Must have bought a defective one

We've had this, maybe a year. The lights on top no longer come on when the speaker is on, they stopped after 3 months. When you turn it on, it can say, until it dies, that the battery is at 60%, sometimes a different number, it never goes down is my point. It will die, then you know it needs charged. It's done that for the last 6 months. Currently it sometimes won't turn on, leaving me to believe that I neglegted to turn it off. However, after setting it on the charger and turning it on, it will say it's at 60% battery. With that being said, the sound is amazing, it was easy to set up, we've used it outdoors and thought the sound quality was excellent. I would purchase this again, however I'd make sure to also purchase anew extended warranty.

Best speaker ever

I bought this in 2017 brand new. I use it I'ma warehouse everyday 8 hours 5 days a week full blast and love it. Perfect for a small room but loud enough for any space. I have a after market skin protector dropped it about 50 plus times and no problems.

Extra bass - not great for dialogue, like imovies.

This is a good speaker. Music sounds good. The bluetooth is reliable. My issue is that the bass is exaggerated. That's great for hip hop I guess (although hip hop takes care of that in the studio so you don't need it in the speaker) but it's not great for most other music. What this does is fundamentally CHANGE the music you're listening too. The extra bass is also not great for watching movies or video. Dialogue has more sonic clarity if it has a bit more treble than more bass, to put it plainly. So dialogue can get a bit muddy with this speaker. I was able to set it up with ease, however, I handed this speaker to a colleague who thought she could set it up easily herself, which is what I thought. Well, I got a call to come help her. She had plugged the power cable into the wrong place. So because that cable actually DOES fit into more than one place on the speaker, I guess it's all that easy to set up.

Incredible buy!

I went on the search for a Bluetooth speaker for my college apartment after listening to both a Harman Kardon and the Soundlink Mini. I am SO thrilled with this purchase and I'm so glad I chose the Soundlink over any other speaker. This speaker is simply incredible and if you're unsure whether to purchase it or not, you won't be disappointed. It's sleek, portable, looks awesome, and the sound is even more than I expected out of a Bose. Very happy customer!

Huge sound, small size.

I knew I would get a great product from Bose, but the sound this makes has such depth and clarity that I have a hard time believing the sound is actually coming from this small frame. A lot of bluetooth speakers are either tiny and thin sounding or combine this tinny sound with a rough and exaggerated bass. The Bose speakers have a wide range and the sound at all frequencies is very clear and accurate. The only issue I had was with the initial pairing with my iPhone. It took a minute to get it to connect, but now it recognizes it immediately and pairs instantly. Its hard to judge a speaker without listening to it, but these are worth the price you pay. I'm planning on buying another as a gift.

Was impressed...not anymore.

Had this speaker for a little over a year (out of warranty). Contacted Bose to see if they'd help me out but she passed me off to the repair center instantly. The battery is completely dead and will not accept a charge or even turn on directly plugged in. Attempted all the recommended troubleshooting steps from the rep and from online forums with no luck. Come on Bose! Serial # 068617961970949A4

Was nice...while it was functional

After about 6 months to 1 year, the speakers started turning off randomly. If not charging/placed in the dock, it now turns off every 5-10 minutes. Searching forums this appears to a common problem and the warranty is useless. When in the dock, it makes a horrible noise at the same frequency. Turning it back on became so frustrating I just stopped using it. The sound quality is good for this size compared to other products, but pales in comparison to, say, the sounddock. I would not recommend this product, in fact, would highly suggest you avoid.

Nice Speaker with a Flaw

This replaced a SoundLink Mini that I used as a computer speaker by running an audio cable from my sound card to the speaker AUX input. It works just like the original Mini except that the speaker hums (most likely a ground loop hum between the speaker power supply and the computer). I exchanged this for another Mini II and have the same result. Since this was not a problem with the original Mini it must be a flaw in the Mini II. There are comments on the internet from other users who have the same problem. Bose does not acknowledge the problem. The problem can be circumvented by disconnecting the power supply while the speaker is in use. Other than the above, both the original Mini and the Mini II are very nice compact wireless speakers.

Better sound than you can imagine

I needed something portable that would fit in my laptop bag and sound great. Like every other Bose product I have (which are many), this one amazed me with it's sound. It sounds stronger and fuller than Soundlink Color, which sounds great on it's own. To think this type of sound can come from something so small is something only Bose could bring to us and at a price that's unbeatable. BEst part is that it has a 3.5 aux connection so I can connect it to my cell at work and save my data. Take that Verizon! It easiy fills my office and bedroom with music. Thank you Bose for putting out this amazing item.

Awesome sound everywhere!

I've had mine a while now and have not been disappointed. I've used it everywhere. I read a review that someone wrote stating it didn't sound great outside, I didn't find that to be true. I used mine but outside many times and it sounded just as good as it did inside. I've never been disappointed in any of my Bose products.
