I have used TurboTax for at least 25 years. This year I elected to do it online and it did not find my return or even prompt me to direct the program to it so I had to fill in all the data that would have been inserted automatically. I hope that is fixed for next year. I had to Google a couple obscure investment related topics that were not explained in the program. This rating program is screwy - it won't let me type what I want to say without guessing what it should say. Disturbing!! It was not clear that I could avoid a $20 fee if I don't pay with my refund. It should be clearer.

I had issue downloading data from my Vanguard account. Had to enter it manually. Took several calls to TurboTax and Vanguard to figure out how to input the data manually. We jointly determined that the problem was caused by Vanguard transitioning my old account to a new brokerage account. The Turbotax people actually determined the problem but it took several phone calls back and forth. Could have been quicker. then you get 5stars.

TurboTax updates fail. Why? The "Help" screens have print sizes which are too small. The explanations are not much help. Go back to the TurboTax features and explanations of your software from 30 years ago and incorporate more of those features to explain fine points of tax law. Provide a version of the software on CD or other physical means to install the software. When I copied the previous years' TurboTax on to my Windows 11 computer, I found that I cannot open the previous years' programs to review the returns. This year's TurboTax was able to transfer last year's carryover information, but I cannot reopen the previous year's return to examine. This is a major flaw.

Used to rate you at the top. I dropped you down to Average at best right now after my bad experience this yearI have been a long-term user of Turbo Tax (20+ years) - this is the first year I had technical issues using it. I use a Mac PC - there were technical issues opening my documents while working on my taxes (across 3 days). I have the newer Mac PC, well above the minimum technical specs required by TurboTax (Mac OS Sequoia 15.7.4). Lots of complaints on the internet. I have to delete the TurboTax Home & Business app to Trash, reinstall, clear the trash, shut off file sharing, etc. Recommendations from the internet help sites, not TurboTax "expert" - I just hope in years going forwardTurboTax figures out how to work with Apple and clean-up the the technical issues - this product should not have those kinds of issues.

very buggy, got into strange lop if you went back and fixed something. Also it always generate extra forms even though you went back and cancelled the entry. make you wonder what other excess info it is generating. feeling less and less trust as I use the product.

Unfortunately for Turbo Tax most people hate doing taxes, so with all of the charges and verbiage turbo tax uses (and has changed from last year) it's not in Turbo Taxes best interest to ask me to rate after the thrashing of doing all of the data collection and deciphering of all that goes along with doing my home and business taxes. I also don't appreciate having to invest in a new computing system that can handle the offline turbo tax software. My old system was way good enough to handle anything and along the virus protection I personally pay for their (to me) seems to be no really good reason to restrict me in using my window 10 computer. I have upgraded to windows 11 which was a pain because of all of the arbitrary restrictions and to top it off my laser printer does not work with windows 11. I know this is not turbo tax's fault, but it adds to the aggravation, and last minute scramble and expensive solutions. I personally condemn TT's move to limit offline tax prep to windows 11. I will never (if I can help it) do my taxes online where I do not have control of my data. Poor choices by TT in my opinion to associate themselves with the poor Windows 11 platform

Unfortunately this 2025 year, the California State Tax Return couldn't be e-filed due to several unsupported forms, that could not be removed and then persist as removed (appeared back after deleting). This was on Windows 11. Customer support helped to identify the bug and/or unsupported feature problem. The symptom was choosing credit card payment kept failing with the "Try again" screen. Deleting the form didn't help. Had to mail the printed form instead.

While I have used the product faithfully over the past 30 years. Intuit assumed everyone would only opt for the cloud version, NOT ME. I wanted the downloadable version and the management team made it near impossible to find the downloadable version. I think their practice of moving everyone to a cloud based solution is for the birds.

I have used Turbo Tax for years and have always given it 5 stars. But this year I was very disappointed with it. It worked wonderfully up until the time it came for me to request my refund. It said that I could request a paper check, which I did. However, I now have received a letter from the IRS saying that my refund must be done through direct deposit and requiring me to create an account with them to provide my information. I do not want to create this account and should not have had to do it. Since the "Modernizing Payments" executive order was signed on March 25, 2025, your software should have been updated so that it required me to add my banking information at that time. Why did your software not warn me that I couldn't get a paper check? I am very disappointed by Turbo Tax this year!

Its missing a few critical forms. I had to mail my son's return because it couldn't include the forms he needed even though we bought Home & Business just to be prepared. It is better in appearance than last year, which made it easier to use, but there are a few too many scroll to the bottom of the page buttons when moving beween windows.
