useful if you have active brokerage accounts

Not my favorite software and not my favorite activity to be doing taxes. I am not thrilled with TurboTax. The interface looks like something that hasn't been updated since Windows 95. It's a bit clunky. I used it because my brokerage account gets complicated and (after significant effort disabling browsers and turning pop-up windows on, with no guidance from within the software, but rather looking up problems other people are having) it's useful to be able to have that part done automatically.

I had some issue this year.

I got stuck with a login issue, I used the Live Tax advice and quickly resolved the issue. Then I got stuck with the Federal Review and / Fix. The form would not advance. I used Live Tax advice again, however we went through lots of menus of grayed out options (likely due to I'm on a Mac). So I started my taxes again from the start. I got to the same section again. Then I had to pay for Live Tax Advice again, since I lost my previous privilege. The person I got to this time quickly showed me how I had to verify and validate my 1099's and cleared up everything. From there everything worked AOK.

Turbo Tax is addicted to Artificial Stupidity

I had a significantly higher frequency of looking for answers in the Help menu and on line because your tool tips to explain things are getting fewer and fewer. Since you are using more artificial stupidity this year--that should be more of them than prior years.

Lacking features

WIsh it would remember more of what was entered in previous years. Like it should remember information on the type of retirement income. Who remembers five years later. If I entered it was an inheritage IRA, then it should remember it. Not sure why we have to pay to efile state returns. And why purchasing additional states is so expensive, half the price of the entire program!

Good Product for Basic Tax Filings

Good experience with Federal return and Colorado return, not so good with Hawaii return. I encountered some issues with Schedule E for a vacation rental, so I went to the Help Menu and my questions weren't answered. I had to use the most popular AI platforms to get the correct information explained to me with step-by-step entry instructions. I've used Turbo Tax for 15 years and have been happy with the ease of use until my returns became more complicated due to the purchase of a vacation rental in Hawaii and a temporary residency change to Hawaii. I found the Hawaii return Help Menu to be lacking the detail I've grown accustomed to with my other returns. I suspect AI will change how tax filings are prepared which might be the end of this product.

Overall - A good product; just one minor glitch

The software's interface was straight forward and easy enough to follow. I did not encounter any issues with this year's returns. The only issue that I did encounter was when I went to enter my credit card information for paying the filing fees. The form would not show all of the months in the pull-down list nor would it let me scroll down the list to select the month value that I needed. To resolve the problem I had to reset my Display Text size settings. on my computer. The issue could have been avoided had I been allowed to type the value I needed or the combo box selection contained a scroll bar to allow me to scroll through the list.

Very dated UI, struggles with any complexity

Very low confidence that TurboTax is filling out the forms correctly. It doesn't handle things like multiple 1099-DIVs correctly, and every year I'm having to manually correct more of the entries. There's only minimal guidance / advice / analysis. Increasingly, it feels like it would be safer and just fast to fill out the raw IRS forms myself. Very dated UI.

Turbo Tax hasn't fixed a known error

put and reinput the zip code, verified it on the USPS website. I checked your customer form and found it has been a known error since February. I have tried some of the fixes. And now my return is in an envelop and heading to the USPS to be mailed. The filing for the FED return is one of the reasons that I have purchase Turbo Tax for many many years...... Maybe there is a better option. will be looking.

Needs warnings and fix

Problem: I have downloaded TurboTax. it is open and have progressed a bit. I am now at the point of needing to connect to my investments in Fidelity. I entered my log in and my password. TurboTax did connect with Fidelity. Then next step was a verification step where TurboTax asked me to click on the icon/word "Allow". I did that but nothing happened. It looks like the icon/word is simply nonfunctional. The "Allow" button (or similar verification step in the browser pop-up) often appears non-functional because of modern browser security restrictions around local network access. TurboTax uses a browser-based OAuth flow to connect to Fidelity, and recent updates in Chrome, Edge, and other browsers block the desktop app from receiving the data unless you explicitly grant permission. Turbo Tax should describe the necessary fix. Also, big problem: A person purchased TurboTax for 2025. the person, when asked to prepare the tax online or on their computer the person said online. After filling out all the necessary information the person attempted to print the return. turbo tax said the person must pay $200 ? There should be a warning when a person selects “online” that they will be subject to a large unexpected fee. Especially when they already purchased the program at a local store. Would save the customer much pain and $$$'s.

Every Year It's Always "Turbo Tax Time!"

I really value the product you create, every year. This year, for the first time, a lot of things felt just somehow "foreign," as if there had been many changes i was not aware of. The flow seemed somehow different, and the verbiage as well. I navigated everything with relative comfort, however, I think due to general experience with your products. Perhaps a quick upfront piece on "What's New This Year" right within the product would have been good. (Or maybe it was there and I jumped right over it? Ha!) Thanks for another great year, where my husband and I did NOT come to blows!!! Donna
