It gets the job done but is often difficult to manage when issues crop up. For example, it wanted me to review something but would not take me to what needed reviewed until I finished and came to the looking for errors portion. I just kept getting a message that something needed reviewed.

I have come to trust TurboTax, (I use the Premier product), to have the most current information on the Federal and State tax calculations and have a robust process to ensure accuracy of the calculations. I am unhappy with the discontinuation of "Its Deductible" software package as I found that product to be very useful for logging charitable donations throughout the year. The program was very useful for importing the charitable donations into TurboTax when working on the tax return. It was also a time saver!!

The main reason I have for using Turbo Tax is that it imports tax forms from Fidelity. Otherwise it's a bit more expensive and not that much different from other software I've used like Block and TaxAct. The support people required a substantial wait and were a bit difficult for me to understand - accent / phone noise. Importing tax data from Fidelity and banks had a few glitches, but worked well enough after a few tries. A little disappointed in the info offered after filing - no comparision with others and few useful suggestions for next year. I used the desktop version up til now, but the on-line version seems like the way to go in the future... no updates to wait through and more questions and hopefully info.

I've been using TT for several years. This is the first time I had to fight with it. (1.) It wouldn't import all the Schwab files I selected from a combined 1099 (1099B was missing). Customer service said for me to enter it manually. Not a big deal however the remnants that were imported created multiple entries I had to comb through to remove all duplicates. (2.) I believe it was because of the remnants of the 1099B that caused me to have to upgrade to the premier version, from the Deluxe + State. (3.) I E-filed 3 returns and now the software is telling me I've hit my limit of 5 free E-files. One of the returns had 2 text responses from the IRS as 'accepted' and 'denied' although I only E-Filed in once. Now I get to chase down which returns were successfully filed and which were not. I have yet to receive the text from the IRS that my last e-file was accepted which coincides with the notice that I have reached my 5 free filing limit. I still have a 4th return to file so it looks like I'm in for some more phone time with customer service to get this resolved.

Overall it went pretty smooth. One area that could use a bit more instructions was the following: When entering a 1099-R I got to this screen Titled: "Tell us which person may have qualified for a penalty exception". Since there was only one person I assumed I should select Continue, but that didn't display the exceptions. I finally figured out I needed to select the Edit pencil icon to see the Exceptions. I recommend something like: Click Edit to see the Exceptions.

I use TurboTax as I am very familiar with the program (many years usage). I trust the accuracy of the program and I love the feature to go to forms. I also really like the ability to print to PDF files. I really like the software running on my own computer. I do not want to use something that runs on a server.

Overall my experience with turbotax was good. The gliche with downloading the previous year's (2024) Turbotax into the current tax year's (2025) Turbotax needs to be fixed. The problem I had was written about multiple times in the Turbotax community.

I was pretty happy with most things except on the PA State return filing instructions it states "Be sure to mail all pages of your signed return along with any required attachments". YOU FAIL TO TELL ME WHAT THOSE REQUIRED ATTACHMENTS ARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AM I SUPPOSED TO GUESS?

1 - The aggressive upselling for tax advice is very annoying. Ask me once, not repeatedly. 2- I'm lucky enough to live in a state with no state income tax. Turbo tax knows this. Why was I repeatedly harassed about a state return. My experience "Do you want to do a state return? NO! Are you sure you don't want to do a state return? NO! NO! Are you really really sure you don't want to do a state return? NO! NO!! NO!!!!....a few minutes later...We notice you didn't do a state return...are you sure...." What is wrong with you people????

Previously liked using Turbotax, but getting spammed with many requests to buy Tax Advice several times at the beginning, throughout, at the end, and even a survey why you did not buy the Tax Advice is annoying, so much that likely will not use Turbotax in the future. I do not mind being asked once in the beginning or at the end, but I do not pay to get spammed with ads to buy more. If I want paid tax advice I would pay an accountant.
