My first disappointment upon opening the box was that this chair is made of thin-walled plastic. Each piece is hollow, extruded plastic. I proceeded to putting the chair together. The third screw stuck in the little rectangular nut. When I tried to back it out to realign it, the screw sheared off. Already decided to return the chair to Sam's, I then tried to unscrew one of the first two screws. The rectangular nut spun out in the thin plastic, making it impossible to take apart. I had to break off the plastic knob in order to take the chair apart and repack it in its box. Save yourself time and aggravation; buy a sturdy, SOLID Adirondack on-line for only slightly more.

I bet you the people writing bad reviews didn't have the metal anchors properly seated. Especially on the arms, they tend to fall out of place. Most of the bad reviews mention breakage where the chair back connects to the arms. If that happens, you're screwing metal into plastic and it's going to break. I used a small piece of tape to keep the metal anchor in place while I attached the arms. I verified that it's correctly anchored. We'll see if there's any breakage, but I think that solved it. To the manufacturer, some of the metal anchors slot into place, and especially with some force, line up correctly. But you're going to keep getting returns especially because the arm anchor in the back doesn't stay in place as you flip it over.

Disappointed in this chair. It is only available online so the customer can't examine the chair. It is made of a light-weight plastic. When I received this order, the back of the chair was missing in the parts. When I attempted to follow directions from the company to request a replacement part via an on-line form, the form would not accept my address. I plan to dispose of this chair.

Great chair

These were super easy to put together, even for an older woman! Very solid, heavy, won't blow around easily. I plan on leaving them out for the midwest winter, I expect they will hold up. They are very roomy to sit in and comfortable. For this price, can't be beat!

Okay, so this is not going to match what you get if you pay $200 a chair, but it is an excellent product for at this price point. Since it is new, can't speak to durability, but for looks, construction and ease in assembly, haven't seen anything come close. In that regard, saw a couple of reviews about problems assembling, but as someone who has put together dozens if not a hundred or more Chinese products, this has the best assembly scheme I have seen. It uses a bolt and nut combination that allows user alignment if pre-drilled holes in legs and arms if pre-drilled holes are slightly off from the factory. Cannot see how someone would have run into trouble assembling these.

A picture on this websites dropdown shows this chair folded in half for storage....They DO NOT FOLD!!! Happy with the chair but unless someone reads all the questions previously asked (which I did not do) it is deceiving to a buyer. The fact that it showed this chair folded was one of the reasons I chose it. Sam's needs to remove that picture from their website.
