I was on the hunt for a small portable unit with decent sound, projection, and long battery life. I listened to dozens of other portables that varied in size, performance, and price range. This unit won hands down. I am very satisfied with the battery life, as that is important to me. Seems like I get the full 10 hours out of it, although so far I only use it for 30 minutes to an hour or so at a time, so I haven’t really kept that close tabs on it. I mainly use it in close proximity, and never expected it to be anything more than for my personal enjoyment. In other words, I never expected it to be something to drive a party. It’s perfect for the office, garage, small gathering, or on my old work truck dashboard. As someone else mentioned, it “isn't terribly stereo”, but I am satisfied with the apparent ‘depth’ of the sound image. This unit meets/exceeds my expectations as a small portable system. It sounds great, has a substantial feel to it, and appears well built.

Just bought this today. The sound will increase and decrease for no apparent reason? Not sure if I should take it back and thought I'd ask for advice since it appears Bose is great for responding to comments. The quality of sound is great. (Wish there was a little more base but knew how it sounded before I bought it) The product, for being small, is surprisingly heavy (hence the title) which isn't a problem for me. I like the sound, I like the size. I'm just not sure It's my favorite model from Bose

This replaced a SoundLink Mini that I used as a computer speaker by running an audio cable from my sound card to the speaker AUX input. It works just like the original Mini except that the speaker hums (most likely a ground loop hum between the speaker power supply and the computer). I exchanged this for another Mini II and have the same result. Since this was not a problem with the original Mini it must be a flaw in the Mini II. There are comments on the internet from other users who have the same problem. Bose does not acknowledge the problem. The problem can be circumvented by disconnecting the power supply while the speaker is in use. Other than the above, both the original Mini and the Mini II are very nice compact wireless speakers.

I bought this speaker one week ago and used it for the first time yesterday. I am extremely disappointed by the Bluetooth connection. The poor connection causes the sound to be awfully choppy. I have connected to my iPhone 6 and my MacBook Pro and on each tried streaming music online and from my device (music / iTunes directly). I thought it might be my wifi connection that was causing the sound choppiness but this is ruled out by playing music directly off of my device which would have no lag time. I heard great things about this speaker and bought it because I enjoyed using my Uncle's at the beach. It looks pretty and I love the size but not being able to play a full song without skipping pieces every few seconds or minutes is not going to work for me :( If you're looking for a smooth playing speaker without interruptions to your music I would have to advise you to look elsewhere. Ps this is an addition to another review which did not post in full.

1. When it was tuned to the max volume, the battery would run out in about 2 hours. 2. Sometimes it becomes unwakeable until I charge it. 3. It's picky to the AC source. ( It doesn't eat my 5-ports usb hub) Other than all the small issues above, I still love my soundlink mini 2 for sure.

This speaker is the best Bluetooth speaker forget JBL and Beats your paying for the name when you buy those. Bose has the best bass with ultimate clarity no raspy noise Bass that let's you hear the sound not like the to subwoofer booms you can you can't here music on other speakers this is the best. RECOMMEND BUT IT!!!!!!!

So I don’t have the second version I have the first version and let me tell you I’m a huge bose fan I bought my bose soundlink mini in octuber 2015 and we’re in 2018 and still going strong the sound is loud and clear I use it religiously and at night I put like nature sound and helps me go to sleep bose is the best I have the bose cinemate 15 and I’m blown away with the power and the quality my sister has the wireless bose headphone and the iPod dock and my dad has the earbuds and so do I and this Friday my brother is getting the bose micro Bluetooth I don’t buy other brand but bose why bc they deliver the best sound ever thank you bose for your hard unstoppable hard work

Best sound quality ive heard from a speaker this size. Very impressed with this speaker. I listen to it everyday. I’ve had the original sound link mini for over three years and it still works great. Upgraded to the mini II over a year ago and it’s even better. The battery lasts all day and will stay good unless it’s constantly left on the charger. I’ve dropped it countless times and even left it out in the rain on accident and it still works! Quality.

My wife and I were recently visiting a friend in Florida and her sound system sounded fantastic. I went looking for all of the stereo equipment and large speaker arrays, however it all came down to this little gem of a Bluetooth speaker and a smartphone. I was so impressed, I bought one when I returned to CT and plan on buying one for my daughter, for whom space is at a premium. This Bose Soundlink Mini II sounds better than my tower speakers at home (which will now be relegated to art pedestals).

I got this little speaker from my wife for my birthday , first experience is few months ago when I had my vacation in Hard Rock hotel in Penang, Malaysia. Pairing with it is into it is very intuitive, I was skeptical at first about its sound quality, playing a few songs from Spotify, instantly amaze me, how much clean and bassy low this little guy can generate. The more I listen the more I love it. Thanks to my lovely wife I am the proud owner of a limited edition black/bronze version. Didn't rate it full star as there is room for improvement that Bose can consider to further enhance this is adding support for aptX codec after all it is software related
