You can go buy a plastic shelf at other stores for $49-$69 which can hold a couple hundred pounds. This thing can hold 800 pounds with the wheels installed or 6,000 pounds, that 3 TONS, without the wheels. I couldn't make a set of shelves out of wood, that could hold that much for under $100!

These came highly recommended by a friend, and I really like them, too. I found them difficult to put together--it's awkward to get started, the instructions are not clear, and I think the first one I put together is not as solid as it could be. But the second one was much easier and faster, and it is very solid. (Hints: It's easier to put the casters/wheels on AFTER it's assembled, contrary to the written instructions. Otherwise it just rolls around while you put it together. And make sure the locking plastic clips are really together and snug in place before adding the shelves. You WILL want to use a rubber mallet....) I really like that I can roll it around easily, which means I can line them out and pull one out as I need to access it. For the money, these are handsome, solid units, and I recommend them.

I bought one of these several years ago. Then I decided one was not nearly enough. I think I have purchased at least seven of these over the years and truth be told I would love to order at least two more. The quality is excellent. I would not want to try it but I bet you could exceed the 600 pound limit on these. I like the fact that I can roll them around easily. I have some of these in my garage and if I need to make space for a project I just roll these out of the way. the wheels are lockable which is another thing I like about these. Sam's has an excellent price on these. I've seen shelves similar to these elsewhere but lower in quality and much higher in price. Honestly I do not see how sam's can sell these at the price they do.

Overall it is a decent product. However, don't be surprised if you place in those clamps and they are not perfectly leveled with the other 3 poles. Especially, when it comes to putting the clamps at the bottom nearest the wheels / feet of this product.

I would recommend this product. The price is extremely reasonable, item easy to assemble with two people, sturdy and I really like that this item includes the shelf liners. You can set the distance between shelves to meet your needs. This is our second purchase for this product to store items in our basement. The first one has held up well and exceeded expectations.

I ordered two of these. I bought them because they were on sale for $20 off each. I was charged the full, regular price. I had to place a 20 minute call to get the $40 credited. The customer service lady in the Philippines acted like she did me a favor. One of the units arived with the box broken open. The zip ties holding the sheves together had been cut or broken. There was a connector piece pre-installed cross threaded. I had to use a vise and a rubber mallet to remove and straighten it. After assembly one of the legs is half an inch off the ground. I had to unscrew the wheel a half inch to make it level. It was assembled exactly the way the other legs were That is not how it is supposed to be. The other unit is as it should be.

I purchased tonight in store, due to the horror stories about these racks being delivered. My mistake. Hauled this rack all the way home, and upstairs, to discover two of the shelves are bent beyond repair. Contacted online support, and was told that they can only assist delivery customers. After a lot of consideration, decided there's no way I'm lugging this behemoth all the way back to the store. I'm now owner of 2/3rds of a rack system, as the other two shelves are scrap metal. I'm sure it was packed this way, as I purposely picked the most beautiful box from within the stack at the store, but either way, I've payed stupid tax, and will now be assembling any future purchase of these racks, in the store's parking lot, before bringing home. That'd be my suggestion for you, if you want to avoid a headache.

These shelves are actually 47 inches wide, 45 inches between the poles if you plan to use storage containers and slightly less than 18 inches deep, with only 15.5 inches between the poles. I have to either return the shelves or get smaller storage totes

Our family has at least eight of these shelving units! They are strong, sturdy, easy to assemble (and disassemble when moving to a new city like we just did), plus they come with shelf liners that are so necessary and helpful. I do not like to store ANYTHING directly on the floor, especially in an area where dampness can cause damage. I recently made a special trip two hours away to pick up another one of these shelves for our garage when our local store in our new city was out of stock on this item... that's how much we value this shelf and it's quality. Other stores carry 'similar' shelving, but don't typically come with the shelf liners which are precut to fit.

I purchased this yesterday and today laid out all the pieces as directed. In doing so, found one of the bottom posts was defective in that the threaded insert had been installed in the wrong end and the wheel insert was the incorrect thickness on the other end. We tried to figure out how to make it work if we skipped the double line on the 3 good posts, but they did not line up so the shelves would not be level. I called the number on the back of the instructions and was on hold for 20 minutes and then got auto disconnected. I then called my local store and explained the situation and asked if i could just bring back the defective piece and have someone open another box and give me a good post and return the package by adding the defective piece. She said no, I could bring the whole unit back for refund and purchase another one. She said I might try main Customer Service number for Sam's and so I called them. When I finally got through to a real person, they suggested I call the Members Mark Customer Service No. so I did that. A 30 minute hold until I got a real person. This CSR said they could order me the replacement part through the mfr but it would be 10 to 15 days. I remind you that I have methodically unpacked every component and it is strewn on my garage floor. The other option was to return the entire system and exchange for another unit. He gave me a reference no to do that. I told him I am 75 years old and I would have to load up the individual pieces, (the shelves are very heavy) and then would I have to unload when I got to my store and he said yes. This return system is totally unacceptable. A mfr should expedite shipping of a defective component and Sams should make that part of the Purchasing Agreement they have with a mfr. Rather than take a chance on exchanging a unit and finding another defective or missing component(s), I decided to pick up another unit, bring it home, open the box in the back of my car and get out the post to replace the defective one and then return that system, still in the original packaging, for a refund. At least while still in the box, I could take my neighbor, who would help me lift the 120lb box out of my suv onto a flat cart. I won't be buying anything requiring assembly from Sams again.
