Customer reviews for Lifetime Manta Angler Sit-On-Top Kayak, Eclipse Fusion for‘The’ kayak for 2024
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First, let me say… This is THE KAYAK - #lifetimeproducts #Manta Kayak to have in 2024! I’ve owned four kayaks (multiple brands) so far and this one is by far is the BEST ALL AROUND! Let’s start off with the overall tracking and sturdiness of this vessel. When launching it on the banks of my local pond, I was able to step right on the back of the #Manta #lifetimeproducts kayak without it shifting or feeling like I was going to fall in. The two deep pontoons help with stability and overall gliding while paddling / fishing in channels of the lake. The seat looks the same, but has little more comfort than the #Teton #lifetimeproducts kayak. Plus a MAJOR upgrade from two rod holders in the #Teton to now having six rod holders in the #Manta. It is immensely helpful to store multiple rods and a hand net when paddling or netting a fish. And the pull up strap for standing up located on the front wasn’t even needed as the overall width of 38 inches did its duty and allowing me to stand up with ease. The sturdiness is very similar to a paddle board. The ease of standing and paddling thru the lily pads made it feel like I was on an amazon journey. Even though this #manta #lifetimeproducts kayak is a foot and a half shorter than the #Teton #lifetimeproducts kayak, it is way more versatile and easy to move around - especially with open storage capabilities (miscellaneous grip areas for pliers, scale, beverages, molded in tape measure and much more. My maiden voyage was tested with all of the basic items that came with the kayak, no aftermarket add-ons except my milk crate that held my anchor and few cords that held some dry boxes. Future posts will include feedback of those aftermarket items on the new #Manta #Lifetimeproducts. I received multiple compliments from other anglers on how sleek and sharp #manta #lifetimeproducts looked. The only issue I had was pure neglect by myself as I paddled over some low lying branches that caught one of the drainage holes, I was easily able to shift my weight and pop right off the branch. If I did this in a different kayak, I would’ve most likely fell in the water, but with the oversized width, it made it extremely easy / buoyancy is top-notch. I’m excited to get on some fast moving water to see how the maneuvering is when crossing strong currents. Overall, lake fishing with minimal currents was a true blast and allowed me to enjoy the serenity and peacefulness of nature while being able to fish and feel safe. And I can proudly say, I did not get skunked. I was able to land 2 largemouth bass and 2 chain pickerel. At night end, I loaded it back on top of my Subaru outback and kept it on the roof rack for two days. Usually, I unload it instantly and get it cleaned and back in storage until the next trip, but I wanted to see how it reacted with being strapped on the roof rack for more than 24 hours. All is well, no warping and no issues at all. (Weather was about in the mid 80s). On Father’s Day, my family helped me take it off my #subura #outback and insisted they helped with cleaning it. We practiced the same cleaning methods as we have done on previous kayaks with using a scrub brush + foam brush with car wash soap to take any pond scum off. With having multiple drain holes, the water was easily able to escape the top and dried fairly quickly. Like I said before I can’t wait to get back out on the water with current or waves where we can test the next part of this amazing and top notch 2024 Manta #lifetimeproducts kayak! A major thanks and shoutout to the #lifetimeproducts family for selecting me to test out this new model and excited to see what the future brings to the world of kayak fishing! Go Manta!!!!
Awesome kayak!
This kayak is awesome! It is the most stable kayak I have used and I was able to stand and fish with zero issues. It maneuvers great and very easy to paddle. It has plenty of room for all your gear. It is light enough to load and unload it by yourself. It also has 2 built in wheels that make launching it very easy. I really like that it has 6 rod holders. The only downside is the way the outer rod holders angle , sometimes i would hit the rods while paddling.
