It feels pretty good to lay on for a short time, but so does almost every mattress on the market - laying down feels nice. However, over the 60 or so days we've used it, it's never felt great. I'm pretty light, about 140lbs, my wife is a little heavier at about 250, and neither of us find this comfortable. We both prefer firm mattresses and I don't think I'd call this firm even though that's what they bill it as. The top couple inches is REALLY soft and there's just not enough support under that to make it feel firm. Also, the purple material looks really cool with it's honeycomb-esque shape, but I can feel the lines of those shapes even through the Purple Mattress Protector and the sheets...and it feels weird. Our son loves his, so for some people it works...just not for us.

Thee WORST mattress I have ever Tried to sleep on!!! It was Cold Clamy Wet feeling with ZERO support underneath my mid section making my lower back go way out of alignment causing me to wake up all night in SERVER PAIN and kept on SINKING Deeper into the mattress like a bed of Wet Cold Clamy bed of Mud with ZERO support!!!

We have finally found our mattress! In the past ten years my husband and I have owned five different mattresses, including the sleep number bed and other expensive mattresses trying to find one that didn't leave us sore in the morning. After sleeping on our Purple mattress for over two months now, there has not been once night either of us have woken up sore. This mattress is the perfect combination of supportive with plenty of give at your pressure points. I would recommend this mattress to anyone!

I first bought a purple pillow to try out the purple concept. After liking the pillow, I bought an original purple mattress (which came with another pillow). I sleep on my side and really like the comfort of the mattress. Recently, I bought a second purple mattress for my guest room. Now my guests can sleep comfortably--but I need more pillows!

So far, so "meh". Before we purchased this mattress, I purchased the chair cushion and lumbar support just to see how the grid system worked (and if the cushions worked as advertised). I haven't used the actual cushion much as it makes me sit too high on my office chair, but did notice that both it and the lumbar cushion make you sweat - a lot. And the reason for this is the grid collapses as it supports, so there is zero air flow through the grid. As far as comfort, they work nominally well. Our old mattress was a pseudo-memory foam affair that lasted exactly 2 years before it decided it was going to collapse in the middle as most do. Our previous mattress was a coil spring which did the same thing (we, as a couple, are not overly large people.. just sayin'). So, I thought a hybrid might do the job, and we sat on a P3 at a local retail store and it seemed to have "all the right moves". We ordered one. We're figuring with the 3 month warranty from the retail store and the 10 year through Purple our butts would literally be covered. The first week or so there was a pungent odor that weirdly I was only able to detect - and it was more a taste thing than anything else. It's somewhat dissipated now, but still occasionally get a whiff. Mattress movement with a partner isn't too much an issue - it does creditably well there. My main issue is actually sleeping close to the edge (a queen, and giving my partner some room), the edge will actually collapse, almost spilling me off the bed. Purple needs a solid band around the edge of their grids, maybe 2" wide and as deep as the grid to keep this from happening. As for sleeping comfort... yeah, it's ok. I don't think it's as 'cool' as they tout it to be (to the touch), but I'm not sweating, either. My arms will occasionally fall asleep if I'm on my side, but they'll do that in other places as well so I can't directly blame the mattress. The mattress itself is bouncy, I'm sure directly related to the grid gel. And you can feel the grid through the top cover of the mattress. It's not annoying, just one of those oh.. there's one kind of thing. I think Purple could step up the technology with the gel formation - I feel a "foamed" version of this gel - open cell, very loose foam (think soap bubbles) would be the next logical step as something like that could easily support the same amount of weight, be more breathable and provide the same support.

I used to sleep on a spring mattress with box springs and had gotten used to a slightly achy back (I'm 25). I decided I needed a change and simply shouldn't be dealing with back issues at my age but I couldn't afford one of the premium $2,000+ mattresses. Then I found purple. This mattress has the same effects as a premium, more expensive mattress, for half the cost. I couldn't believe the change it has had on my back and on my life. The first few days required a little adjustment but now my back feels normal. I can't stress how incredible "normal" is but I wake up feeling well rested, no aches, less tossing and turning (according to sleep monitor), and I don't disturb my partner when I get in/out of the bed like on my previous spring mattress. This mattress is simply a life changer. Thank you purple!

I don't like doing reviews so soon because it's not a significant enough time to base feedback on, but thus far I have no complaints. I really like the mattress. It's very comfortable and has the right amount of firmness. Although I'm not a back sleeper, I do like the support I get for my back when I am laying that way. I hope I continue to enjoy the mattress.

I love the Purple bed. It was recommended to me by my chiropractor. He and his fellow doctors own them. From the first night, I have slept better than ever. Hot flashes through the night are a thing of the past since this bed only retains your body heat. After sleeping on the Purple bed, I bought my Mom a King. She swears by the bed. She can get up in the morning without pain at the age of 74. Kudos to Purple for their products

The Purple mattress has a very nice, very soft top layer, but the layer beneath is firmer than expected. It is not harshly firm, but I would prefer something a bit more supple. Customer service was great. We will likely keep the mattress, but were hoping for a WOW experience.

We purchased the bed after we watched videos and read reviews on many websites. We thought it would be a great bed for me with my back issues, however I have issues with pressure point after surgery for hip replacement. The purple layer was not good for my incision area. Too sensitive an area for the purple layer, maybe just not enough cushion. After many restless nights and being very upset that it was not the mattress for me, I told my husband that I was not sleeping well at all. He was very upset with me as he loved the mattress!!! But you know what they say about a happy wife! I called purple and gave them the news that we needed to return it. They suggested I try a bit longer (we had slept on it around 40 days.) I at that point told them of my issues and they never questioned me again. Sent me info on how to donate it to a local charity (which is easier said than done) but I found a charity that would take a used mattress and they came and picked it up. I felt so great about who the mattress was going to and that he was going to have it right before Christmas! He had been sleeping on the floor for months! I gave purple the info of the charitable organization we gave it to and in less than a week our money was completely refunded. Purple is a great company to deal with, just so wish the mattress was a good match for me. Unfortunately it wasn't. Still giving the matress 4 stars...especially for my hubby! He would give it 5 stars for sure!
