I have back pain and was desperate to find a mattress that didn't cause pressure points as I find my hips aching terribly as well. The first few months I slept well but started noting my hips hurting again. Unfortunately the 100 days trial was up. A few months more and I was back to sleeping on the couch. After doing some late night research I discovered that this mattress will cause pressure points and pain if your under 140 pounds because you don't have enough eight to sink in. Well I'm usually somewhere between 125 and 135 so that explained a great deal. On the flip side my husband my husband (225 pounds) adores this mattress and sleeps like the dead. It's the first time in our marriage he's used a blanket in the winter because this mattress sleeps cool. We are trying to find middle ground and I will order another brand in a twin XL while he orders the Purple in a twin XL. We already took the kind size to one of our rental cabins in Gatlinburg and most guests love it. We get the occasional "bed it too hard!" review though.

We bought two twin xl mattresses to use for an adjustable kin size base. My mattress felt like there was something pushing against my back all of the time, so I tried my husbands. His was much more comfortable than mine. I have a pretty bad back and I'm not saying that the "good" mattress is a bad one, but I still cannot get comfortable at night. So we are in the process of trying a different brand. Btw my husband said he felt the same way about my mattress. So between the two they feel completely different.

I hadn't bought a new mattress in 10 years so I spent countless hours researching and debating and finally pulled the trigger. The second I set it up, my dog claimed his space. That night I went to bed and slept like I've never slept before. In fact I slept for 14 hours. Only downfall is it's ruining my social life since all I wanna do every night is crawl into bed.

My wife and I made the scariest bed decision of our lives... Buying a mattress on-line. This is usually a red flag for shoes, clothing, and definitely beds! But we decided to actually be that couple who would the return if it didn't exceed our expectations. Night one was tough. Back was hurting and I was not happy... I decided to give my body a few days to adjust and like clockwork by day 3 I was sleeping better than ever. Get the pillow too... It's expensive but so worth it!

It took forever for my mattress to actually arrive so if you want it ASAP I would not recommend ordering online. They claim that you need their special stretchy sheets? Nope not true I have been using normal sheets and they work literally identically to how they work on any other non Purple brand mattress. A friend of mine got a purple pillow and said it was hard as a rock and I do not disagree with her honestly. Something you should defiantly know before buying because I found it out the hard way (which I do not appreciate) is that the mattress is apparently DIRECTIONAL!?!?!? Yeah apparently despite there being no clear obvious markings on the mattress itself to indicate where the "top/bottom" is there is a definite your feet are supposed to go on this end and your head is supposed to go on the other end otherwise it is stiff in all the wrong places orientation. Oh and by the way if you sleep even slightly diagonally in bed instead of perfectly parallels you might wake up with back pain in the morning because of all of the weirdly janky stiffness and softness patches are set up being out of alignment. If it wasn't for the fact that I got the carpet redone in my house and had to move all the furniture around (there by realigning my mattress in the opposite direction as before in the process entirely accidentally and unintentionally because i was in a hurry to put it back together again) I never would have discovered that the mattress was apparently directional. Before that point I was ready to go back to my old mattress which is saying something because my old mattress has literal springs sticking out of it! I would have returned it if it wasn't for the fact that I didn't have time to go shopping for a NEW new mattress (thus why the bed in a bag gimmick was appealing to me in the first place) and it was in the short run at least much better than a broken mattress. I still do not appreciate the fact that the mattress only works in one direction and only one orientation because I really enjoy the fact that I can get more bang for my buck by rotating or flipping my old mattress to get more use out of the other side which I defiantly can't do with this one HOWEVER what saved this review from being a one star review and bumped it up to three stars is the fact that IF you get the orientation AND direction finally aligned right and find that sweet spot OMG that bed is freaking comfortable and the best sleep I have ever had in my life I slept like a coma and woke up so refreshed! My problem is that over the night I tend to slowly roll over and adjust my angle in bed to be more towards perpendicular than parallel so if I can just train myself to stop moving in my sleep and stay put in the sweet spot then I will have a great bed and wonderful sleep! I probably would not recommend this mattress for a starfish sleeper, perpendicular in the bed sleeper, or someone that moves around a lot in their sleep though because I doubt it would be a good fit unless you like a bed more on the stiffer side.

Great for couples who find it difficult to agree on too hard to soft issue...its just right for both. Plus I tend to sleep hot since I have been battling breast cancer over the last year. The treatments have forced me into menopause...but my night sweats are greatly improved on the purple mattress. Its a great value as well compared to other mattresses that are upwards of 4000$. My husband & I have never slept better and like many others have said, you may find it hard to get outta bed. The purple mattress, sheets & protector are all very awesome products.

My husband and I (and our toddler) had been sleeping on a queen mattress that my husband has had since he was in high school. It was worn out and very uncomfortable! I constantly dealt with back and hip pain that was almost unbearable during my last pregnancy. We decided to treat ourselves to the king size purple mattress, and I am so glad we did! The first few nights were a little weird because it was so different from anything we've felt before, but once we acclimated it has been great! We sleep much better and wake up with little to no pain! I'm so excited to have a better mattress for the next time I'm pregnant!

This mattress is just what my back needed. I have been through sertas, pillow tops, memory foam with gel, and this is the only one that has alleviated my back pain. I had moderate back pain from a car accident 15 years ago and had the pain every day. Since using the purple, the only days my back hurts is when it rainy out. Excellent!! Thanks Purple!!

Was nice the first night but after being in the first group to buy it I hate it. My boss turned me onto to purple so I bought one. First off I am 6'1" tall and weigh 165 pounds. I in no way shape or form sink into it. My wife is 5'3" and 115 pounds and does not sink into it. Hip pain shoulder pain and numb hands is what we experience as side sleepers. I understand why they use a sheet of glass that covers the whole bed to protect the egg. I rate this bed slightly above sleeping on the floor but that's it. Don't have the money to buy the "new" technology they have nor could I be out of a bed long enough to send it back after the 100 days. Wanted to stick with a start up and hoped I would like but I guess that a tall skinny guy can't "sink"into this concept.

I am 70 years old and have been holding off giving a review because I had a hard time believing this queen bed is as good as it is. Even after sleeping in it! I do have one wish. I wish the top layer was another inch or two higher. That honeycomb material is terrific. We sleep like a log both my wife and I and it is easier to get in and out of. I know this bed is popular with the young folk, but Seniors you need this bed more than the youngsters.I already had my power foundation and the PURPLE does wonderful on it. Please make a version with an additional inch or two of that top layer? It will then be perfected!!!
