No longer awesome

I am extremely disappointed that TurboTax discontinued It's Deductible...particularly mid-year. This made completing the federal tax return input extremely difficult. Additionally, I was not allowed to upload It's Deductible information that I had already entered into that software between January and October. I may consider changing to H & R Block in the future.

TurboTax did not show new TAX deadline extention

TurboTax is always updating and it may look that it is up to date and keeps track of important Tax anointments. The truth is - it is NOT! It missed the important federal tax extension deadline for state of Tennessee to file taxes for 2025: https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/irs-announces-tax-relief-for-taxpayers-impacted-by-winter-storm-fern-in-tennessee-various-deadlines-postponed-to-may-22-2026. It is shame!

Great Overall but needs work on Rental Properties

Been using TT since 1998. A generally excellent product. The only thing I've ever found that needs to be fixed is how you handle personal use of vacation rental property. For example, if I use my property for 5% of the total rental days in 2025, TT assumes that same 5% personal use (and 95% business use applies to all past years. Not so. in 2024, my personal usage may have been 6% and perhaps it was 8% in 2023. TT's assumption that personal and business use percentages are the same every year results in errant calculations of depreciation. I realize this is all fixed in the final year of depreciation, but TT's method of handling this is wrong.

Turbo Tax is My Go-to Tax Preparatiom Software

Tax instructions were easy to understand and the program worked flawlessly. Have been using TurboTax for over 20 years and have never been disappointed. I have used TurboTax while self-employed as well as working for a employer and never had a problem. Keep up the good work!

Turbo tax is waste of money Truly sucks

New format makes it difficult to navigate. Deleted my 2024 Turbotax then told me I already had a key so would not even let me reinstall. Deleted last years titles of investments if not filled out immediately. Hopefully I had all the paperwork to repopulate. Demanded three digit code for state license document even though i have a temporary without one. When it said it would assist transfer for new computer sent to general help screen where incorrect assistance was first to be found

IS the plan to get rid of customers?

I have used Turbo Tax or over 15 years, and they just seem to be getting worse. First, they no longer have the running tabulation of what is due or will be returned on the top banner. Second, the "convenience charge" for asking to pay with your credit card is beyond absurd and illogical. If someone owes 1000, at your rate of 2.49%, they would be paying $31 to file. Considering most cards only GIVE 1 or 2%, it would actually be a loss. Finally, while there IS fine print, still trying to advertise "Free State" without the filing (an additional $25), is another example of being deceptive and trying to gouge customers at every turn. So MAJORLY disappointed after all these years.

Serious problem in Maryland TurboTax 2025

Maryland excludes a certain amount of pension income (such as IRA distributions) that are fully taxable as Federal income. The excludable amount is calculated in Worksheet 13a and reported on Forms 502 (line 10a) and 502R (line 11). However, TurboTax 2025 didn't include this exclusion as a choice in the list of incomes where Maryland differs from Federal. In our case, TurboTax didn't include any amount in 502 or 502R, and its final calculation showed us owing Maryland $12 rather than an actual refund of $2,400.

Data validation issue and form import issue

Data validation issue and form import issue...Import of 1099-DIV had errors with addresses that were not caught until final review and took two reviews to catch them all -- one was a checkbox not filled and then recipient street and city were not filled in. There was data in the field all x'd out so could not tell what it was but just entered street and city. Even though city was telling me initially it also needed at least 1 letter. Just hope it caught everything and doesn't get rejected.

FIND AN ACCOUNTANT

The worst ducking software that exists. Great idea but the number of upsells throughout, along with it promising that it will be able to efile but does not do it. Had to spend 2 hours with customer support to realize that if you need an attachment that needs to be included with your return, it won't Efile! Print it.

Glad to be done! Thanks for the help!

Had my returns completed except for one area. Software froze and I had a spinning wheel that would not go away. had to reboot computer to get TT working again. Not a big problem except that i had not saved my file and when I rebooted, i had a blank file and had to start over. took an additional 3 1/2 hours to do. But still easier than filing manually. Great program other than the glitch. Was this user or software error? LOL
