I recently purchased this speaker, and have been very pleased with the quality of sound and volume capability. As with all of the Bose products the workmanship and quality are obvious. The weight alone tells you this is a quality design. Built to last and stand up to anything I will do with it. When I can afford the purchase I plan on moving up to the full size Soundlink.....

I got this little speaker from my wife for my birthday , first experience is few months ago when I had my vacation in Hard Rock hotel in Penang, Malaysia. Pairing with it is into it is very intuitive, I was skeptical at first about its sound quality, playing a few songs from Spotify, instantly amaze me, how much clean and bassy low this little guy can generate. The more I listen the more I love it. Thanks to my lovely wife I am the proud owner of a limited edition black/bronze version. Didn't rate it full star as there is room for improvement that Bose can consider to further enhance this is adding support for aptX codec after all it is software related

This mini speaker made me to retire all the other speakers that I have at home. Great sound for that size. I take it wherever I go. Office, camping and etc. Great choice to impress others and takeover a boring small group with your music. I recommend to buy the cover to protect the smooth finishing.

We bought this for our trailer back in October. We now shuffle it between the trailer and home. As others have said, it balances the tones beautifully. Some of Bose speakers are a tad too heavy with the base, but this delivers base, treble, and the in between ranges in a well balanced mix.

Bought mine years ago and still working like the CHAMP it is!!! Take it in the motorhome when my radio in the coach is on the blink.. Take it in my saddle bags and listen to tunes when out riding my horse.... take it out in the yard when doing lots of yard work.... on my 14 acres! I have no regrets on the purchase of my sweet Bose mini blue tooth speaker.. It truly ROCKS I love it so much I purchased a traveling neoprene carrier for it to keep it looking good as the day I purchased it.

When I bought it i didn't really expect much for it to just be a regular Bluetooth speaker,I just want something to take with me wherever I go, but after I play my music with it the sound is excellent! Couldn't believe it comes out from such small speaker.

severe system or battery bug I used mini2 for one month. Once I shut down the device and leave it unpluged for more than 1 day, it will die. No matter how much battery life it has, it will not be activated until I plug it to power. Once I plug into power, the power button is revived and it will said "battery 100% percent" immediately. Hope Bose solve this problem soon. PS: where I can download the new firmware for mini2 This is the review written by someone 2 months ago. I bought the same mini2 one month ago. Now i have the exactly same problem he had. I think it is manufacture problem. Consider to return it

I bought this speaker one week ago and used it for the first time yesterday. I am extremely disappointed by the Bluetooth connection. The poor connection causes the sound to be awfully choppy. I have connected to my iPhone 6 and my MacBook Pro and on each tried streaming music online and from my device (music / iTunes directly). I thought it might be my wifi connection that was causing the sound choppiness but this is ruled out by playing music directly off of my device which would have no lag time. I heard great things about this speaker and bought it because I enjoyed using my Uncle's at the beach. It looks pretty and I love the size but not being able to play a full song without skipping pieces every few seconds or minutes is not going to work for me :( If you're looking for a smooth playing speaker without interruptions to your music I would have to advise you to look elsewhere. Ps this is an addition to another review which did not post in full.

I have enjoyed this speaker for five months. Having enjoyed many high end audio systems through the years, I was more amazed each day at how well this little speaker presents the music. I have an iPhone 6s Plus that compared to the iPhone 5, has a really good sounding DAC. It made my SoundLink Color sound much better, as did the firmware update for it late last year. I listen to anything musical. Abba, Al Jolson, Jazz, Country, Rock, Movie Music, Classical, New Age, etc. My music list spans 8 decades. I use an app called Equalizer Pro (mix1009) by Chun-koo Park that allows me to play lossless flac CD and high resolution files so the speaker is getting the best source material via Bluetooth...sorry Chun-koo, but I have all equalization turned off. The app handles my 19+ gig of music flawlessly with a very user-friendly interface. Prior to updating my SoundLink Mini II firmware from ‘.3 to ‘.4 four days ago, I listened five to six hours a day enjoying my music’s sound stage...I am very familiar with the music and how it sounds on different speakers and amplifiers. The little Soundlink Mini II with ‘.3 firmware presented mixes pretty accurately...for example the echo in Katie Melua’s “I Cried For You” from her live concert 900+ feet down in one of three legs in a gas well rig in the North Sea…Chicago's Day & Night with its bloated bass…Chris Botti's delicate trumpet work on “When I Fall In Love.” And Daft Punk from the movie Tron “The Son of Flynn” or “Derezzed” at 80% volume. I spent a year and a half tuning my sound room with bass traps and recognize the ‘.4 firmware’s sound signature...pitched up bass, a bump between 4K & 5k. Dave Brubeck’s “Take 5” the clarinet sounds sharp, the string base notes are pitched up, the drum solo in to have exaggerated snap but the great airy sound of the drums themselves sounds boxy...symbols no longer have that delicate ring...they hiss. I have read most of the 200+ reviews for this speaker on this site. There are at least three repeating user insights...the speaker sounds better than past Wave Radios, better than SoundLink III, but tends to sound "hollow" when taken outdoors. The amazing feat this speaker performs is how well it works in the various rooms I play it in. The very frequencies that this speaker do not augment is the reason it sounds so good in doors...those same frequencies tend to disperse quickly outside leaving the SoundLink Mini II’s sound a bit thin. I think that may be some of the reasoning behind the sound signature change. For instance, I work in a noisy environment. It is a waste to use this speaker there because it does not play as loud...those little drivers are working their magic producing a greater range of balanced frequencies...I use my SoundLink Color...yup, I carry both with me…the Color’s sound is not as good because it plays fewer more focused frequencies loud...which is also why the Color does not sound as good in doors. Folks, if you want loud go with the SoundLink Color...it is more musical than the competition at its price point...I know, I own several of the competition’s speakers. The SoundLink Mini II with the ’.3 firmware is not a partying speaker. It is a speaker that can produce a consistent, pretty darn good sound stage in a variety of rooms. It is an admiral achievement. Let's leave the playing loud thing to the SoundLink Color and SoundLink III. Those of you who own non updated (firmware ‘.3) SoundLink Mini II's, I envy you. I am 60 and have spent a lot of money chasing good sound. That speaker you have IMHO represents the most enjoyable, best built, user friendly (six volume levels between each of Apples's volume levels) portable audio speaker made to date by anyone. For a smile, listen to Al Jolson’s “I’m Sitting on Top of The World”. Don’t even get me started on how good this speaker plays at really low volume…highs and lows are there. In my opinion, firmware ‘.3 earns a solid 5 stars; firmware ‘.4 earns 2 stars. Dear Bose, the '.4 update gives the speaker more punch, it plays louder...but a pan flute sounds sharp on certain notes...string bass solos, each note is no longer the same volume...one or two notes/frequencies are louder...kind of like the one note somba...Karen Carpenters voice, so hard to get right, was so right with firmware '.3 but squeaky with firmware '4...these past 4 days have been sonically miserable...please give me back my speaker...possibly the best small speaker Bose has ever made...and I have been listening since Bose 901's.

I received this 2 years ago as a Christmas present. It sounds great. Pairs pretty easily with iPhone, Samsung and my laptop. Only really use it a few times a week. Now it won’t hold a charge for more than 20 minutes. I’m debating on whether I should throw it away since the warranty only is for 1 year. Seems like Bose quality isn’t what I would have expected.
