I don't get the hate

I put this off for months because of bad reviews, but I've been loving every second of this game. The gameplay is fun, the characters are enjoyable, the story has some genuinely hilarious scenes in it, and we FINALLY got the "Pokemon Z" we've been waiting for since XY first came out.

It took a while to write a full review to be honest, my young sibling and cousin really enjoy this game. It looked fun and they had fun. Honest I do recommend cause it looks fun. It’s a new way to play pokemon,

I was not expecting to even buy

So ever since the title was released I was not impressed. More so because it was another legends title and I didn't really enjoy Arceus. So buying this was very down on my list. But after speaking with a couple friends I decided to buy and boy am I glad i did. This game is amazing. The story brings X/Y together and it is a good way to give the box legend some shine. All in all I highly recommend this game.

Closest to TV show!

It's the closest a Pokemon game has ever gotten to the TV show. Your Pokemon can actually interfere with other Pokemon's moves, it's not just turn based gameplay anymore. Graphics are slightly choppy, especially when you are coming from further away, but in general I'm pleased with the game.

I think this game should be given a chance. I originally hadn't planned on buying it since I'd only heard negative stuff about scarlet and violet, which bled into z-a impressions as well. I hadn't bought a pokemon game since USUM, but this game is honestly really fun after you get past the tutorial in the beginning. The game isn't glitchy and runs fine on a switch 1. I think it's a little scummy about the DLC stuff and missing out on mega evolutions if you don't pay for their online subscription, but aside from that I've really enjoyed it. (I don't plan on paying for Nintendo online, I think it's a little ridiculous.)

10/10 For the Pokémon lover in your life

I bought this as a gift for my fiancée because he loves Pokémon and this was one of the games he had mentioned to me would be releasing soon and he absolutely loved everything about this game so if you’re looking for a good gift for a Pokémon lover in your life I would recommend picking up this game.

Got this as a Christmas gift for my 9 yr old son but the whole family has loved playing it and my best friend's kids also got it so there's been a lot of talking about how far each has gotten, what Pokémon they've found; caught, battled, etc. Perfect game for Pokémon fans!

If you get this game as an adult be prepared to get disappointed. Gamefreak has ripped away all aspects of the tried and true formula pokemon fans have came to love over the decades. Npcs aren't engaging, Side quests are mind numbingly easy, Pokemon battles are just button mash until you win, the city isn't even engaging to roam around in, no jumping, no bikes or rollar skates to ride with, can't even ride pokemon like they let you in the first legends title. To any fan out there that reads this and gets offended, these are all valid criticisms. To anyone else reading this, spend your money elsewhere, this title is seriously not worth it for the price tag.

Forced Clunky Bracelet That Ruins All Outfits

I enjoyed this game up until mission 9. It was somewhat boring and repetitive as it's not an open world game and the tutorial before you can buy outfits is about two hours long, but I like pokemon and the anime style graphics, as well as the fact that our characters can be made to look older as opposed to past games. However, after mission 9, your character permanently is forced to wear a gigantic, thick, clunky mega evolution bracelet that you can't take off or hide, even with long sleeves. It ruins every outfit and is so ugly. The big appeal of this game was supposed to be the outfits and customization, but the bracelet ruins that completely. There's no way to take it off or change it to make it blend in. My character is also male, which makes the bracelet look even more out of place and odd with my outfits. Even women won't like it though, it's enormous and clunky. I can't even bring myself to keep playing the game because it ruins the whole appeal, which was supposed to be dressing your character up in the fashion capital of the pokemon world. I had the way my character looks with the bracelet no matter what outfits I wear. I'm done. Not worth the time, energy, emotion, or money until they remove the bracelet. Overall, the storyline and characters are very boring and flat compared to Scarlet/Violet. The outfits are mostly great, minus forced stripes on everything, but the bracelet ruins it. Not a fan of live battles either, takes the strategy and importance of stat boosting moves out of the equation and there's lag. Also miss the move animations that are no longer there. Not worth the money until at minimum the remove the bracelet so the aesthetic and customization appeal can work.

Clunky Battle control, hard to re-aim

1. other games in the same system has way better graphic 2. control if clunky, there are battles where you lose the aim and difficult to aim so your Pokemon faints even though your strategy is good. I'm a Pokemon fan but I think this is the worst Pokemon game ever made.
