Overall, I really like TurboTax (I've used it for over 30 Years! [Wow is right]). But I specifically like the “Desktop” version (NOT the “Online” version). I say this because when I first updated my TurboTax this year (2026), I was asked to “convert” over to the Online version. I didn't give the reason why (then) but will now. The “online” environment (and platform) has one MAJOR problem – It can “hacked.” (as you are REQUIRED to have your data [uploaded and stored] on YOUR corporate computer system). I am speaking as a Ph.D. (in Technology) – so I can say (with certainty) that ALL systems can be “Hacked.” So, with that, I will NEVER be interest in going to (and use) the “Online” version – unless Intuit and 100% GUARANTEE that their system will NEVER get (or be) hacked. This is, of course, absurd (as NO system is 100% untouchable). The ONLY way that I “may” consider the Online Platform is if your company would provide a 1 Million dollar guarantee (to all customers) in the event that your system is EVER hacked (no matter how “minor” [or major] it may happen). Meaning, that your company would give ALL customers an immediate one million dollars (per customer) if your systems are ever hacked (not piece mill). If you (Intuit) is stupid enough to give such an all encompassing (and immediate/no question [or excuses]) guarantee then let me know. I believe (from my expertise) that this would be a instant "win" (for me - and others), as I believe you will (eventually) have to pay out Billions of dollars. There are errors in the TurboTax input. I get a 1099-Misc for Structure Income from an investment. TurboTax was trying to force me to file this as a Self-Employment Sch C. I only found out from searching how to work around this to enter it as other income. Also, I had answered the question if investment income was due to Crypto and I entered no. However, TurboTax asked again after completing inputs if these were digital. I had to double enter over 1000 entries to say no!!! This took hours to do.

TurboTax Premier Desktop Software 2025 won't accept credit card payment for State e-file. I have tried all the suggestions online including confirming address matches credit card and tax return, clearing browser cookies and history, running software as administrator and removing online safety measures, like pop-up blockers - - PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE. Appears to occur since 2021 based on comment history! It is very frustrating to get to the end of this process to only run into e-file/payment issue.

Bought Turbo tax online and bought state return option because I sold real estate in NC even though I live in Florida. After entering all info and ready to file state of NC required return Turbo Tax tells me Florida does not require a state return which I know but no way to prepare the NC return. When you charge for a state return you should make clear that only applies to home state. I paid for something I did not get.

Very good, however, the first time I used the 2025 Premier turbo tax version, it didn't lead me to the Form only part right away. I had a hard time preparing other taxes for my family and friends. It appeared the 2025 turbo tax was only limited to my taxes. I didn't purchased t the software to do only my taxes, it was for me, my family and friends.

Though my wife and I have used Turbotax each year for over a decade, the software algorithm has regrettably deteriorated over the years to a point where I might as well have used the official federal and state forms directly on my own. The 2025 Intuit Turbotax Premier is riddled with help links that do not work and certain wizard-style questionnaires take you down an irrelevant path without clear instructions what is happening (1099-NEC and Schedule C as one example). I do not have the confidence that this software helped me prepare my taxes as accurately as it may have done 10 years ago.

The tax forms are fairly easy to fill out. Security and payment is getting to take as long as doing taxes. There has got to be a better way without entering a billion numbers at least 2 times. I understand security and scammers BUT you are making it almost easier to just print and mail.

The User Interface needs serious work and updates. It has gotten worse over time and it's clear there is very little UI testing. Examples of needed improvements include: 1) A user feedback on each page/screen 2) Multiple places where it doesn't retain the answers to questions (e.g. IRA info) if going back through a topic again. 3) Confusing import screens where it imported the same data twice (vs. asking if I wanted to replace the prior import).

used for 30+years, harder to use every year. Oklahoma filing, Ok. return does not print when ask for preview. Last several years always a wreck a filling time. Can't print Okla. return for Mail in filling. T tax insists on E file, I'm trying to get around it!!

I was NOT able to designate a distribution from a traditional IRA to a ROTH conversion . Turbotax erroneously called it an inherited IRA. We were taxed appropriately, but I wonder how TurboTax will remember it next year. Also, I was not able to designate 100% of my refund to pay forward for the next tax year. Once I put one dollar amount in the box, I was NOT able to edit it to a different amount..
