Incredible soundfor a small package

This little speaker manages to fill a 34'x18' space with really great sound. I continue to be amazed - and I'm old, and grew up on high-end stereo sound. My only question is, is it bad for the battery to be left in the charge cradle, for long periods? Most lithium-ion battery manufacturers recommend ocasionally taking them quite low, even to flat.

Great new feature, 1 disappointing flaw

I just got the sound link mini II after owning the sound link mini 1 for almost a year. I made the switch after my sound link mini 1 stopped function all of sudden this past weekend after a flawless year ( I was 100% satisfied with sound link mini 1, AMAZING SOUND ! ), the issue I had was, after using it for about 6 hrs straight the battery died, so I plugged it to recharge like I normally would do, and instead of charging I would get a fast blinking red light. So I took it to get serviced and they replaced it with a new one but they only had the new sound link mini II. So at first I was real happy because I was getting the new upgraded model with finally the ability to recharge via USB , but I was disappointed to find out once I starting to use it that the BASS has noticeably reduced ! Is that how Bose decided to increase battery life ? Reducing the energy consuming BASS ?? I was expecting either improved or equivalent sound with upgraded features. I am really disappointed with the BASS reduction. I loved the deep rich heavy bass the sound link mini 1 had. It was mind blowing how that little speaker sounded. The new sound link mini II sounds dry and punchy, it sounds like little speakers, when it used to be little speakers in disguise because the sound was BIG. Other then that the high end is almost identical sounding. The new features are great, USB charging, extended battery life, speaker phone function. Overall I give it - 4 stars, and give the sound link mini 1 - 5 stars BRING BACK THE BASS PLEASE ( BOSE please make a firmware update that allows you to equalize the unit like the first soundlink mini )

Cool and playful!!

It’s a cool speaker, it doesn’t have a lot of features that makes a hard way to use it . I love that is small and silver . I ordered it on the 27 and received it on the 29th. Don’t know what is waiting for me , for now I enjoy everything about this little sandwich;)

I OWN 2 OF THESE!

I have owned two of the original SoundLink Mini's for over a year. I use one in our bedroom and one at my office at work. The one at home does triple duty between the bedroom, our living room, and my home basement man cave/office. This thing sounds SO GOOD AT LOW VOLUME that I hardly use our high-priced amp/receiver/bookshelf speakers/subwoofer any more. I am thinking about buying a third SoundLink Mini. Buy one, you will have no regrets.

Sometimes great things come in small packages

After a 6-month search that included 7 total bluetooth speakers, finally I am ready to settle down with Bose. For years I have been skeptic of the Bose name (having own Mcintosh Amp) but I think they do produce great sounding audio systems. Kudos Bose for sticking with the founders values. Well done!

Don't waste your money

There's a reason this product has been discontinued by Bose. I've had mine for less than 3 years and I can't even get through 2 songs before the thing shuts off on its own. The first year and a half it worked fine (unless it got too hot in the sun, which is understandable), so that's why I give this product 2 stars, but after that, the shutting off has gotten more and more frequent. This device was purchased for me because of the reputation of quality that Bose has. We are seriously disappointed.

Was good for one year

This Bose bluetooth speaker worked well for one year... for the first year, it did switch off randomly, but not frequently... maybe for 5 or 6 times in total for the first year, but the sound quality was very good for small rooms... best sound quality... but now, after one year it switches off frequently, and the bluetooth range is funny... it would not work 2 metres beyond my laptop... avoid BT speaker is my advice...but if you need one, go for bose, as other company are much worse...

"Shipping Mode" irritant

The Bose Soundlink Mini II is an exceptionally good bluetooth speaker. It is clear and concise and puts out a lot of sound. The only thing that irks me is this "Shipping Mode" Whenever the speaker is not powered up for 3 or 4 days it goes into "Shipping Mode" and you can't power it up again unless you connect it to the cradle or plug it in to an AC power source. At first I was concerned enough about this irritating issue to think about returning it but the speaker sounds so much better than other Bluetooth speakers that I've heard that I'll go ahead and keep it but I hope that Bose comes up with a firmware upgrade to allow users to turn this "Shipping Mode" off as it is irritating to have to connect it to a AC power source to power it up if I don't use it for 3 or 4 days.

Not connecting with my MacBook

I bought this a week ago and was impressed about the sound quality. It was doing fine with all my devices - iPhone, MacBook - but today for some reason it is not connecting with my MacBook. As soon as I connect it and turn on music, the speaker says 'MacBook, disconnected.' Can you help me with this?

Awesome sound quality!

SIMPLY AMAZING! It's hard to believe that such a compact speaker like this can play music very loud in a great sound quality! The speaker makes me instantly think that Bose always puts a lot of effort into making great products that are definitely worth the money.
