I have been wanting to try Santal 33 for awhile now, so I thought I would try the Dossier version first and I was not disappointed. The smell reminds me of a upscale spa or expensive resort. My husband and I both wear it and we spritz it on the bedsheets and around the house! Its definitely a different smell but in the best way!

I liked the woody sandalwood but didn't love it. I feel like the scent does fade off. It doesn't stay strong smelling for a while. At first, it smells like pickles and then it goes to a certain woody scent. I ordered it because of Santal 33 which smells a bit like it the strong and long lasting part i am not sure of it. I sprayed ALOT on and i feel like it just doesn't stay smelling like it for a bit.

After a bit of a misfire on the first fragrance I ordered (it was a blind buy and the scent was simply not for me), Dossier kindly exchanged that first purchase for this one. Woody Sandalwood is a very faithful interpretation of the original Le Labo scent. Frankly, I think Dossier's is better. The original had an odd mint-like note on me (which I wasn't wild about), and Dossier's does not. For me, that's definitely a win. The scent is long-lasting and not something you smell on 100 other people you meet. Well done!

For years now I've been on the hunt for a truly woody fragrance that's warm, a touch masculine to make it unisex, and rich. This is that fragrance. It's a bit spicy, very woody, lasts more that 24 hours on me, and just hits a spot when I use it. It's a new favorite for such a fair price. I've also done side by side comparisons with several other Dossier fragrances next to the inspiration ones and they really do get it spot on so I'm quite confident this is almost exactly what Santal 33 smells like too.

Absolutely beautiful scent from Dossier. I was concerned about the sandalwood being too masculine (didn't exactly want to smell like I was wearing cologne, you know?) but it really is a beautifully balanced unisex scent. I'm really obsessed with the cardamom top note -- I spent some time living in the Middle East & the cardamom scent really takes me back. I love how the scent wears, would highly recommend!

I overall enjoy this perfume! I am new to the world of perfuming so I guess I misunderstood top, middle, and base notes, so I was very surprised by the amount of spice this perfume gives off. I was enticed by the sandalwood originally, and I layer it with a sandalwood perfume oil. The dry down matches your own scent very well. I'm keeping this for date nights!

I read another review that explained that this worked well with their body chemistry and I can confirm it definitely works with mine. So many of my friends and a lot of strangers have stopped to ask me what I was wearing and I always have to explain that its Le Labo...but not. I think the original Santal 33 is much spicier and 1 spray can feel like too much on me, but this Dossier dupe smells more rounded on me (if that makes sense) and I feel safe spritzing it on my hair and skin. Its become a signature scent for me (I am on my 3rd bottle now)!

Ordered this several months ago and thought I HATED it. Got the pickle jar smell many people talk about. It gave me a headache. The dry-down smelled awful on my skin. I'm generally lazy about returning things, and it wasn't a huge dent in my wallet anyway, so I just figured I'd gotten a personal dud. I had it set aside to donate...and then read some things online about letting perfumes sit for a few months or weeks after spraying a bit to give them time to settle. [Side note: there is mixed information about how effective that is (or whether it does anything at all), but I will say it made a difference with this one.] I tried it today, almost nine months after I received it...and all of the lovely smells other people have described are coming through for me, with none of the unpleasantness. There is still a faint pickley note, but it has calmed down considerably, and I'm getting a lot more complexity on the dry down. If I understand correctly, the volume of orders from a place like Dossier means that the perfume you receive may have been mixed just before sending (so they may not have time to settle), and weather conditions on the journey can have an effect. So can time of year. So I guess... if you think you dislike something from Dossier but everything else is heavenly, AND you're lazy about returns like me, stick it in a dark drawer for half a year and try again. It's possible you still won't like it. But you might be pleasantly surprised. Other perfumes I noticed changing over time (for the better) from my Dossier orders: Ambery Saffron and Gourmand Patchouli.

I discovered Dossier because a coworker was wearing this scent. The entire work area smelled amazing. So I ordered it hoping I could wear it as well as she did. Woody Sandalwood did not disappoint. I love it! The scent lasts all day on me. A little goes a long way. Looking forward to trying others!!

Scent last longer on my body. I am a cancer patient and needed fragrances to masks the smell of the meds coming out of my system. I am not familiar with the original scents they were inspired from but I am very very very pleased and satisfied. I am keeping Woody Sandalwood and Oriental Cherry. Still deciding on Oriental Coconut.
