Decades long Turbo Tax user. The software, while a tad difficult to load this year, provided easy-to-follow instructions and assists; when I needed more information the advisor interface was available to get the details I required. I really appreciate the many features of this TT Premier.

My fault for waiting so long to file however. it would be great if you guys did support these older years of turbo tax and at least let them connect to the server! Absolutely zero help in getting them to work. But I did manage. Just a thought. I love turbotax programs... I have been using it since 2001

Did not use the expert to answer questions feature. It is another expense for people who cannot afford to keep paying for additional things that should already be included in the program for free. That is why most people would prefer to have someone else do it for them.

2025 was great. Unfortunately, it caused me to review my 2024 return because the tax due was not consistent with tax due on my 2024 return. My review found a bug in your 2024 app. I had 2 1099-NEC forms. The app only included income from 1 of them. This resulted in a tax due amount error of over $1300 short. What do we now?

I was required to file two different returns. When was imputing the tax info online and had completed the Federal portion of the second return and was just finishing the second State return when TurboTax decided to save my return automatically when I was not ready. That automatic "save" captured two state returns in one Federal return. I had difficulty in removing the second State return. I had to completely eliminate both Federal and State input on both of the second return and start a completely new return manually entering all of the data for the second return on the Desktop Turbo Tax avoiding any input on Online.

The software is already expensive, yet almost every additional step costs more money. First, you pay for the software itself. Then each additional state return costs extra. On top of that, TurboTax charges separately just to e-file each state return. It feels like constant nickel-and-diming. What’s even more frustrating is the 3 state e-file limit in the desktop version. If you have income in more than three states (which is increasingly common), you’re forced to either mail returns or find another workaround. This limitation is not clearly emphasized upfront when purchasing the software. To make matters worse, the software provides very little guidance for paper filing when you exceed the e-file limit. There are no clear instructions, checklists, or mailing guidance integrated into the process. For a premium-priced product, that’s unacceptable. Will not use for next year.

The software was difficult to load this year. I clicked on the windows option, but the button would not accept the input...said something to the effect of "windows not supported." I had to stumble around to find another way to load the system up. Also, the product got hung up on my W2 when I tried to enter in the paying institution address. It would not accept the imported input (which seems strange) and it said that only certain characters were accepted, but I only used "acceptable" characters...AND...it wouldn't let me progress beyond that screen. What it wanted (I finally figured out) was the address to be input via multiple boxes. I've had this W2 institution for 5 years now and never had a problem before.

Overall, Turbotax is easy to use and is my annual go-to software for filing my tax return. However, I give it only 4 stars because I believe it can do a better job on Form 8606. The way the prompts are designed creates inaccuracies, specifically as it relates to tracking prior year basis in a traditional IRA, which then causes a filing error and makes it harder in subsequent years when you do a Roth IRA conversion.

I have been using TurbTax for few years, and IRS did not came back for correction: Accuracy is good. Interface: should be added clear notes what fields to sue from form, and add examples for how to fill up some screens like when tehre are 2 or more states involved, and need to check which one is double taxed

Program generally works well. Easy to save and file. Forms I didn't know I needed get automatically added and calculated. Updates continuously come in, which makes me wonder if I should file or wait for ny more updates. Reviewing the entries seems to regenerate the already answered questioins about foreign bank acoounts.
