No More Mailed Checks

Overall, filing my taxes was simple and I was satisfied with the process. The one major complaint I have this year what at the end when trying to e-file my federal return. As in the past there are to options to receive your refund, mailed check or direct deposit. Unfortunately, I found out as of Sept. 1, 2025, the IRS is no longer mailing checks. I received a letter from the IRS that now I have to submit my bank information for direct deposit. The software needs to be updated to remove or notify that the mailed check is no longer an option. And now, it is a major pain process for me to get on the IRS site and submit my bank information in order to get my refund.

Love your product --except.

One small item that I encountered that scared me for a couple of days. There are two occurrences of Wells Fargo in your import dropdown selection. The first is the bank and the second is for Wells Fargo Advisors. Yet, the second one is called Wells Fargo Clearing Services. The bank selection showed the import documents were available, but Turbotax kept giving me an error code on the import. The second option didn't have the documents available for about five days, unbeknownst to me. After the five days, the documents were available and I quit sweating after a successful import.

Great software but has some flaws

Both last year and this year, when I submitted my Federal tax return with TurboTax, I was notified from the IRS that my return was Rejected. I had to physically go into Deductions & Credits and under Affordable Care Act (Form 1095-A) fill in the information that was required. Then refile my return with the IRS. TurboTax should be prompting me for this information as I had already listed that I had a Form 1095-A. Hopefully this can be fixed for upcoming years.

Remove some 'fear' of IRS.

TurboTax requirement to be installed on drive c: makes a two year TurboTax install, on both PC if upgrading PC, this year and next year as information does not transfer well if not installed on c: drive. There may be 'best practices' to require c: drive install but from 'user' standpoint it would be 'best' if I could install and run from 'other' than c: drive.

Need to work out the glitches

The product is much "glitchier" than it has ben in the past. It crashed on me twice ... and there were no auto-backups. As a result, I had to start anew (I learned after the first crash to do periodic manual saves.) Moreover, on several occasions it took me down random rabbit holes (Canadian pension??)

Great Product ~ Beware of Pop-Ups

I have used TurboTax for many years and find it relatively easy to use. I have had no audits using TurboTax. That being said, I don't appreciate all the pop-up ads to sell additional products. I feel the ads could be deceiving and especially confusing for older users.

Have to use it because I used it in the past

I would like to know where to find the worksheet for under payment of Estimated taxes penalty for $3. I can't see where it is or why the penalty. Also saw an error on a worksheet for Student loans where you are supposed to enter $65,000 but it entered $70,000 for me instead. Luckily I didn't need that info.

TurboTax Premier: From Trusted to Cash‑Grab

You have taken a historically effective product designed to file taxes and turned it into a continous unending effort at selling additional services. I found it difficult to earned tax credits and ended up using AI to walk me through your product to find the correct filing. You missed the first time at finding the credit and I corrected it your software with accuracy my correction guided by external AI was correct.

Annoying Ad on each page

I really like the task top version of the Tubo tax, had been using it since 2008. Please stop telling me I should switch to the on-line version. And stop telling me I need to buy the Adviser Service. It sounds like whoever using the app are dump. I already Paid $80 for the for the app. If you really want to help, should provide AI help instead.

Check for updates? where is it?

I had one problem with the software when I could not easily find how to check for updates. In the past i remember there being a pop up to check for updates. this time I was prompted to check for updates before continuing but I couldn't remember where to find check for updates so i called TurboTax. While talking to the support person i remembered where it was.
