Great sound for size of speaker

The speaker works very similarly to my Bose Soundlink around ear headphones. Connecting to my iPhone and MacBook is pretty easy, and both devices can be connected to the speaker at the same time. Every so often I will need to manually connect, but it works automatically the majority of the time. It would be nice to be able to change the name of this speaker. I have two Soundlink Mini II speakers, and my iPhone shows two speakers in the sound menu without differentiating between the two. My bose headphones have an app on my phone that allows me to update the firmware, change the name, and change some basic settings. Allowing this speaker to work with that app or a similar app would be fantastic. All in all, I am happy with the product and definitely recommend it.

Huge sound, small size.

I knew I would get a great product from Bose, but the sound this makes has such depth and clarity that I have a hard time believing the sound is actually coming from this small frame. A lot of bluetooth speakers are either tiny and thin sounding or combine this tinny sound with a rough and exaggerated bass. The Bose speakers have a wide range and the sound at all frequencies is very clear and accurate. The only issue I had was with the initial pairing with my iPhone. It took a minute to get it to connect, but now it recognizes it immediately and pairs instantly. Its hard to judge a speaker without listening to it, but these are worth the price you pay. I'm planning on buying another as a gift.

Great sound, but didn't last long....

I've had my Mini for almost 2yrs now and it just quit. The speaker sputtered, scratched and then simply quit working. The pairing works perfect, the power supply and battery is still working, but the speaker itself just quit. So sad and the warranty is gone.

Awesome Little Speaker

After trying a half dozen bluetooth speakers and not being impressed with any of the sound reproduction; I purchased the Bose Soundlink II. "WOW!" What a great device for its size. My wife is not a tech geek but I think she enjoys the Bose sound so much that I find her watching Netflix on her laptop. That is a first. The Soundlink II will definitely come in handy while camping. It is a little heavier than other devices but it must be because the voice coils are more robust thus creating better sound reproduction. Great engineering creates great products. As far as, linking devices to my Soundlink II....I've had no issues.

Lives up to its name

What a purchase! Well worth the money. The sound coming out of this little device is incredible, not to mention the fact that I can take it anywhere I want. The setup was so easy with both of my devices, iPad and iPhone. I purchased the black version of it and just looks very classy! Nice job Bose! you have yet to let me down!

Great Sound from a Small Speaker

I've had my Bose Mini (original version) for about two years now and have been pleased with its performance. I use it to stream music from my laptop computer and cell phone. You get improved base and sound in small rooms and if you position the speaker near a wall (8 - 10 inches). I also purchased the carrying case when I travel.

Amazing speaker!

This is an exceptional speaker, it is portable and the sound it incredible!!!! Use it daily in the kitchen and dining area and just move the speaker from room to room. It has enough capacity to fill a medium sized room with excellent sound quality and bass.

Great Sound and Features...but...

I have owned 2 of these speakers in 2 years. Best sound in a speaker this size and I like the fact you can be connected to more than one device at a time. Also like the voice prompts. But...I just returned the second one under an extended warranty. After about a year, both speakers had the same problem. If they sat for longer than a week or so without being used, they wouldn't power on. The only way I could get the power button to power on the unit was to plug it in to power. The battery hadn't drained. When it powered on after being plugged in, it said its battery life was around 70%. Not sure if I want to buy a third one at this point. Very bummed as I still like this speaker the best out of all others I've tried.

So much more than expected

As a real estate agent, I wanted something light and portable but with ease of use plus sound quality and aesthetics to impress. I wasn't expecting to find it so useful for so many other things and for the sound quality to be so good, even after trying every product in the shop and settling on the Soundlink Mini II. This unit offers very clear vocals and tight bass. I was suspicious that the demo cabinet might provide unrealistically good bass in the shop but no. Jazz on the beach, Christmas music around the house, a beautiful addition to my Mac setup or a portable upgrade to hotel televisions and vehicles without Bluetooth audio, and even wonderful background sounds turns al fresco dining into a five-star experience. After the first few days of my wife wanting me to bring out the Soundlink so often, I now know better than to wait to be asked. I could honestly say that I could see a two-unit configuration, a la Kef Muo, replacing my receiver and 2.1 speaker setup - only a broader stereo base is all I could want for my large TV. I'm so glad I bought the travel case as well - the rubber protective cover I also bought was discoloured and not "adult" enough, especially without an option for black trim for my pearl model, so I sent that back and use it without. After months of being on the fence about the value of such a purchase, I am so glad I pulled the trigger before the holidays. I look forward to finally trying it at work - which is, after all, why I thought I was buying it in the first place.

Great sound but flawed execution

I purchased the Soundlink Mini II to replace the Sound Dock portable that I have been carrying all over the world since I purchased it in Baghdad in 2009. The Sound Dock portable is a Bose HOMERUN!!! However it is heavy and bulky in the luggage. The Soundlink mini disappoints in that it has no remote. Yes yes I know control it through the device. Well I am using an iPod classic with 3mm connection. And a remote allows me to quickly pause, increase, decrease, or change tracks. Especially since my iPod classic is sitting across the room. I suggest that the Soundlink Mini Bluetooth III should be equipped with a remote.
