Bananas spiked recently, and we returned to buying them at Sam's Club. Unfortunately, this experience has not been good. Regular and pricier Organic bananas are often intermingled within their display, and we inevitably grab the Organic which cost more. It isn't a matter of being more careful; I think customers move them around in the display. The bananas are VERY green in the store - as in you can eat them maybe next week - and they do not ripen correctly. They go from green to brown. I read that this ripening problem can be caused by improper cold storage. We have started to avoid purchasing these. I realize this experience may be Club-specific, but I can't recommend these from my own Club. Proceed with caution.

Can Get Better Product and Pricing Elsewhere

Great to find green bananas that had no bruises on them!  I keep in the refrig when they start ripening.  Peelings get black but tge banana stays firm!  After they ripen beyond my liking, I put them in the freezer then use them to sweeten banana bread!  Healthier!