Sadly disappointed
I am a avid fisherman. I have owned several Kayaks and was looking forward to this one because of the wide beam. I was looking for something very stable with a lot of leg room. I have a replacement knee and hip and can't really do pedal boats. With the width I felt I would be able to stretch my legs when needed. The Manta is extremely stable, comfortable and I am able to stretch my legs as needed. I can stand and actually throw a cast net from it. The Manta actually tracks well and isn't a breast to paddle as I thought it would be........so far so good. It took me over 2 hours to get to a location that actually had a Manta Kayak in stock. Once I got to the location it was loaded and I was on my way home. The next day I looked over the Kayak and the Center Black padding was already coming up at the corners ( see photos ). I haven't even been on the water and the padding is coming up ...... definitely a tripping possibility. Disappointment #1. So, a couple days later I finally get to take the Manta out onto the water ( I live in South West Florida on the Gulf ). I fish all types of waters and planned on using the Manta in a few Kayak Tournaments. First time out I caught a few Redfish and Speckled Trout. Nothing of any real size and it tracked and handled well while fighting the fish. Then I put on a Pinfish for something larger and hooked up. What ever it was shot across the Kayak and pulled the rod holder almost all the way out cracking it from 2 of the screws holding it in place. Disappointment #2 I am not sure if the Manta was ment only for freshwater fishing or not but I never saw anything written stating it's a freshwater kayak only. Now I am concerned about the durability. Then I took it out the next day for the second time after having to tighten more then half the screws. Many of the screws were loose. I took the rod holder off used marine goop and reinstalled. Hopefully it will hold up better. On this second outing one of the wheels popped off which I was able to easily put back on but I know it's going to be lost quickly. One of the foot pegs is already missing a clip that holds the pull strap tight. Bottom line is I love the Manta Hull design, stability and tracking but very concerned about the longevity and durability of the boat. I understand this isn't a high-end Kayak but, I did expect it to get some usage before these or similar issues came up.

Super stable
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Lifetime Manta kayak is an amazing, affordable, lightweight kayak with a ton of innovative features. Some of my favorite features include the wide platform, which provides amazing stability, and the 4 rod holders. The gear tracks provide a ton of mounting options for my electronics. I do wish there were a few on the back. The dual skeg wheels make it nice to maneuver around the garage and to the truck, but they have a hard time in sand. It's still much better than previous versions. I've owned 4 different models of Lifetime kayaks, from sit-inside to pedal drive and everything in-between. The Manua has the best tracking of any of them. The stability has beyond exceeded my expectations. I'm a big guy and I am able to walk to and fish from the front of the kayak! Speed is not the Manta's strong suit, but it makes up for it in stability. It comes with a motor mount and mine will be installed this week. Heading out to Clear Lake California this weekend for a kayak bass tournament, and I will update my review after cruising with the motor. A few wish list items. 11' long New seat design, including an option to sit about 3" higher. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with the Manta and I plan on using it for many years in many kayak bass fishing tournaments. I received this kayak free of cost in exchange for a honest review.
Awesome Kayak
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Lifetime Manta Angler is very easy to maneuver and there’s plenty of room for gear . The tracking is fairly good but as in all kayaks in my experience it’s about transferring your weight of your load around to help balance your kayak to get the best tracking . The stability of the Manta Angler is awesome, I was able to stand up and cast my fishing rod with ease and landing a big bass I had no worries about tipping over . I love this kayak
Excellent stability
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The manta angler exceeded my expectations. I have owned 2 other kayaks and this is the first kayak I didn’t feel like was going to tip over when I am in choppy water or catch waves from bigger boats, which is important to me because I usually fish bigger bodies of water. I stood up in it and casted and felt very comfortable doing it. I like where Lifetime placed the wheels on this because it is easy to move around on solid ground and the kayak doesn’t want to tip over because how far apart they placed them. The Manta is surprisingly easy to paddle for how big it is and tracks very well. My favorite feature is the four rod holders on the back. I put a fishing net in one of them and put three rods in the others. I like that I can keep the rods out of my way while paddling to my spots and can easily get to them when I am ready to fish.
Perfect
