I've used Turbo Tax for years. I find it to be very easy to understand and to use. This was my first year using the version for Mac and I was pleased to find there were no difference from the Windows version, at least none that I came across in my simple return.

I didn't like that I had to pay additional fees at the end to file my state tax return. That should've been disclosed up front. And it keeps on trying to bill my for the audit defense program when I wanted to opt out. Feels very bait and switch. Or I was force to pay the final fees at the end to file.

Turbo Tax is solid as always. My one suggestion would be that they carry over more info from your previous return than they currently do. I would love it if they saved my W-2 info except the amounts (e.g., all employer info including state TIN). It does cary over a lot but I am always surprised that I have to fill in as much as I do each year when nothing changes.

I've been using TurboTax for many years. I find, for my taxes, the accuracy of the calculations to be outstanding and the dropdown boxes that contain succinct descriptions of the tax code extremely helpful. However, this year some of the program changes for inputting information was a bit confusing until I understood what the program was trying to do. Also, the program crashed no less than five times! At first, I thought it was because my security software was scanning my computer when I first started but even after this was completed, the application crashed on several occasions. Other than those issues, the software worked fine and I was able to complete my taxes way ahead of schedule this year.

I started entering the forms that I had. I didn't have everything yet. Turbo Tax Premier Desktop started giving me notices "We recommend you revisit the last topic you were working on to make sur ll your info's correct." It wouldn't let me continue and no matter what I went back to, it kept saying the same thing. I went into your AI help and tried thing after thing and it took over five hours of my time to finally get past this issue. Your AI said this is a known issue with Turbo Tax Premier Desktop. I wondered if you were making this more difficult than any other year in order to force us to put everything online instead of using a desktop version. I almost gave up and thought I would have to go to a tax accountant. Thankfully, the AI Robot helped me considerably.

Downloading and updating the program are both incredibly frustrating. Took hours more to complete my taxes because of the wait times, error messages, stalls, and wild goose chases trying to find solutions. I've been using TurboTax for ten years and I've never experienced anything like this before. I'll probably drop TurboTax next year. The entire experience left me wondering about the quality of the underlying tax mechanism.

Long time user of Turbo Tax but this years experience using was awful. Things the past that were easy were now difficult to go through and visa versa. Could not e-file at the end because it did not have an option for month 10-12 on credit card selection. Had to find another CC to use.

This was my first year using the desktop version instead of the online. I found the UI to be clunky and often glitchy in responding (often had to click twice to move to next screen). It was also very disappointing that I wasn't able to upload a PDF for the program to process. I had closed an account last year so the only copy I had of my forms was physical and I had input all the information manually. It also makes you reduntantly click to move on to modules instead of just seamlessly moving to the next topic to evaluate.

The product is much "glitchier" than it has ben in the past. It crashed on me twice ... and there were no auto-backups. As a result, I had to start anew (I learned after the first crash to do periodic manual saves.) Moreover, on several occasions it took me down random rabbit holes (Canadian pension??)

Really seamless process from importing statements and helpful reminders to insure accuracy-Turbotax premier desktop is a great plan. My one caveat is the expense for additional states and e-filing expenses. I do my out of state children's taxes as well. I had to use a clumsy program called OLT so we could do theirs for free. If I had done additional states (2) it would be $60 each state and $25 each e-file for each state and $25 for each federal e file with my 2025 TT premier desktop. That's an additional $220 fee which I find way too much. The OLT tax program offered all that for free due to their income limits-but that program was NOT fun nor easy. To get the TT tax to work I would have to create an additional account with a different email and it was just too much effort.
