FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER, IT APPEARED THE SOFTWARE HAD A GLITCH; IT KEPT SAYING I CANNOT FILE OR TRANSMIT AN AMENDED RETURN,WITHOUT FILING AN ORIGINAL, BUT I DID NOT ATTEMPT DO THAT. ALSO, IT CAME UP WITH A TAX PAYMENT OF APPROX. 3,400.00 TO NEW YORK STATE WHICH I HAD NEVER SEEN BEFORE. MY WIFE'S NYC TEACHER'S PENSION OF APPROX. $74,000, A MAJOR PART OF OUR NY INCOME, IS NOT TAXABLE IN NYS. I FINALLY GOT RID OF THE "AMENDED FORM" NOTICE SO I COULD TRANSMIT IT, BUT I WOULD LIKE AN ANALYSIS DONE FROM TURBO TAX. THANK YOU.

This is my 4th year using TurboTax so you'd think I'd be familiar with the program. This year was no different in that I needed to Contact Customer to walk me thru the process to ensure I was on the Desktop version, and not the Online Version; also needed Customer Service to locate and activate the pre-paid program fee. Once in, the program efficiently walked me thru the process. The program asks good questions directing me to required info to enter. When completing the tax return, you need to understand that you are required to pay for the program before you are able preview or print your return.

it was useful software but the transfer of info from stock/bonds info was lacking when it came to digital asset area. Had to go and verify manually whether it was a digital asset or not based on worksheet forms. This was not apparent until digital asset name question and if it was digital asset or not question came up during review phase. Then did not know how to fixed until I went to help center and researched. Some none digital assets stocks were not answered at all. This year was rather frustrating compared to previous years.

So scanning in everything and the process was okay, but I tried us the online version and when my W2 was imported the program switched my state taxable income with stat tax paid, which then initially reported I would get a $100,000+ refund from the state. I couldn't track it down with the online version so I had to revert to the desktop to get it correct in the worksheet. It was an import from a photo scan but what an error and I missed out on getting a free state filing. Made a stressful process even more of hassle and I can only hope it is all accurate.

i feel it provides me with a good & accurate way to do taxes. I like the idea of downloading documents from my financial institutions. i like that the program guides me through the return. Federal taxes have become very hard to understand and do. it seems to me they used to be easier to file at one time, because at one time I actually sis taxes by hand.

Turbo Tax has been great up until this year. Now, the "It's Deductible" to figure the amounts of non-cash charitable contributions is no longer included. This means we have to use outside sources to figure the values of contributions. I will be looking at other tax software programs to use next year.

In past years, I have not had any issues using TurboTax. This year, we did not get the $10 promotional credit, and the IRS is mailing our refund. We paid extra for early delivery, and our E-File specified direct deposit. Our state return was delivered to our account without a problem. You cannot get any response from a human at Intuit, and their AI Bot is useless. It appears that their software is not really working all that well this year. I overpaid for what I received and regret purchasing TurboTax. After 15 years of filing with this program, I will look for a different option next year. If you are thinking about TurboTax for 2025, you might want to look for something else.

I went to sign up for the free audit coverage but the part of the screen at the bottom where it shows to submit, or next, or whatever doesn't show. It is too far down and I can't see it. Therefore I could not submit. And verification of address, phone had the same problem. It was not a matter of scrolling down.

Overall, I would guess it's improved, but you still ask what I would call dumb questions, especially when you have access to last years return. It's annoying, and unsettling because I stop and wonder why you are asking that question. You have improved, you used to ask way more, but no dumb questions would be the goal. It also might be time to get AI help, because I use ChatGPT a lot, and find it amazing, even live changing. Having an AI option to ask questions with, might be a huge jump into the future for you. I would even pay a small premium to have access to that sort of feature/assistance and help.

I was unable to find how to put a check after the Statement that appears on the 1040SR just underneath the SS#'s. It states: Check here if your main home, and your spouse's if filing a joint return, was in the US for more than half of 2025. So it is blank but it should have a check. The return was e-filed today.
