But I like to sleep on my back a lot too. This mattress does not have enough support for my lower back. I like to read in bed and sometimes fall asleep on my back; I wake up with terrible lower back pain whenever I do. It is comfortable for side sleeping; but overall I am disappointed and would not recommend this mattress.

The jury is still out. It takes a bit of getting used to. I do have a terrible back, and sleeping on this bed may or may not be helping me. It's a bit firm, but I try a topper to soften up the bed. I love a firm mattress, but this may be too firm for me.

I finally gave in and got this bed. Ive always had trouble falling asleep and have back issues/ body aches and pains. After using this bed not only do i fall asleep faster, im more well rested and my back pain is not nearly as bad in the morning also! Love this bed

Best mattress I've ever slept on. Seriously love it. I took the plunge and decided to let a scientist decide what makes the best mattress for me, and Purple knows what they're doing. They have created a wonderful product in even the basic level Purple mattress. I also purchased the Purple doggy bed to go inside his kennel. I think he likes it too. I find him sneaking away to be in his kennel more now than before.

We were really excited about getting our purple mattress, especially me. We haven't had a new mattress in twelve years. Unfortunately, both my wife and I are experiencing sore backs when we wake up in the morning. It only started occurring after the 100 day guarantee period was over, so now we are stuck hoping the discomfort is temporary. I'm disappointed I don't like it more than I do.

My king size bed had developed a indentation where my shoulders down to my hips lay, this started to give me back aches. I emailed purple and they told me everything I needed to do to document my issue. They decided that I did indeed need a new bed and they got it to me quickly. They also gave the option for free removal of the old mattress. I am very pleased with the service I've received from the purple team. Thank you purple!

Overall, the Purple mattress lives up to the hype that you see or hear (eg. ad campaign, website reviews, YouTuber reviews, etc.). It definitely is unlike any any other mattress and is worth the investment or even trying out (given the 100-day trial). The top layer does support and fit the curves of the body, from small (knee) to large (back/hip), which makes it very comfortable. It's not too soft that you sink in; it is firm where needed. It does keep cool. Noticed that lower back pain experienced in previously owned mattress is now gone. Love this mattress so much, considering buying another in a larger size. This review was submitted after sleeping on the Purple mattress for 3 weeks.

For years I have not been able to walk without pain when I got up in the morning. It would take hours for me to stretch my back enough to be comfortable again. I had no idea my old pillow top, coil mattress was the reason. Since I have been sleeping on the purple mattress I can easily stand up and walk and bend over first thing! I have never slept on a mattress this comfortable before. This will be the only mattress I have for the rest of my life.

This is without a doubt the best mattress I have ever used. My wife and I were sleeping on an expensive hybrid for the last 5 years until the foam layer started to break down and created two large indentations where we normally sleep. After reading the reviews on the original Purple we decided it was time for a change. I am so happy we made the switch and both my wife and I have never slept better.
