Generally good but the Desktop Deluxe version seems inferior to the next level versions I have used in the past in more than just guidance. It almost seems archaic in comparison. I had to go back several times to figure out why I was being led by the leash to where I was going. I had no problem saving my file easily as a PDF but make it easier to save in TurboTax's format so I can save it on a portable hard drive for use later (next year) on either a Windows or Apple computer. Not intuitive to have "print" being used to "save"! Also found it non-intuitive to just accept the fact that for some reason I wasn't getting the benefit of tax law changes until I used my personal knowledge when looking at the final product to determine the way income related to the calculations. It seems like there ought to be a better way to meet the needs of the customer. I'm likely more tax savvy than average as I have completed my taxes on paper "back in the day" and know how to complete the forms but at this rate I think I could file my taxes myself about as easily as I can using TurboTax Desktop Deluxe.

I have been a solid Turbo Tax user for many years, I found this year's preparation to be more challenging than in past years. My tax situation has changed significantly this year as did tax law. None-the-less I did not find this year's software to be as "uncomplicated' as in the past. This year I was not confidant when I filed. Some steps lacked information and/or instruction and made me feel very uninformed.

I always make tax payments online at IRS.gov. At the final stage of using TurboTax (desktop) I was forced to select from only four (4) payment methods: 1, bank debit; 2, credit card; 3, mail a check; 4, installment payment plan. I could not select online IRS.gov. I called TurboTax hep, and was told to select "mail a check" and then later just use my online method. This forces the user to misrepresent their intentions. A fifth option should also be offered: online payments.

FORM 1099 Q IS NOT A FRIENDLY AREA TO WORK WITH. THERE ARE ISSUES WITH LETTING THE TAX SOFTWARE . I COULD NOT FIND A WAY TO RECORD YEARLY COLLEGE EXPENCES SO THEY COULD BE DEDUCTED FROM THE MONEY REPORTED ON THE 1099 Q FORM. IN ORDER TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM OF PAYING TAXES ON WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN TAX FREE INCOME, I HAD TO COMPLETLY REMOVE THE INFORMATION CONCERNING THE 1099Q FORM. YOU NEED TO CLEAR THIS ISSUE UP. IT WAS VERY FRUSTRATING.

Way more complicated than H&R Block and couldn't change an incorrect PIN when e-filing, so kept getting rejected. By the time all the costs of the whole filing experience, was almost that of filing with an accountant. Will NOT be using this program next year.

Turbo Tax just isn't improving. This is essentially the same product I stared using in 2013. I used AI this year extensively to answer questions (and even flow) that TurboTax should have answered. I also used AI to find deductions that turbo tax missed!! TurboTax is vey much like Quicken. In it's day, it was great.

I have been using TurboTax for many years now, and I have never had anything but great results...The guidance of the software allows for accuracy with such ease of use - all while giving assistance to any questions that may arise with links to help topics. The software always guides me to my maximum refund with a minimum audit risk - all while taking far less time than before I ever used this software!

Data entry was straight forward and easy. My 2024 tax return data was pulled into my 2025 return flawlessly. Fed data rolled into the VA state return with little effort on my part. Error checking picked up a couple items that needed to be clarified. I expect electronic submission of returns to proceed smoothly.

The interface and filing to federal and state systems was very good, except as a new filer, defining what type of program I needed and the differences between the programs could have been easier. The TT system kept looping me back to the same page which didn't really answer the questions. Same with the chat bot.

TurboTax is as reliable as ever. I've used it for 40+ years and never been disappointed. This year encountered a software problem - the program froze and displayed an error message. There was no way to proceed. The automated system recommended a fix, that did not fix. I called requesting live tech support. After a frustratingly long wait, the tech was able to get everything working properly again. High marks for TutboTax tech support.
