I talked to a tech agent. I did not get my free state tax to e-file. She gave me a 25% off code,. She told me to put it in the payment section. There was no place to put it. Now I have a code that I don't know where it goes. I have used Turbo tax for many years. This is the first year I had trouble with it. Clothing and misc household area was terrible with no its deductible amounts.

TurboTax is always challenging. It often exhibits a bad user interface, asks you to fill in answers it already knows, cannot handle some tax situations, etc. I always run across some situation every year that I have a devil of time figuring out. Help desk is less than helpful unless I pay them an additional $60 for real help. The phone line help could not understand that I needed technical help and not tax help. Had to use AI and my own experimentation to fix an income input situation.

The install process was horrible. The download couldn't un-archive itself. Re-downloading, providing a whitelist file name exemption and trying a third party extract all failed. I ended up needing to create a brand new ADMIN account to complete the install. Then after activating the software, I had to re-activate the software after switching back to my normal ID. Once my taxes were complete and the Federal was e-filed, the state was printed for filing. The routing and account number for refund didn't carry forward to the printed copy and had to be added manually.

I am totally satisfied with the software's versatility, ease of use, nice interface, and the ability to either be guided through all topics or work individually with forms and schedules. It incorporates critical help topics for almost every possible scenario. All calculations are being performed automatically with high accuracy. The TurboTax Advantage subscription is very helpful because it provides uninterrupted service year after year.

I've used TurboTax for 20 years. It is generally effective, but I do not appreciate Intuit's constant attempts to gain more revenue through irritating prompts to purchase services I do not need or want. There are also technical glitches -- this year, the payment screen would not accept my credit card expiration date. And this "AI powered" review box is glitching -- erasing some letters as I type them and it pointlessly updates the "suggested review topics."

If I could assign a zero or even a negative number I would! I contacted support multiple time to no permanent avail (short-term successes only). EVERY-TIME turbo tax updated on my machine, I had to use another of the 5 downloads I purchased.. By the grace of God I completed things within the 5 downloads! Then when finishing up my taxes, including one state (of course TT tried continuously sell me Florida as well, well there is no state tax in Florida!) State was no where to be found. This is likely my last communication with Intuit, another software will be used next season. And I will try to convince Fidelity where I purchased from, to provide alternatives to this inferior product.

This yrs turbo tax NOT as user friendly. For some reason I had to go into investments 1099-xxx and manually select and/or enter data. AL state tax same way. In the past yrs - (decades) TurboTax would guide me thru almost painlessly, this year NO SO.

I have used the old deluxe version of turbo tax for many years and always was very satisfied. This new desktop version is a disappointment because it has created a number of extra steps in tax return preparation and is not very user friendly. I hope you plan on keeping the desktop version because I do not want my tax return records on the cloud. i have no idea why you would have eliminated the Schedule D transactions from the former old deluxe version which was a great software product.

I have used TurboTax for nearly 20 years. The product for tax year 2025 made several changes that took the product backwards related to features, functionality and included content. I ended up having to upgrade to a different tier of the product for this tax year even though the forms I needed did not change from tax year.2024.

In years past, I have consistently rated TTP with a 5 Star rating, but I'm only giving it 4 Stars because I had several problems with entering data. The section dealing with my 1099R had to be revisited several times in order to update the 2025 figures. And during one of the attempts, I completely killed my entire return and sent me back to "start a new return", a most distressing occurrence!!! I am not happy with all the revised format changes because I have been using TTP for many years now and I found the new formatting to be cumbersome to use. Otherwise, I am pleased with the product overall, as I have been in the past. I would have given 3 Stars because of my level of frustration, but felt that would have been too harsh on ths excellent product.
