I have used turbotax for about 30 years. I am not pleased that year after year, I need to split out my tax exempt interest items in my 1099 from my taxable items into a separate 1099 to make my taxes work. Fix This! My Schwab OID forms also did not import and I needed to input them manually. Fix This! And when I went to first import my 1099 forms from Schwab, it requested access to my home network. Why does Turbotax need access to my home network?! I rejected this, and the import did not work. It did work when I went into my browser settings to allow this. still do not understand why Turbotax needs access to my home network to import these documents. And why didn't Turbotax warn me that they needed this access to import my documents?

This is the first time in several years that I needed to use the Premier version of the software. I got confused when I first opened the software as I thought I needed to proceed with an online filing. Realized after I had entered a lot of personal data that I should have chosen the desk top version. I started a desk top return and completed successfully however my online return is still sitting there and it should be deleted.

Changes have been made to TTax. Did not like process for inputting income. Continued to ask if I wanted to import, told me items needed review but didn't allow me to open and edit. Would not allow me to delete old payer info if I did things out of (your) order. Also, after I finally deleted some old payer info, it kept reappearing. Preparing taxes was more painful this year than in past years.

Did not communicate with you. Couldn't download 1099-R forms this time. TurboTax seemed to push me into purchasing something else rather than letting me move on. Sometime my mouse wouldn't work and I would have to touch the screen. I've used TurboTax for decades and this was the most challenging.

I had to use ChatGPT to understand that long term capital gains from the sale of stock of a foreign corporation are considered U.S. income and not foreign source income. Thus, these gains should not serve to adjust passive foreign dividend income reported on a Form 1099-DIV

Ugly interface, and buggy, too. Crashed multiple times on an up-to-date Mac and somehow forgot to ask multiple state-required questions by the end so I had to go back and manually answer them. Multiple tax forms that I needed did not appear so I had to search manually. Even simple text input while writing this review is bugging out. And they have the gall to keep trying to squeeze extra money out of you throughout the process. I'm disgusted and will use the much more easy-to-use free options that are now available. The 2025 version works a lot better than previous versions, in that for a joint return the interface doesn't ask for spouse tax liability amounts anymore. This hung-up e-file for me for many years as every year the returns were rejected because I entered a number for the spouse information. So, I had to assemble and print out paper returns to file.

I have used Turbo tax for more than 12 yrs. This years features were much more difficult to navigate and downloading was terrible. I had to go back and forth to my Intuit account to get the software activated. Older version downloaded and requested license code on the activation. Frustrating and not as compatible with HP new software.

On my laptop, the Skip Import button is out of sight at the bottom of the screen when you have entered something that triggers that option. It feels like a dead end when importing is not an option until you finally scroll down and see the Skip button. It would be helpful to first have a screen asking if you want to import or skip, and then follow that with either the import list or the next screen for entering the data yourself.

This year's software was awful. Screens were frequently skipped over and if I didn't know what I was already doing would have never known to go back. Information was imported correctly from W-2's or banking data. I was asked questions about last year's return when my previous year's return was already imported. I could go on and on about all the errors this year but the tl,dr is dont attempt this software unless you have some background in doing your taxes
