Fr the most part using Turbo Tax is pretty easy. Non cash Charitable. This year I had a lot of non cash deductions was not the easiest. With Multiple items going to the same charity, Why due you have to enter the date for each item. It would be easier to enter the date once and that should be all that is need for all items donated on that date. If you have several dates of donations one enter for each date should be all that is needed. On medical deductions it would be nice to see each section prior to entering. I found myself going back and forth because what each category wasn't real clear until you get further into the section. Overall I'm pleased with Turbo Tax.

The is an error when filing NY state return. Problem arises when wages (box 1 in W2) are the same as non-qualified plans (box 11). NYS rejects the return. The problem should be resolved between TurboTax and NYS IRS to properly handle the form generated by turbo tax.

TurboTax just walks through common tax situations. Less common items can usually be found. This year I had a one time need to file a trust return. It was not available in my TurboTax version. I wound up doing it on paper. This year I thought I would try the online version. I found it difficult to navigate and wound up going back to the downloaded version. I did not see a way to go to forms online, for example.

Turbotax is a great program for doing your taxes. Installation was a hassle! I mean what the heck is a Login Keychain Password?! once I figured that out, I got it started. Also, after the files are installed you need to swipe their icon into the applications. Then you need to go into applications and click on it there. Just a few hiccups on installation but everything after that was easy. This is typical of computer people. They always make it harder for normal people to use the software.

I believe this is the 5th year I have used Turbo Tax and I have never spent as much time as checking your prompt to review the item and back and forth until either I got it or your support staff helped (by the way they were very good). I found it quite cumbersome this year since I have spent hours and hours. In any eveynt I finally got it.

It was very inconvenient & frustrating to not being able to connect & import data from financial institutions like Charles Schwab. This has worked with no issues in the past but was not able to get it to work this time & I have heard that others have ran into the same issue.

I've used TurboTax for over 25 years. The current search is useless with respect to functionality compared to what it once was. The AI can't interpret questions correctly; and it no longer goes directly to sheets that I request. In order to accurately carry out an estimate of next year's quarterly tax, I finally had to override entries in the "forms" view to get correct output.

Interface between interview mode and looking at the forms was easy and helpful. The download feature for my investments was quick and it had security features for my protection. The accuracy of the review process was spot on. This version of the software was compatible with my needs.

Given extreme complexity of the tax code, TurboTax makes it relatively easy to enter and calculate, and is highly accurate. Audit Defense gives me peace of mind, and was extremely helpful one year when it was triggered. Downsides are that I have no insight into how the various taxes are actually calculated, it is difficult to estimate or try scenarios for next year's taxes, and I hate that loyal users are charged the highest price, if you choose to auto-renew.
