OK overall but not paper-free and too much work

I use the desktop version for Mac because it gives me access to the forms. I find the 'interview' process sometimes skips over or grabs the wrong information. I wish TurboTax had (a) imported my brokerage transactions with the 1099-B; (b) given me the choice to enter my brokerage transactions; or (c) imported my brokerage statement as a PDF. At the end I got the unwelcome message that I now had to find and print the statement with forms 8949 and 8453 and mail them to the IRS. This is unnecessary and more painful than any of these options. Overall though, it's OK. Outrageous however that Intuit lobbies the US government to stop them simplifying tax filing and allowing us to deal direct with the IRS as in other countries. I shouldn't really be giving you my business at all.

Turbo Tax has bugs

I was not able to enter my financial information myself. It made me transfer it from my financial institution and it transferred accounts that were not income related. I had to go through each of them with my printed statements and verify if it had the correct information to file my return.

Have been using TurboTax for 10+ years

I have always loved TurboTax and have never had an issue until this year. For some reason it did not update my TurboTax when I opened it to do my taxes. For this reason, it got stuck on transmitting my returns. TurboTax wanted to charge me a fee to help with this issue. I finally just shut down my computer and when it came backup, it finally update my TurboTax and let me transmit my return. Other than that, Love It!

Not like before

It appeared to me this years turbotax was a redicaldeparture from previous years. I had to go back to enter TIN numbers issued by the feds because my ID was stolen. Also there was no comparison between last years entries and this years entries, (I used guide me wih everything). I know the BBB changed many things but I will check out other tax software before I buy any tax software.

Worst version of TurboTax

I've used TurboTax for many years and this was by far the worse experience. Popups and "ads" from the online version were so annoying I switched to my desktop version. Forms that weren't ready were delayed from "by February" until they actually were ready February 20. Fields for 1099-R weren't automatically filled in, resulting in "problems" that were difficult to trace down. in general, it was frustrating.

Just OK - Needs cleanup

I saw several issues where values weren't displayed as expected. Best example but not only example is W-2 Stae and Local Income, withheld amount just floating without a heading connected on PC version. Not like only some of your customers are going to have W-2's! Clean that up. Hopefully the underlying logic is OK? Seemed like lots of exceptions in 1099-B imports. Maybe it is time for a top to bottom refresh of the flow. some sections flow different than others.

Long Time Client

I've been using Turbo Tax since 1997, and have never encountered any problems using their software. And yes, Turbo tax has been around that long; I'm just no sure if Intuit owned it back then. In either case it definitely makes filing my taxes a breeze.

good

Long time user and I always find it easy to use and great support when needed. This year the billing has me confused between online use and desktop. I completed my return and electronically filed it not knowing what turbo tax charge would be. I am also disappointed on not being able to upload my Its' deductible file that I saved when in formed the application was being cancelled.

No CD, Lots of issues

Did not care for the online download. Previously I used a CD for many years and never had problems. Took several attempts to get it downloaded. Then it was not able to import my documents from Ameriprise. System would say it had the information but when I proceeded I always got an error message so I had to manually enter all the info, taking hours longer than previous versions.

Import issue

Turbo is usually great, however this year the import process had a bit of a security issue. I understand this can happen and things change but turbo tax should have posted a solution to fix security hang up. Instead they recommended manual entry of transactions. Solution is to reset permissions to access local network.
