Turbbox is not a good software

1. Too much updates required. Everytime I start Turbox, it ask for update. 2. Collect too much infomation that are not needed. 3. Credit card payment form did not fit my screen. The buttons are out of my screen. I send this info last year and it did not change. I can not use credit card payment since the buttons are out of screen.

Not awesome.

Most things work ok. However, your payment options on New York State are awful and extremely awkward, and your new app doesn't help, it just repeats whats in the form. You need to reword this or you lose me as a customer. Either the prompts need help, or you need some new options.

TurboTax is OK but has a serious issue

Generally, I'm happy with TurboTax. However I've run into one glaring issue two years in a row. Starting with last year, and continuing this year, I paid significant foreign taxes. With one investment 1099, there are often two or more foreign countries to which I pay taxes during the year. I'm required to file Federal Form 1116 to document these taxes by country. But the logic built into TurboTax is way too simple and does not account for the taxes they way they are paid: When you select an investment account tied to foreign taxes, the system automatically eliminates that same investment account when you go to report additional countries. That account previously selected just "disappears" from you go-forward choices. That's NOT the way foreign taxes work. As mentioned, one individual investment account often has MANY foreign holdings. TurboTax does a terrible job of handling Form 1116 reporting. It's so bad I'm considering a move to another provider after many years with TurboTax.

TurboTax has an issue entering CC expiration date

I think it is beyond belief that TurboTax has an issue with entering the expiration date on a credit card when trying to purchase state returns and paying to file state returns. TurboTax has known for the past 2 years that this is a problem. I spent 2 hours trying to get TurboTax to accept my credit card. FIX YOUR KNOWN ISSUE.

Difficult to trace to supporting documents

While accuracy and features are excellent, I always have problems with finding supporting data worksheets that track to my 1099s, lacking in hot links to supporting worksheets. Foreign taxes are impossible to understand and track, finding worksheets for capital gains and losses, vs capital gains distributions are difficult to trace. Multiple 1099s from the same payer significantly complicates things unless you modify the payees title. My state does not have an income tax but TurboTax does not accept that.

Turbox Tax installation process is horrible.

I had installation issue this year and last year. The problem is the same that when I tried to do the verification and log into my existing Intuit account via your TurboTax App, it kept saying "Access is denied" without even present me a web interface requesting password. By the way, I have no problem to log into my Intuit account via web browser (using Edge or Chrome" So the issue is definitely not about my authentications but rather something about the handshake between my request for log in to your TurboTax Server. Last year's problem I fixed on my own. This year's problem I opened 3 support tickets with your Support Center. None of the 3 support Rep really understood the root of the issue. The last one (which is supposed to be handled by an Escalation Engineer is among the worse. I already explained to her that we have tried all the following in the first two troubleshooting sessions such as: - disable the VPN and all anti-virus - updated MS last patches - verified the license code. But I told her that the "Access is denied" issue is happening even before the need of presenting the license code. But she kept saying my license code was not the right code and started questing me all the questions about where and when I purchased the software. I gave up tried to convince up and let her repeated all the stuff that we already did it multiple times in the first 2 troubleshoot sessions and sure enough none of that help. She then promised me that she will escalate the case further up and let me know the status. But I have not heard from her at all. Not even with an email saying what is the support case number. I think she just did not file anything to prevent your company know how bad she did. I finally go around the problem by using my wife email address to create a new Intuit account in order to bypassed the "Access is denied" problem. I am not sure how I would fix the same problem if it comes up again next year since I already used my email and my wife email to create two Intuit accounts.

Easy and Accurate

I have used Turbo Tax for many years to prepare my federal and state income tax returns. Some years have been more complicated than others but the software has been relatively easy to use and always accurate. Great product and this year for the first time i filed electronically. We'll see how that goes.

Good questions and forms, but submit was frustrati

I went through Federal, State (Ohio) and School taxes without a hitch. I efiled federal, then wanted to efile state for the first time. Then I discovered two problems. 1) I need to provide the state with additional documentation, but could not attach additional docs. 2) I could not find anywhere whether my Ohio School income tax return would be included if I E-filed my state. It was not until after i was almost completely through with the state e-file that the school taxes were mentioned. Very frustrating not knowing before the end.

User issue

Turbo Tax has created a program that seems to lock people in and now you want to force people that have been using your program to do it on line. Also, I really want the disk but you no longer seem to see the need for users to have a disk. bottom line, it does suck.

Weaker by the year!

I own a rental house. In 2024, I had to pull from my 401k to put a $7000 furnace in it; I wasn't allowed to deduct it. In 2025, I had to do it again to replace a roof costing $17,000; I couldn't deduct that either. But I was charged taxes for the income I sunk into a rental! TurboTax seemed weak this year. I had SSA-1099SM that I couldn't find anywhere that form was referenced.
