This cake has been wonderful until recently. I think the oven temp needs to be checked. The cake is not as moist as before and it has a dark colored crust that I had to cut off.

this used to be a very good pound cake. due to not be able to walk through the store so I order online and pick up. when I got home I noticed it appeared to be very well done. I cut a slice and it was so DRY. I will not buy this again

I was sorely disappointed with this! It tasted like cornbread. Sweet cornbread but cornbread nonetheless. And its texture is very dense. I used this for strawberry shortcake and it just didn't go well.

The French vanilla pound cake was delicious and moist. I read the reviews where some were dry, but I guess that whoever baked those, overcooked them! I would prefer a little more vanilla extract but the cake was a hit at my Easter dinner. I will be buying more and make sure to check that it’s not overcooked.

I was very disappointed with this pound cake. The crust was thick and dry, and the cake inside was tasteless. It’s by far the worst purchase I’ve made from Sam’s bakery. I ended up throwing it away because no one would eat it, so it was a waste of money.

I received a free sample for my honest review. I liked the vanilla pound cake overall. The middle was moist and had good flavor, but the edges were a little rough and seemed slightly overcooked. I would buy it again, but it wouldn’t be at the top of my list.

I received a free sample for my honest review. The sample cake was large, 31 oz, so there was plenty for both my wife and I to try it out. We both contributed to this review. It was very attractively packaged and when opened, the vanilla aroma was very evident and very pleasing. The vanilla flavor was also strong but not overpowering. The texture was pleasing, however be both thought it was a bit dry, thus not as moist as it should have been. We both thought it was very good, and would have been even better with a touch of lemon flavoring, or perhaps lemon icing. It also would be excellent served with a topping of ice cream.
