Avoid Turbo Tax Deluxe

Absolutely awful. Program deleted my completed returns so they were not there (or anywhere0 when I went to file. The digital assistant is completely useless. I said it before, but I am done with this sub-par program. AVOID AVOID. Deluxe Desktop is even worse than the online platform and that is saying soething

Worked well but had a few issues this year.

TurboTax worked well for me this year. The only issue I had was related to entering K-1 and K-3 information. TurboTax wouldn't allow multiple counties to be entered on th K-3 like I received them from my investment firm. Turbotax indicted multiple K-1's would have to be entered for each additional country. However, that doesn't work because there is only one source K-1. Entering the K-1 a second time ends up being treaded like a second K-1, so all the numbers get doubled. There was also an issue with entering codes and numbers, where I entered them into TurboTax correctly as requested, but later TurboTax said I had put the numbers where the code is supposed to be. Other than that, TurboTax worked well this year

Turbotax erroneous prompt cost me a lot to resolve

Turbotax prompted me that I had overfunded my HSA account and that I would be penalized 6% if I did not withdraw funds. I did so only to find out that I had in fact, it was not overfunded. To get this resolved, I had to take a lot of time contact my HSA admin and pay $60 for tax advice on Inuit to get this resolved even though it was it was Intuit's mistake. Turns out this prompt may have been generated from some interview about last year's taxes that I was unable to go back and see or correct. Not happy about all this.

Defects in Software should be fixed

Guidance in how to switch from Easy Steps to Forms and back is non-existence. Software for RMDs is defective. One of my accounts did not require an RMD this year, but I did take a withdrawal. I could not get the withdrawal to satisfy the RMD for another accunt until I said that the RMD requirement for the first ccount was $1(even though that was not true). You should have fixed this because I found in a TurboTax chat in the spring of 2025 that this was the necessary work around. Also, space in software for including an explanation on Form 5329 is strange and difficult to use.

Not a good year for this product.

Transmission of data from financial institutions was a mess this year, more work on users part to correct. Some error messages vague ---For example, a field that required info [caused by data capture failure as per above] was not highlighted--- no clarification of the issue. Errors popped up in final checks, and at times disappeared simply by employing error check repeatedly. Glitchy As a 20-plus year customer, this was the worst!

TT is a great poduct

TT is an amazing product for how much it does to help simplify the leviathan Federal and State Tax Codes. I can't imagine a better product. 1. During the filing process I was not asked to get an IP PIN so the first transmission failed. 2. During file TT said I need to mail in paper copies of my Fede tax return. This is not necessary.

TurboTax feedback

Interface - I am not a fan of the interface and the layout where all questions are in one corner and the fonts in the extra information boxes are extremely small making it very difficult to read. Is there a way to improve that? Accuracy - lack of explanation regarding how certain amount is treated (e.g. when there is a need to split form 1098 amount, there seems to be no option to split and there is no explanation how the full amount will be treated).

Great - Except for charity donations.

Great as always, but since there is no longer ItsDeductible, please make importing .txf files for donations more complete/streamlined. Importing the file itself isn't difficult, but then completing all the necessary additional information is cumbersome. Not sure I did it correctly. Thanks!

Turbo Tax is not what it used to be!

I had to call twice, and the in-person help was excellent both John and Elliot helped me solve my problems. Finding out how to call was extremely difficult. One was a software error that occurred during download. The other was trying to navigate back to change how I wanted to apply my refund, part to next year's taxes. It should not have been that hard to figure out. The AI help is 100% WORTHLESS!

Unsure about my tax return

I used to love TurboTax...now, not so much. I had more trouble this year with using TurboTax than in previous years. In particular, I was unsure about filling out several things: foreign income behind foreign tax; at-risk own business; Medicare premiums and reimbursement; etc. I did not see how to rectify the at-risk box for Schedule A, so hope I got it. All in all, I am thinking that maybe I need to get a tax professional so that I feel certain my tax returns are legally accurate.
