Been using TurboTax (Desktop, Deluxe) product for DECADES. This 2025 version brought me two VERY disturbing problems: 1) "Hmm, looks like we've hit a snag." pop-up WIPED OUT the years of CONFIDENCE I had using TurboTax to produce my tax returns PROPERLY. 2) The same .tax2025 file I last closed, having PRINTED the 1040 w/ STANDARD DEDUCTION ($31,500)... auto-decided to SWAP me to the ITEMIZED DEDUCTION (~$14,200), which (a) somehow got me about $120 'more' from the FEDs... and (b) WIPED OUT the years of CONFIDENCE I had using TurboTax.

Software is fine. There seem to be some changes to questions that made things less intuitive than previous years. When submitting forms. I had the same issue as other people where you could not enter the month for expiration date on credit card. This needs to get fixed, I will look at another company.

Really bad guidance on State Taxes. Also, there is a charge to file State before e-filing then if there is a complication in e-filing you are required to request and wait to get the charge amount back. Simple checks in the program before charging should have noted that e-filing was not allowed.

I found the program user friendly with the step by step process. I have been a turbotax user for decades. I found the help menu a bit lacking this year. I had to research some of my responses on the internet a few times as I choose to not have to pay an additional fee for help through turbotax assistants.. I never want to use the cloud version, so please continue offering us the option to save and use our program on our own computers. Thank you.

I've used Turbotax for many years. This year I found it more complicated. Perhaps the format/look of each page was different which gave me pause. Some items were not explained as clearly as in the past and it was difficult to find help. So either I wasn't as astute as in other years or changes in the program made filing more difficult.

e-Filing (Fed & State) needs some attention. Before selecting e-filing, a notice window should pop up, to prepare the user to answer several follow-on prompts (e.g., PINs, Refund processing fees, and error corrections). Users shouldn't have to search (e.g., Google) for a short explaination of Refund options, while interacting with navigating the TurboTax's e-File process. Selecting the pay fees using the Federal refund comes with an extra cost and sharing private information.

I don't like being offered upgrades during the return process - just let me get my tax returns done. When paying taxes due, I was sent to the Maryland state payment site but it did not take me back to TurboTax. After about 5 minutes, I used the back button (yeah, I know), I got a "payment didn't go through" error message, so I put in the same information a second time and it processed successfully. It still didn't take me back to TT so I used my tabs to return to the program to file the returns electronically. I found this unnecessarily confusing. I do like the feature that imports last year's data and having the option to import financial data from outside sources.

Turbo Tax Sucked this year. I have used Turbo Tax for 6 years in a row and this is the 1st year that I had to enter all of my information manually. It would not import any of my docs and it was a pain in the butt!! Plus I had to buy a new computer because it will only run on Windows 11. Not Happy!!

I have been doing our taxes and for another family member via TurboTax for decades. I love TurboTax. It is one of the benchmark apps that is consistently great. It allows me to ge as deep into tax things as I need to or want to. The Community system is great for sorting out weird situations. I have used that in years when I was doing an estate, a business and other complicated things. Doing taxes makes me unhappy because of the waste and fraud by the governments. But, Turbo Tax makes it easier and saves me lots of money.
