Over many years I've discovered errors and glitches in TT programs. I usually discover these in two ways: 1) My own knowledge of what ought to be, 2) Studying "Forms View" and finding inconsistencies, inaccuracies, contradictions, and unexplained blanks either filled in (or not). I've done my best to report these errors to TT personnel, but each year the same old ones persist, and new ones arise.

The 2025 version of Turbo Tax was the buggiest version I have ever used. It was a good thing I have been a loyal user for over a decade because I know when it skipping something so I was able to click around and find the spot to enter the information I needed to enter. I didn't like that it needed windows 11 if that is a requirement I will be going with a different software. I've used Turbo Tax for almost 20 years but this might be the last year. I will not be recommending Turbo tax to any one this year.

WOW the number of built in ads for additional services is getting out of hand. I don't need or want that. This is really a big turn off to me as a long time turbotax user. It started when I installed and was getting pushed into the online service. IF I WANTED THAT THEN WHY BUY THE DESKTOP???? I don't want that. These upsells are getting bad. do what you will with this feedback, but I might switch to FreeTax USA and save some money. They push the upsells even less.

The product is accurate and does a great job in reviewing all aspects of tax categories. I always had success with using Turbo tax in past years and will continue in future years. However, I have had challenges with the product, namely: The UI is outdated and clumsy; small font is hard on older eyes and navigation is not intuitive. I had to use the wizard to enter data instead of entering directly into forms.

Everything went fine and very easy until paying for the state return. The screen that appears to enter credit card info is not entirely visible. I had to switch from Safari to Chrome in order to complete. Very frustrating. This also happened for the 2024 filing so it's not a new problem.

Disappointed with the 2025 desktop version. I've used Turbo Tax for more than 10 years. I upgraded my computer specifically so I could use Turbo Tax. It was able to access my prior year...but couldn't seem to be able to upload my financial info. It covered topics with very iffy descriptions. I was so concerned, I re-ran my info with another platform, to verify the results. They matched, but really, I shouldn't have felt the need

The Kansas package has an error when calculating the proportion of income to be applied to Kansas taxes for someone living outside of the state fulltime. Schedule S B23 is not calculated correctly, such that it states no taxes are due, when that is not true.

It gets easier every year but some of the questions asked are not clear. Some do not have extra notes to click on for more info. Google helped. At the end, while paying to file state return, it was not clear about charging me $40 for e-filing Fed return. I was nervous until I filed and was not charged $40.

The walk through instructions for Foreign Tax Credit need some work. I needed to enter information for 3 different investment accounts and had 3 different foreign sources (RIC, Ireland and Canada). I could enter 2 sources OK, but the third source did not allow me to select the proper matching account in which I paid the taxes. I recommend that the software allow option to select any of the accounts and not limit the selection. I had to go to individual form 1116 and manually enter the correct information.

I had installation issue this year and last year. The problem is the same that when I tried to do the verification and log into my existing Intuit account via your TurboTax App, it kept saying "Access is denied" without even present me a web interface requesting password. By the way, I have no problem to log into my Intuit account via web browser (using Edge or Chrome" So the issue is definitely not about my authentications but rather something about the handshake between my request for log in to your TurboTax Server. Last year's problem I fixed on my own. This year's problem I opened 3 support tickets with your Support Center. None of the 3 support Rep really understood the root of the issue. The last one (which is supposed to be handled by an Escalation Engineer is among the worse. I already explained to her that we have tried all the following in the first two troubleshooting sessions such as: - disable the VPN and all anti-virus - updated MS last patches - verified the license code. But I told her that the "Access is denied" issue is happening even before the need of presenting the license code. But she kept saying my license code was not the right code and started questing me all the questions about where and when I purchased the software. I gave up tried to convince up and let her repeated all the stuff that we already did it multiple times in the first 2 troubleshoot sessions and sure enough none of that help. She then promised me that she will escalate the case further up and let me know the status. But I have not heard from her at all. Not even with an email saying what is the support case number. I think she just did not file anything to prevent your company know how bad she did. I finally go around the problem by using my wife email address to create a new Intuit account in order to bypassed the "Access is denied" problem. I am not sure how I would fix the same problem if it comes up again next year since I already used my email and my wife email to create two Intuit accounts.
