I bought this because I was amazed at the sound when I listened to it at my friends house. Unfortunately it doesn't work out of the box ! When plugged in it shows a charge but it doesn't switch on, I can't reset it or anything , when plugged in to try install a new driver because I can't switch it on the PC doesn't recognise the device! Please help

I kept my Soundlink mini on my desk in the cradle and no I noticed the battery indicator is solid red. tried moving to another AC outlet, tried charging without the cradle, tried the reset and then tried to upload new firmware, .....but the battery is dead, ....so it tells me to re-charge for awhile and then re-try. well that won't work, since the battery taking any charge seems to be the issue. So I guess I have a paperweight, or I can send out and pay more, for a replacement battery??

This was a Christmas gift about 4 years ago and the battery life has diminished tremendously. I agree with the previous reviewers as it relates to the speaker shutting down on it's own after it has been fully charged. I will note the sound quality is perfect, but the battery is the weakest component.

In trying to see if there are nay software updates for the speaker I downloaded the software and installed it. When it asks me to connect the speaker via the mini usb port it does not say if the speaker needs to be turned on, and in trying both in and off my computer does not seem to recognize that the speaker is connected and the software just seems to do nothing.

Because of all the other Bose products I have (headphones, Solo 15) my wife surprised me with a Mini II for Christmas and it packs a BIG punch in such a small package. I read (or rather have read to me) lots of audio books and the Mini II does wonders for the spoken word especially with a great orator! Haven't listened to much music yet but I'm sure it will perform just as well when I run my SirusXM thru it. An unrelated question, how do I confirm that my software is up to date?

No question - these are amazing speakers. But their ability wo withstand water blew me away I places the unit in a laundry basket to carry it to the washing machine and then got pulled to another mission. When I got back to laundry, I forgot the mini was in the basket - dumped it in the washing machine and ran the machine (I know - duh). After the washer filled and started agitating, I realized where the mini was so I stopped the machine and pulled it out. Opened the back to Mini to dry it out and after 8 hours - it’s working! I mean it was literally laundered for 5 minutes and it’s fully operational! Amazing quality!!! You can’t make this up!

Sound of Bose SoundLink 2 is perfect, but if I paused audio/video for 1 minute and pushed play button again then the sound starts to be interrupted and all settings are responding late. I have to turn off the SoundLink and re-connect after switching to the normal playback. This problem when it connected with laptop. Bose Updater can't install the update: "Connection with your Bose® product was unexpectedly lost. Please try rebooting your product and performing the update again." Rebooting the device does not help. There were no problems with the SoundLink 1 paired with the same laptop. I hope soon to solve the problem. Out of my problem. I would like to be able to correct the equalizer settings for the Bose SoundLink 2. Sometimes the bass too much or they are very deep. For everybody - buy the Save soft cover! Thanks.

I love this Bose! It’s so tiny, but the sound is so large. The sound and bass are impressive for its size. Portable, great battery life, easily compatible with my iPhone and my boyfriend’s LG, and is just overall great. The only thing is that it does scratch easily, so if you are going to bring it around places with you, I’d suggest purchasing one of the protective covers. :) Overall, awesome product and well worth the money!

Absolutely love this speaker. Recently I needed sound for my staff meeting. My two choices were: a large portable speaker or this little speaker. I went with the little one and amazed the 125 staff members who were in the meeting room. No one could believe that the sound was coming from that little speaker. It has surpassed all of my expectations for such an inexpensive portable speaker.

I couldn't be more pleased with the quality of the sound produced by this unit. But a serious deficiency exists in it's compatibility - It does not seem to be Airplay compatible. An inability to send music from my Apple device to multiple speakers via Airplay is a big issue for me. The only reason I think of is Bose and Apple having a spat of some kind. Most quality speaker and sound device companies have gotten over Apple's position in the business and realized it is to their benefit to have their devices play nice with Apple's. I would love to have Bose or someone reading this review tell me I am wrong and there is a reasonably cost efficient way to resolve this.
