It's a useful tool - importing stock data is awesome albeit sometimes the accuracy is suspect. But a few things are annoying enough to mention, namely, no automatic software updates on Mac OS; second is having to click through embedded ads for "expert" tax advice and dozens of other questions simply to check an input. Getting directly to an input is a real pain. The ability to print specific forms is dysfunctional - you should be able to print from any form instead of having to wade through hundreds of pages deselecting hundreds of pages. Been using TT for 35+ years and will say that the last few years make me want to look at other products. Ok, wasted enough time on this comment when I'm not getting paid for it.

I keep waiting for TurboTax to set up a "early" version that I could buy in say Sept 2026, which would help me plan my taxes for the 2026 year and be a prepaid system for the 2026 normal turbo tax software for the 2026 tax year once it becomes available. This would allow TurboTax to get their money early and allow them to charge a little more money for the software. This seems so obvious to me. Come on TurboTax, expand your universe and make more profit! Maybe look at Bolden for a full approach to financial planning so you can grow and expand. Your competition is coming with AI. Please be agile so you continue to survive! I would like to be able to see the details of my State return. I'd also like to understand how much ordinary income vs capital gain income I had. It would be great to see my marginal tax bracket. It would be even better if there were a planning section for next year. I feel like TurboTax is resting on your laurels. Great software but you are at risk of being left in the dust! Innovate and be the leading software providing more services. It's frustrating for me to see you stall out.

I found it a little difficult to look at some of the inputs to the final tax forms once the process had been completed. I wanted to review a 1099-R after the tax forms had been completed but found that that data was hard to get to without having to go way back into the process. It would be nice if I could have looked at it at the very end to make sure it was right, without having to go back into the "income" area, unless I actually had to.

1 - The aggressive upselling for tax advice is very annoying. Ask me once, not repeatedly. 2- I'm lucky enough to live in a state with no state income tax. Turbo tax knows this. Why was I repeatedly harassed about a state return. My experience "Do you want to do a state return? NO! Are you sure you don't want to do a state return? NO! NO! Are you really really sure you don't want to do a state return? NO! NO!! NO!!!!....a few minutes later...We notice you didn't do a state return...are you sure...." What is wrong with you people????

I had to restart a new turbo tax file because the prompts were confusing. I had imported my 1099-DIV, 1099-B from Fidelity Investments. But one question was let's see how your 1099-xxx are. It went to a screen to import when I had already imported. So, because of this I imported again and now I had twice things and more than tripled my taxes to pay. The other choose was to skip the import or put in the name of the institution and import. It was like it lost my imports. When it say's let check your 1099-xxx. I think if you had imported that it should go to the page you get if you choose skip import. Another thing I found is my import worked but it still had one from my 2024 taxes. It had zero dollars but it was the same thing I already downloaded. Why was the old one from 2024 kept when I imported new 1099-xxx.

The third-party access authorization process was not clearly explained and required several trial error steps for me to complete the process properly. Reporting interest paid on my HELOC was frustratingly difficult. The IRS does not require lenders to issue 1098 if interest paid in the year is <$600. The software said intructions say: "if you have not received a 1098, request one from your lender." I contacted Turbo Tax for assistance on the HELOC process; the agent, Kristy, was very helpful but did not know how to resolve the issue. After spending several hours, again trial & error, I was able to input the information and complete the return with no errors reported and the information reflected as appropriate. I strongly suggest review and improvement to input of HELOC interest payments when the IRS does NOT require the lender to issue a 1098.

Was very easy working with this year's product. Investment information upload is a great feature. I had one problem with entering RMD information. I had to divide the RMD amount between the IRA distribution to me and the QCD. There was no instruction on this.

Too many steps to "upsell" within the program. Too many places the program "dumbs" down, rather than simply having spaces to transfer from forms (specifically in the interest and dividend sections). Bring back It's Deductible. That was actually a very useful part of the program. Best feature is the carryover from previous returns (why I come back) for things like losses. Kind of ironic that this year, I needed to upgrade because i had a 1099-B, which I've had in previous years, so the Premium. Even though, for 20+ year, deluxe was sufficient.

From installation crashing bugs to help pages with abundant dead links, it's clear this company is relying too much on AI with almost no quality control. I'll be taking my business elsewhere next year. This has been one of the most painful tax filing experiences ever, all due to the new turbotax experience.

I've been using TurboTax for many years, but this year I got no CD, and I found it very difficult to transfer data from the 2024 TurboTax file stored on my computer. I felt as though I was being forced, by your software, to use the online vs the desktop option. It took me hours of screwing around before it seemed to me that I was getting the same ease of use from the 2025 software version as I had become used to when using prior years CD based software. I will likely not be using TurboTax again.
