State E-file fee is taking advantage of customers

Making the calculations correctly is difficult for both me and Intuit, and I am willing to pay for that. Filing on paper is time-consuming for me, but the cost for Intuit to support e-filing in New Jersey (or any other state) should be very low. Charging a state filing fee comparable to the cost of the calculations, and portraying it as “only $25", seems like taking advantage of customers.

TurboTax is GREAT!!!

I have used TurboTax for the last three years on the same computer with no problems. This year the program could not find the files from last year so it could not in import info from last year AND I was not able to compare this years input with last years as I worked. Other than that I use TurboTax because it's the best tax program available. THANK YOU!!!

Turbox Can Stand Improvement

I've used this program for more than 20 years. Somehow it is less intuitive than in the past. Also you are informed there are no errors in the review process. Then when you go to e-file you're informed you are missing info. Then you first have to figure out how to correct it. Worst yet, you're asked for info. in a 1099R box that has nothing in it. Seriously?!?!

Not as good as years past

Getting any help is ridiculously non-existent. Looks like the only way is if I purchase another $60 item. I just want my taxes filed. They were rejected and what TT puts in does not match what was printed out. TT really dropped bigt ime this year. Been using it for years with no problem. This year worthless. This is the last year I use TT. It really upset me you took ItsDeductable away. This made things a lot more difficult. Also, some of the figures that were transferred from last year did not match up with what was on the printed copy. Specifically, AGI. There were some areas that were more confusing. This year you asked for the AGI of myself and my wife separately yet this did not show anywhere on my printed return.

Layman's terms needed

I had to open the instructions for form so many times and read and read them over and over again because there was no help like in previous version of turbo tax. There should be a what does this mean and where on my documents i can find the information. The only thing turbotax offers is more lawyer written language and an option to give more money to TurboTax for obtaining help.

Lost some of its shine

It may be my particular tax issues this year, but it seems to that more issues were harder to find the solution than in the past. On the plus side, it is great to have 30 years of tax history stored away so I never need to dig though old dusty returns to find information needed this year.

Excess charges to file yet again and e-filing $45

For the second year in a row, surprise charges are being charged for an already paid service or fee filing. Last year I was charged an additional $180 for a simple return, now a bank company want $45 to get my refund. Also, I couldn't e-file because the dash for the employer ID should be a number and there is no room for an additional number (space). Never again will I trust this company. It is too much trouble!

Seems to get ore difficult to use every year.

It does not do a good job of automatically pulling in investment information. In the past almost all investments could be electronically downloaded. The new format for the investment info is not as good as it was in the past. Even when the investment info is pulled in it does not delete out the previous year making it difficult to determine what was done. Also hard to than see the detail. Difficult to log into Intuit as the screen disappears and than you have to manually get in.

Turbo Tax has changed in 2025

It was going well but some of the questions I didn't really know how to answer but after doing some google searching, I was able to get it done. The Turbo tax deluxe (computer app not online) is the cheapest option for a tax return. P.S. I didn't use the specialist that cost extra.

TurboTax is just okay

Overall a good tax prep tool to have. What I don't like about this product is the constant marketing to get you to buy more services. I've paid for the desired product, that should have been enough. Also, the fee to use Intuits payment services is higher then other similar providers for the same service.
