I really like how you can control the speed of the blade. So far I have only shredded potatoes and carrots. The attachment locks securely into place. Real easy cleanup.

I love this mixer. I have waited a long time to purchase one and am glad I did. I love the shredder attachment. Makes shredding cheese such an easy task. Done in no time and part can be put in the dishwasher. Easy cleanup. Really like the color on my counter top.

I have been wanting a stand mixer for a long time and finally broke down and bought one. Love the color, my husband even loves the color. Out the box and in use within 2 hours of delivery. Choose this one because it came with the extra attachment for the same price as the ones without. Read the cleaning instructions as I was worried about the finishing on the blades as I had read some reviews of other models talking about the finish starting to flake or chip away very early on in usage. Instructions clearly state HAND WASH ONLY. Dishwashers can be harsh on blade finish, so I will take note of this and be sure to only wash the blades by hand after use.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought to replace similar KitchenAide mixer that was great for over 25 years. Design change gave me a new mixer that won't lock down when mixing thicker material (bread dough). A replacement was sent, but it had the same issue. I kept the first one that I had purchased. To keep the mixer in the locked position, I attach a rubber band between the locking lever and the slicer/shredder locking bolt. You might consider placing a rubber band inside the packaging for future customers. :-)

I bought this mixer because I am getting into sourdough making. I like the convenience of the Tilt-Head but have not been happy that it "jerks/jumps" while mixing dough because it won't fully lock down. The first few times it happened, I thought it was going to jump off my counter top - scared me to death! I researched you-tube videos/reviews and found this is common - did the dime test - adjusted the screw.......this helped some but it still convulses when the dough gets heavy/thick. This is an expensive mixer - wish it didn't have this issue - but I am stuck with it and while it has it's issue, I am grateful for all the wonderful things it DOES do very well. The 3-in-1 pasta attachment is fabulous and I just invested in a glass bowl......

the motor is not as strong. directions tell not to go above number 2 for kneading . the bowl wobbles and motor struggles. beaters do not go down to the bottom of the bowl or the sides.

My mixer just quit working. I was kneading bread and it just stopped working. This is unusual for Kitchenaid mixers. since it is still under warranty I khope to get a replacement. I have used kitchenaid mixers my entire life and this is the first time I've had problems.

Haven't really used my machine within the time of 90 days of purchase. The motor gets super hot and it smells like the motor is burning when mixing bread dough. It makes noises like the mixer is getting over worked. I would not recommend if you are looking to make multiple batches of bread dough.
