Makes coffee, but......

This machine grinds beans and makes coffee but the grind texture is very coarse and not adjustable, so the coffee is not great.....if you want to get the most flavor from your expensive coffee beans, grind the beans yourself and use a less expensive coffeemaker.

Convenient and Reliable

We recently bought this grind+brew as a replacement for a similar Cuisinart device we had used daily for about 10+ years. It's easy to operate and has worked well for us; much less countertop mess than in the distant past when we had to rely on a separate grinder. My daughter favors the pour-over process, but we aren't such coffee connoisseurs that I could really say how the quality compares.

Disappointed

I have been a Cuisinart grind and brew user for many many years. I decided to treat myself to the grind and brew burr grinder because I heard that’s better than the blade grinder, but I don’t agree with that. The hot plate doesn’t really keep the coffee that hot for long periods of time and I like having more control over the amount of beans that I use. I find 8 cups of water and, eight things of beans makes it very weak cup of coffee so I use 7 cups of water and eight things of beans and it’s it’s better but not great

Best Tasting Cup of Coffee Ever

This coffee maker produced the best cup of coffee I have ever tasted. I set out to purchase a coffee maker that had a burr grinder imbedded in it as I wanted fresh ground coffee with beans that were ground evenly (Unlike a blade grinder). The coffee bean hopper has a generous amount of space for a 1/2 lb. of beans and the clear seal on top fits tight over the bean storage. The coffee maker is very easy to operate. Pour the water into the reservoir, select the coffee strength / number of cups, and push a button to start the process. It is nice too, that you can remove the carafe while the coffee is brewing, pour yourself a cup of coffee and return it to the coffee maker where it will continue brewing. The carafe worked well. No drips. I had a coffee maker prior to his one that you had to have a paper towel handy every time you poured a cup of coffee as the carafe always dripped. To ensure a great cup of coffee, Cuisinart provides a water filter as well. From every coffee brewing angle, this coffee maker with the burr grinder is the best.

MINUS 5 STARS!

Horrible. Even at 10 cups it overflows leaving leaking mess all over the counter. Sediment and grounds everywhere. EXTREMELY hard to close. I have owned a few DGB-800's and have NEVER had the problems like I experienced with this recent iteration. Returned to store. Won't buy another

This is not my first Cuisinart!

Works great. Makes my morning coffee just as I like it. Easy to use if you’re the type to read the manual. Super easy to clean and program. My last Grind & Brew had a stainless steel body, this one is black plastic and doesn’t look as nice, but overall, really like this machine! My daughter bought a much higher end Grind and Brew and returned it because it was so complicated to use. She went back to the Cuisinart as well

Great machibe, BUT

Love this machine, BUT: I am now on my 4th one in 4 weeks. Machine is great, but apparently, it needs some i.t. Help with design flaws. The warmer plate shuts off immediately after brew cycle…can be programmed for 4 hour shut off. Got my 4th one today and will find out tomorrow if it is damaged like all the rest. Makes a great cup of coffee though

Good Coffeemaker, Poorly Designed Carafe

I bought a new grind and brew because my old Cuisinart grind and brew died after 7 years. It works as it should. However, the carafe will not allow you to pour without dripping, it's impossible to pour cleanly. Fortunately, I kept the old carafe and use it with the new coffeemaker. This carafe doesn't drip.

Issues with Grinding

The "grind" portion of the Grind and Brew Coffeemaker is not working. It only releases 4 cups of beans no matter what we do (we've tried trouble shooting and resetting). This is the 3rd grind and brew we have owned over a long period of time. This is disappointing. Since it's under warranty, I will be making that call tomorrow, but it's hard to have a 3 month old coffee maker fail.

Cuisinart's quality has gone downhill

Cuisinart's quality has seriously declined since they began making their products overseas several years ago. I've always been a Cuisinart buyer for kitchen appliances [griddler, coffee bean burr grinder, immersion blender, toaster, and coffee makers]. This coffee maker, after five months of daily use, would stop brewing after only two cups. Then, it would restart a few minutes later. But, it would take up to one-half hour to finish brewing the full 12 cups. This is the "new and improved" DGB 800 series that replaced the DGB 700 series. They look very similar, however, the older 700 series is superior. You can clean the burr grinder on the 700, you can't on the 800. You start brewing by pressing one button. The 800 requires two. The coffee basket on the 700 prevents grounds from overflowing into the pot on full 12 cup batches. The 800 always passes some grounds into the pot. I purchased this on Sam's Club because it was on a special during the Holiday season. It was a newer model than the Cusinart avaliable at Sams Club's competitor warehouse store. I returned this coffee maker. Due to Sams Clubs return policy, I got a full refund, no questions asked. I wound up purchasing the older model from the competitor. It brews better, stronger coffee without grounds getting into the pot. We'll see if it is of better build quality as time goes on. [I've has similar quality problems with other recent Cuisinart Coffee Maker models as well.]
