Great coffee

This model combines the convenience of burr grinding and brewing in one simple step. The burr grinding is a coffee aficionado's preferred method (over blade grinding). The coffee comes out tasting superb. There is a strength control which I maintain at strong. This accompanied with Cuisinart style makes the coffee maker attractive as well. Style and performance combined in one package can't be beat. The only thing I would prefer is for the bean hopper to have a larger capacity. I can get two 12 cup pot fulls before the beans drop too low for a third. But, maintaining it is not a chore. I keep a stylish glass container with bamboo lid filled with beans next to the coffee maker making top offs easy.

Makes good coffee, but has quirks

Makes very good coffee, but has some quirks. Tends to grind too many beans for the number of cups selected. I set it for 4 cups, and add water to the 8 cup mark. Also works best with the gold tone filter. You can't change the grind size in this machine

Good and not so good

Coffee tastes very smooth. Trying to program it to make 4 cups doesn't work . Have to at least fill to the 6 cup line. Wish it was a little less noisy in the am when others are trying to sleep. 1st carafe leaked around the plastic and glass. Had to be sent another one. So far, so good.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re glad to hear you’re enjoying the smooth taste of the coffee and that the replacement carafe has been working well so far. We understand that noise can be noticeable during early morning use and appreciate that feedback. If you have any additional questions or concerns, the unit is covered by a manufacturer’s warranty, and our Consumer Service team at 1-800-726-0190 would be happy to assist.

Awesome coffee machine

Awesome coffee machine with built in grinder. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 due to a bad design on the carafe. It's a dribble pot as the plastic is not sealed to the glass part of the carafe. You have to pour your cup over the sink otherwise you have a mess to clean. Cusinart did send us a new carafe after we reported the problem, but the new one does the same thing. Dribble, heavily.

Bad coffee

This was a replacement for a much older grind and brew that would no longer grind. New doesn't always mean better. This machine is so much of a down grade from the leaky carafe to the grinder not making small grind ( large grind and bitter) also not grinding enough coffee bean to match the strength setting. As an example I have to pre grind a4 cup stop the machine from brewing and then grind a 12 cup on the strong strength setting. sucks that I can't get a cup of coffee the strength I want from this over priced thing

Works well but leaks

I'm still getting used to a pot again from using an Aeropress. We got tired of making 1 cup at a time and had lots of family over for the holidays so we needed a big coffee maker. I like the grinder option but it's really loud (expected) and it seems to go through more beans than necessary. Again, still getting used to it. My only real complaint is that the carafe leaks when you pour. When it's completely full, it doesn't matter how slow you pour, a few ounces end up all over the counter. When it only has 5 or 6 cups in the carafe and you pour super slow it doesnt leak. Very frustrating. Still trying to decide if it's enough of a frustration to return it.

Not Too Bad

I think it’s great but it uses a lot of grinds no matter cup size.

Disappointing for a Cuisinart

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted to wait a while before I wrote this, thinking I may have just been spoiled with my last coffee maker the Cuisinart DGB-900. Nope, that's not the case! This coffee maker is just opposite of the DGB-900. I don't even know where to begin....let's try, shall we? 1. This coffee maker keeps horrible time. It runs about 18 minutes fast every week. 2. The glass carafe....why? Why wouldn't you include a thermal carafe with this level of coffee maker? 3. The carafe lid is basically held on by tension. I can see it failing over time and it's going to fail when you're trying to pour a cup of coffee. Won't that be fun? Probably should have attached it somehow. 4. Keeping with the carafe, it is impossible to pour a cup without dripping more than a few drops on the counter. 5. The carafe also comes complete with a hollow plastic handle that somehow causes condensation so you're able to drip something from either side....excellent! 6. Be careful when you're sliding the carafe into its parking place. If you're not paying close attention, you'll have coffee all over your kitchen counter. I know I've enjoyed finding that a few times at 6 am. 7. The basket...Why? Why the heck would you attach the lid to the basket and not the carafe? 8. OK. Now that I've said that the basket has an attached lid, I can tell you that this makes it a 2 handed job to empty the grounds into the trash can. 9. This incredibly different design also makes the basket and its attached lid much more difficult to clean. 10. In conclusion, I'm very disappointed in this coffee maker. It's not inexpensive, but it's cheap! The quality of this coffee maker screams China, not Cuisinart. Please throw this design in the trash can and go back to a design that Cuisinart would be proud to provide. To potential buyers, just don't, you'll be disappointed too.
