We have used TurboTax for years and have been satisfied. However, this year the quality and accuracy of the service was terrible. There were many mistakes, missing features (like the ItsDeductable service), and there were many unexpected fees - in particular, after being told that e-file was free, it then said to pay $40 to e-file for a processing fee. Not only that, but we already paid for the software beforehand. We were very disappointed, to say the least, and won't be returning to use TurboTax for any future year.

The software is fine. The account system and actually getting it installed is nightmarish to say the least. The worst part of all is they chose to have the software not even work by making it incompatible for Windows 10, which is simply unacceptable. Not working is the worst case scenario. Make Turbo Tax 2026 work with Windows 10, having it not... is pretty much unforgivable.

Customer services provided by Turbo Tax are extremely helpful, especially the interface with live agent assist me greatly to overcome the software glitch smoothly. Agent Brittany R. was incredibly kind, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure my issue was fully resolved. I’m so very grateful for her professionalism. Disappointed with the user interface. Not intuitive at all, less-so than 2024. Found ourselves going around in circles navigating to specific portions of broader groupings. Annoying that program keeps repeatedly re-asking same questions when going back and forward. We understand dependencies require that sometimes. I'm a software engineer with 40+ years experience. Poorly designed UI. Today's chatbots can even write it better. Just one (of many) suggestions: When editing a financial institution form, always place the account name at the top so you know what account you are in (and also for the subsequent follow-up questions.) Ending on a positive note, content and ability to calculate taxes appears to work OK.

I have been using turbo tax for close to two decades. It's easy. However, this year I had an issue transmitting my return. I called turbo tax and spoke with Kashe Emma. She was so kind, helpful and understanding. Not only did she help me, she reassured me that everything would be ok. Her calmness helped me calm down. Kashe is a real gem. Her customer service is excellent. She truly is an asset to your company. She deserves a pay increase. Give her a pay increase.

TurboTax created frustration in the process often when the situation slightly complicated. I have no choice to keep with TurboTax since it is the only software I have been used for many years. If you just are starting to pick the tax return software, I suggest you explore the different software before you lock with one app.

What i filled out from the previous page, e.g., navigation isn't super intuitive if you haven't used TT before. For example, from the forms, there isn't really a home page or something to quickly return to income, deductions, etc. I knew to click on the easy form icon at the top of the page to find where I wanted to go.

I have been using TurboTax for years, my main gripe with it is being forced to print out 41 pages of semi-useless worksheets when I end up with a standard deduction anyway. The choice to just print returns should do just that instead of adding the other stuff I can keep in the computer if I need it in the future.

Turbotax is fine for simple tax returns, but if you have to deal with something like community property (for spouses in different states), then you end up filling out paperwork manually. If you're not the spouse who lives in the community property state then you even have to trick the software into letting you enter the information by changing your residence to a different state, and then changing your residence back.

Every year we've used TurboTax Deluxe it's been easy to use, guides us through the process, picks up the information from the previous year which is convenient. The accuracy of the program is also comforting knowing the tax forms are submitted correctly.
