The protein content was impressive, making it a solid choice for a post-workout snack or meal replacement. However, the biggest issue I had came down to taste. The chocolate coating had a noticeably bitter flavor that completely threw off the whole experience. Instead of complementing the sweet, cookie dough center, the coating overwhelmed it. It left an unpleasant aftertaste that lingered long after finishing the bar. The bitterness made it difficult for me to enjoy.

I tried a lot of protein bars, and a lot of them have that gritty texture or funky aftertaste that makes it hard to get through the whole bar and want to eat again. the TRU Bar in Oh Oh Cookie Dough totally surprised m in the best way possible. The texture is smooth and really not gritty at all. It actually tasted like a treat. There was no strange lingering flavor afterward. It’s sweet without being overwhelming and has that cookie dough vibe that feels like a cheat, even though it’s packed with good-for-you ingredients. I will definitely be repurchasing this bar in some different flavors. Highly recommend! You won’t be disappointed

I love these bars! They are the best. The only reason I omitted one star is because my last several orders don’t have the sea salt on them. I understood when it happened during the summer months due to heat but it wasn’t extremely hot during my last shipment. The salt is just the little extra that makes them better than all other brands.

They are a bit gritty, but these are the best I’ve had. I am able to eat the whole bar without getting nauseous and there’s no bad after taste so they definitely have me as a customer. It’s a great easy snack to have to curb cravings and to hold me over until lunch or dinner, and a good snack.

I was surprised by the exterior layer of chocolate as it didn’t seem obvious that was going to be the case. The flavor is good, it’s the texture that gets me. It’s very chew and gummy. I think if it as a taffy mixed with caramel. It isn’t bad, but unexpected. If you aren’t on a plant based diet, there are better options out there.

Most protein snacks tend to be very chalky, but I’m very surprised this one isn’t! It does have it a little bit, but it’s normal in every protein bar. I’ll be definitely buying more in every single flavor!

I love everything about this bar - taste, fiber & protein content. BUT the saturated fat content is very high. I hope the company decreases the saturated fat with so many (especially those in the market to buy healthy protein bars) wanting to eliminate saturated fat.
