(answer: go back to the start of returns and choose "mail in" for federal AFTER you have already e-filed, and play through until it lets you print the mail-in form for the state.) Software is unable to handle refinancing a mortgage properly. Asks the right questions, calculates the amortized points correctly on the worksheet, but does not fill in Schedule A item 8c. Had I not found and overridden this value, this bug would have cost me thousands. If the desktop version has such a simple bug, I can only imagine how bad the stripped down online version is at getting me all the proper deductions and credits. Seems all the effort went into trying to up-sell the user to a higher level version that isn't needed, buy the expert review ad-on, or the state e-file add-on. Would be better if it the development effort was spent making sure it could do your taxes correctly. If there was any competing software that wasn't worse I would buy that.

Had to use online AI help throughout the "guided" process making the money spent seem fruitless. I won't use TurboTax again. Additionally, the repeated attempts to spend another $60 for "help" is insult to injury. Not the TurboTax of years past and definitely not worth the money spent.

We e-filed our Federal return but wanted to mail our state return, however, the software would not let us do both. In order for me to print our state for mailing, I had to go back to File and select Print for mailing for both Federal and State. Then it did give me an option to only print state. The software does show that our Federal was e-filed, so we are good there. A lot of users will not figure out how to do this. We don't owe the state nor do we have a refund, so we didn't want to spend $20 for nothing.

I moved for VA to SC during 2025. I personally found Turbo Tax more difficult to work with than prior years. I filed my returns but I'm still not finding or understanding how to process selling a home is Va and buying a home in SC from a capital gains perspective. My bad and I'll have to contact a local tax expert to validate my assumptions.

For the most part, the turbo tax contained all information I required to complete tax return. Due to thoroughness of information contained in questions and/or lookup information, I feel confident my ability to complete and respond to turbo tax "script" correctly resulted in production of low risk returns.

I had some difficulty loading TurboTax to my computer this year. For some reason, I could see the file, but the return start page didn't show up. I kept trying to load it, and I ended up with two files. The other confusing part was the start page trying to encourage filing on your website, whereas I had purchased the package from a retail store and didn't want to avail myself of your website. It doesn't seem as secure. I did like the $10 credit plus the ease of using the program once I was able to start me returns. The ease of e-filing is so nice. The return is calculated accurately, and the topics offer goo guidance.

If you start a section just to view it and then decide not to complete that section, it will automatically show up on your return sent to the IRS---- this happens every year. Come on Turbo Tax---- Surely you guys can do much better to fix your software so that this does not continue to occur each and every year !!!

I had to open the instructions for form so many times and read and read them over and over again because there was no help like in previous version of turbo tax. There should be a what does this mean and where on my documents i can find the information. The only thing turbotax offers is more lawyer written language and an option to give more money to TurboTax for obtaining help.

Great product but I was charged to file my state return even though I paid for the deluxe turbotax with state download. I have never been charged in the past to file the state download which I paid for. This is either a mistake with the software of very deceiving.

I was unable to import TIAA financial information 1099B, etc and Charles Schwab same. You need to make this easier i bit disappointed i had to hand type all my stock trades along with buy dates. Also, connection seemed to hang when trying 2FA to verify me. I was fully logged in and still unable to import. I'm a bit unhappy having to be charged for efile for my state taxes trying to efile now and your server unable to accept. YOu need to integrate AI better into your chats. asked a reasonable question but your system didn't respond with even close to answer.
