[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently received the Arlo Essential Pan Tilt Outdoor Security Camera with 2K Plug-in. I’m not new to Arlo cams since we use them at my folks house. Quality seems on par with their models. Being this is a newer model than theirs which is HD. Clearly, I’d say the image is way better- but it’s only 2k image vs my preferred preference of a 4k security camera. Anyhoo, set was easy- created a new account for this one at my house and the entire layout of the app is different from the other Arlo cameras set up on my folks account. It also did a pop up mentioning a subscription is required after the free 60 days is up. I’m hoping it will offer a free subscription that my folks are on- but that’s to be determined and I will circle back to update my findings on that. I’m still testing it out and determining where we are installing this camera - out front or out in the back patio. Thankfully long enough cord is supplied so hopefully shouldn’t be too difficult for placement. I believe the next step will be investing in another one so we can just have extra layer of security and piece of mind especially with the new features of auto detecting people, vehicles, animals, and even packages ! I Love that! As always I’m super grateful for this product especially since it was complimentary! Will be put into use and look forward to recommending it to others.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the size and look of this security camera. Nice app features, but unsure how valuable it will be to us without the paid subscription. I’d like it for our garage but you’d need a really long cord to plug it in. Nice and easy to mount and good video quality for day and night. Like the motion detection and tilt features and AI integration.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just installed this into my garage to look over my boat in dirt bikes to make sure no one comes by and try to grab them. It works great because it has motion detection. It’s also able to see when the lights are off. I’m also able to control it from an app on my phone. It’s also excellent because I can move the camera in all directions from my phone. Highly recommend and I will be adding more cameras throughout the house.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We already had the basic fixed Arlo security cameras on a couple corners of our house, so I was very excited to try this tilt & pan version! (All of our Arlo cameras have been outside for years and no issues- great weather resistance!) Let me say that this new version makes me want to replace every single one with an upgraded 360 pan/tilt!! Wow- I was floored after it began following me around the patio for the first time- I thought my husband was controlling the app, but nope! It’s 100% Automatic and follows motion all by itself!! Incredible. Setup was very easy- and you’re able to set a “home” position as well in case you don’t get the positioning right on install. I believe there is only a wired version- because it might drain a wireless battery quickly- but I love the fact that we’ll never have to worry about changing this camera battery! We’ve never had issues with the Arlo system either, and I suggest if you ever have connection issues- it may be too far from a WiFi router- not an actual camera/system issue. (We had a competitor doorbell for years and Arlo is significantly better so we switched several years ago). This is a perfect camera for a patio or backyard that may extend past the view of a 180 degree fixed camera. Non-stop power for a security camera like this is a no-brainer deal! Buy it if you have a spot near an outlet! (The cord length is also very generous)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love this camera. We set it up in our carport to monitor the driveway and carport area. It notifies me if there is a car, person, animal or package and tells you which one it is. It also moves with the person so it covers a large area. The video is really clear and great quality. I will be purchasing a couple more for the front of the house and the rear of the house. I highly recommend this security camera specially for peace of mind while not at home.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Plug in is nice but complicated to get in places outside that doesn't have plug option readily available. Angle is great has swivel option. Picture is good enough but would like clearer. That all said decided to move indoors and use for the front now that I have more people coming in and out and actually is a great solution! Would continue using and like that doesn't need crazy set up

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Mathis camera was very easy to set. The app downloaded fast and walked me thru the setup. In no time I had eyes on what was happening in my livings room. The quality of the video is great. The camera provides high resolution picture with a short delay. The person detection feature is amazing. The camera recognizes that I was in the room and immediately started following me. The box includes an adopter which alllows the used to install the camera on a wall or ceiling. I will keep this camera on the shelf in the living room but totally would consider buying an extra one to install outside on the porch by the front door.

I've been using the Arlo Essential Pan Tilt Outdoor Security Camera for a while, and overall the hardware quality is very good. The 2K video resolution is sharp and clear, both during the day and at night. Night vision works well, and the pan and tilt feature allows you to cover a wide area, which is very convenient for outdoor monitoring. The installation itself is simple, and the camera looks modern and well made. Motion alerts are accurate, and the camera tracks movement smoothly. However, the biggest downside for me is the Arlo app subscription. Without a paid plan, many key features are limited, and it's almost impossible to fully use the camera as intended. I don't like that the product depends so heavily on a monthly subscription, especially after paying for the cameras themselves. Overall, great camera quality and performance, but the required paid app subscription is a significant drawback.
