Great while it lasted

This was a gift from my boss less then a year ago and I really didn't know what it was but when I brought it he hubby was excited we tried it and LOVED it. It has awesome sound and bass but now it doesn't keep a charge and we were really sad we try charging it and won't even charge anymore. It was great while it lasted.

Waterproof?

No question - these are amazing speakers. But their ability wo withstand water blew me away I places the unit in a laundry basket to carry it to the washing machine and then got pulled to another mission. When I got back to laundry, I forgot the mini was in the basket - dumped it in the washing machine and ran the machine (I know - duh). After the washer filled and started agitating, I realized where the mini was so I stopped the machine and pulled it out. Opened the back to Mini to dry it out and after 8 hours - it’s working! I mean it was literally laundered for 5 minutes and it’s fully operational! Amazing quality!!! You can’t make this up!

My favorite Bose yet

I just purchased my second Soundlink Mini II. This one is for my office, it is the speaker for my computer, streaming radio, bluetooth in from my phone for more music, or speaker phone for my iPhone when i have my landline headset on. The first one is used around the house, in the garage, on the boat and in our RV trailer. It has great sound and bass. The bass is better when you have a wall behind it to reflect the bass. It does not get as loud as my Sounddocks when being used outdoors. The Sounddocks are much richer sounding in a very large room or outdoors, and the Sounddock have more volume. But in our house in a 30' x 25' great room with 10' ceilings (and smaller rooms) the Soundlink Mini is perfect. I'm 50 now and enjoy 70's to 90's rock, modern country when I'm in the mood, and my teenager's alternative music on the Mini as well. I'll be getting a third for my daughter when I send her off to her college dorm in the fall, more compact and portable than the Sounddock in her bedroom now.

Best speaker I've had

I have had my soundlink for about 2.5 years now and I already have plans to buy another one to have on stand by the day mine stops working. Amazing sound quality, portability, connection to my device is no issue. Some may say the price is expensive but anyone that knows Bose understands you are buying quality audio equipment.

One little downside

I bought this last year and I have to say the sound is great and it connects to my phone super easy. The only problem I'm having is that I can't turn on the speaker with having it hooked up to the charger, this is a recent issue I am having but overall awesome product!

great little device

Just got the Mini II & am impressed with the added features over the original mini: speakerphone, longer battery, usb charging, new color (I got the carbon). Sound is the same as the original-- as far as I can tell. Some people say the II is not as "warm" as the original. I'm not getting that. There are so many positive reviews of the mini I & mini II that I will just focus on my personal experience. Negative reviews can criticize the sound but I have made my peace with the mini II. I would characterize the sound as mellow, forgiving and impactful. Which means: This is not a studio monitor-- it's got a warmth that my ear likes; no fatigue. The sound tuning is forgiving. You can listen to imperfect recordings/files w/o being smacked in the face. It fundamentally has more bass than it "should" given it's diminutive size which never ceases to be slightly astonishing. Some negative reviews focus on the lack of stereo separation. It's true, it's basically mono-- but, I've made my peace with that as well. I now have two high quality powered speakers connected to my computer. When I want to do some critical listening in stereo, that's where I do it. You have to pick your battles. I've had other bluetooth speakers that fight that fight, but to me it's pointless to try to do it with software tricks or exotic designs. If you want stereo, just get 2 speakers-- done. Another knock is that it distorts at higher volume. Sure it does, but again, not a big problem. Find me a small device like this that doesn't-- this is not a PA system. The better feature for me is that you can play it at a very low volume & still have the sound remain impactful. Other devices will cut out various frequencies as the volume goes down-- the mini sounds great at low volumes. Just don't torture yourself with outlandish audiophile expectations that defy our current laws of physics-- that will take all the fun and delight the mini can deliver. Ideally it should be a supplement to your main system-- one you can travel with & easily pick up & move around. The speakerphone, longer battery, USB charging & voice prompts make it more versatile than the original & sells at the same price point. It paired easily with my phone. Not going to tell my 10 year old daughter that it can pair 2 devices at once:) Attractive design & built to high standards. I'll stop there. Great update to a classic, Bose. Highly recommended!

Superior Sound and Quality!!!!!

I first heard the speaker when my friend purchased one and I was like wow I should've purchased it instead of the beats pill I got. so I finally purchased this after my Beats Pill gave out on me and I take it all over the house, and to work! My coworkers love it when I bring it in they all think it's a full size speaker the way it sounds until they see it . Amazing sound quality! I would definitely recommend to everyone!!

The battery is dying

I bought this product in July (2016) and its been perfect until one day, this orange-yellow/amber color appeared on the battery icon. I have no idea why this is happening and I cannot seem to find a solution. I've tried resetting the speaker but this orange-yellow/amber color appears and it just kills my battery. I can only charge the battery until 80% and from then on, even if I'm not using the speaker, the battery keeps going lower and lower. The quality is a 5 stars and I want to give it 5 stars but unless they can resolve this issue, its going to be a one star from me.

Battery charge fails just after warranty

The battery/charge controller fails completely just after warranty rendering them inoperable even if on charging base or if plugged in. Can you believe that! Even when it is plugged into the wall power source it does not work, that is a huge mistake! I am not an expert just a simple customer who put their trust into a good brand! The option is to buy a new battery which is expensive and not a good reflection on what i once viewed as a quality brand.

Great Sound BUT We're having some issues

So I bought my mini link about a year or two ago and it worked great until the last 6 months. Now it cuts out in the middle of songs and I know I've charged it. And today it stopped playing music altogether. It will connect to my phone but when it does it make a weird noise, not the typical ping and wheni hit play no sound comes out. Not even when I use an aux cord. I really hope someone can help me figure out how to fix it or if I have to replace it.
