This comes in four big boxes weighing around 170lbs.each. All boards and hardware are labeled well. Me and a friend pre assembled most of it during the week in my garage. Brought in some more muscle on Saturday to carry the assembled pieces out back to the patio. With three guys we had it up and anchored in about 3 hours. Follow the instructions and lay everything out according to part numbers and you will be fine. Pre assembling saved a lot of time on Saturday.

I ordered the 10x12 pergola in early June 2020. It arrived in a couple weeks very neatly packed in 2 large, heavy boxes. We unpacked all parts and pieces and laid them out to verify all parts were there (they were) and to confirm everything was in good shape (it was). We took the suggestion of others and sealed all of the wood prior to installation. We completed the installation over 3 evenings, working a couple hours each night. It is definitely suggested to have 3 sets of hands to assist with the first few steps of the getting the joists installed to the posts. The directions were fine, and the installation is pretty simple and straightforward however the worst part of the entire project is the hardware. Most of the predrilled holes lined up (seems like this was an issue for many) but we had many cases where the bolt would not thread into the hub piece. Very frustrating although we got it to work out but had to throw an extra deck screw into a couple locations. The little joist end pieces, which are only decorative, were the worst part of the entire install as the hardware issues we had made for putting these up very difficult. When completed the pergola really looks good and we are certainly happy with the purchase. As others have stated the wood is very soft and light. We love the stain color and as you’ll see the wood is very aromatic. Be cautious when installing the purlins as we used an impact driver and if not careful it will drive the screw deep into the wood. For the price paid this is a really nice and functional pergola. If they sort out the hardware this will be a really great setup.

We've had this for awhile now. It's not exactly what the intended use was going to be, but we decided to go with an entertainment space (was originally doubled to use as covered carport but my SUV was too big). We are very pleased. It is well built (though the top boards could be a little sturdier). It has ample room for entertainment space and we've really enjoyed using it! It was also super easy to put together.

I finally bought this pergola and my husband and sons put it together and it looked beautiful.... for a while. I put a green metal roof on mine because it sits around trees. Still beautiful, but the woodpeckers LOVE this wood. I have holes everywhere even with a fake owl and a wind chime. Then one fall day, a tree branch came down and smashed one side. My husband says he can repair it. I had ceramic tile and lights under the top and loved its look. Hope it can be rehabbed. Good purchase if found on a deal. Woodpeckers will destroy it.

After doing lots of research I decided to go with the 14x13 Beaumont pergola from BackYard Discovery. Boy amI happy I did! Delivery was pretty quick, kept me informed at each step, and the three cartons arrived in pristine condition. It was real easy to then transfer the pieces from the front of my house to the back patio and sort them into their clearly marked designation. Assembly instructions were very clear. It took my wife and myself about 5 hours in total to assemble the whole thing! No real heavy lifting except at the point the ends get “stood up” but even that was well within our capability to manage. End result is beautiful and the envy of the neighborhood! Added some lights and furniture and voila we have our backyard oasis complete!

I love my new pergola. It's like having my oun outdoor restaurant table. When friends come over everyone wants to sit outside. It went together easily and we waterproofed it. It is the centerpiece of my backyard and ads value to my home. I recomend getting one. Fabulous!

Our home is always changing--inside & out; & every change creates a new "pop":. This time we added a room!! It all started after switching out the last section of old board decking to brick, matching the rest of the existing bricked deck--improving both the look & function of our yard. But, looking out at the expanse of this all brick deck, even with colorful furniture & our usual riot of plants, something was missing. Somehow, we needed to frame that section, a place where we entertain and also shelter a lot of plants. (I'm a gardener). It's Florida; summer sun is merciless on human skin and, more importantly, all of our plants shriveling in our summer heat; they can't hop up and escape into the AC. What we needed was a pretty shelter from direct sun; we needed a pergola! And this baby is a champ. Ordering was easy, the perfect size for our spot, delivery on time; my husband Bill added 2 applications of weather coating, we hired the brick guys to assemble it (we are old :-)). And now we have more than a pergola; it is a ROOM-- partly nestled under our old magnolia, decorated by our happy shaded plants, and furnished by our colorful furniture (I am a painter), the pergola frames it all and creates the perfect space whose form is lovely and which functions to give us what we needed: a solid, sturdy, shade-providing structure. We already have subprojects planned: our copper pelican perches on the top corner; to add even more shade, we are installing lattice panels over the widely spaced roof slats, and we are adding electric outlets for some good old Florida fans, also hanging solar lights to line the top structure. I bought the pergola/arbor a month ago. Directions were very clear! All boards, bolts, screws, nuts and washer were labeled. Other than sealing the boards, the actual construction was completed in ONE DAY. We are one young man and one 70 yr old short woman. If we can do it, anyone can handle it. It looks fantastic. The grapes have been planted by each post. We just need to string some led lights. ,

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After spending a lot of money on a contractor to landscape my back yard, I decided I would purchase a pergola kit and save some money and put it together myself. I was not disappointed with the look and style of the pergola. It did take some time to ship and arrive which could have been better but once it arrived it took just about as much time as they predicted to put it together, but the end result was beautiful!

If you are on the fence deciding whether or not to purchase, make the purchase. We bought ours this past July and have been making it our own ever since. When we first received our on time shipment, we thought we better check all the parts right away in case we needed anything replaced. When I called customer service to tell them we wouldn’t be putting this together for a few weeks and what if we discovered at that time we needed replacement parts, customer service assured us they would send us whatever we needed and not to worry. We built our pergola for a few hours each day during the week so all we needed to do on Saturday was raise up the posts and add the cross beams. This definitely makes the project less daunting and it only took us 3 hours or so when we lifted the posts. We have received several compliments. The color you see in the photos is the actual color. We have not yet stained. The purlins that came with (top) were just ok. They seemed crooked when we screwed them together. In the end, we added 1x3 cedar slats so that we had more shade. Directions were straight forward.
