are in, the more you would love this mattress. My mattress also came with the sheets, and I would HIGHLY recommend their sheets to anyone (or any good bamboo sheets for that matter.)

I am not in the habit of writing reviews, but this mattress has impressed me so much that I felt I owe it to the Purple folks to share what I have learned. My partner and I are in our early sixties. She suffers from very progressed degenerative disc disease. I suffered numerous crush injuries (including a crushed pelvis) in a car accident thirty years ago. Obviously we have some aches and pains. We were in need of a new mattress. So I set about doing the research to find one that might actually give us a tiny bit of relief. If in fact a mattress could actually help that sort of thing. I was not a "believer" at that point. I read product descriptions and reviews until my eyes were crossed and I felt I had sufficient information to make my choice. Buying a mattress sight unseen and untested was a big sticking point, but I got past it and ordered the Original Purple Mattress/queen size. It arrived in a surprisingly short time and was put in place and in business. The first morning I asked my partner how she felt. With a bit of a puzzled look she said, "I honestly think my back feels a bit better than usual." That spoke volumes to me. She isn't the type to rush to judgement. I knew I had gotten out of bed and could immediately straighten up. That bordered on shocking, but I wasn't allowing myself to get excited. Over a week later, this morning I asked again. How do you feel? Could you rate this mattress on a scale of 1 to 10? With zero hesitation, she said, "12". SHE SAID "12"!!! Remember I said she isn't one to rush to judgement. Personally, I have gone from pain waking almost everytime I move, to sleeping 3 or 4 hours at a time. Nothing short of a gift from Heaven. There is another major bonus feature to this mattress. My partner, for years, has had wicked night sweats. That has been very much diminished. Another gift from Purple Heaven. So...while this is very early in our experience with the Original Purple Mattress, I/we could not be more impressed. Hopefully, our sleep will continue to improve and our pain decrease. I don't know what more one could ask of a mattress. In my opinion, I made the perfect choice of mattress for us and it was money well spent. Thank you Purple.

Everything finally came in. Although i don't understand why i received it in three different shipments. The mattress is very firm. Almost as firm as the one i just got rid of. Still find it hot while sleeping. Not what was advertised. But still a very good product.

I have slept on my purple for a little over two months. All the aches and pains I had were gone. They are telling the truth when they say no pressure point. My hips and back have never been better. I am anxious to see how it does a year from now. But as for now two thumbs up!

I bought the queen purple mattress three weeks ago and slept on it for 10 days until I decided to return it. I always wake up with shoulder and back pain when I sleep on it. The quality of the mattress is great but it just wasn't the right fit for me. The shipment was fast and setting it up is easy. And returning it is a hassle-free experience for me.

My experience with Purple was very easy, quick, and friendly. My mattress actually came sooner than the anticipated date! I personally don't get that initial "ahhhh" when laying down on it, but I do sleep better and don't wake up as sweaty. Definitely worth it!
