Doesn't Get Any Better

I have owned several high end speakers, including the cheaper knockoff and highly overpriced Beats and this is by far the best yet. This speaker is amazing! The sound volume is great and the sound quality is fantastic. The build is awesome as well, very solid and durable speaker. From 1 to 10 in ease of use and set up i give it a 1 (1 being the easiest) Don't believe reviews that say that it is complicated. If you have used bluetooth before then it will be even easier than other items, if you have not then of course it will be tricky but still easy. The bluetooth is literally one button one press and whatever setup is on your phone and you are done. I am very happy and very highly recommend this item.

Great - Except for POWER-ON FLAW

My purchase occurred at Bose.com on 08-June-2015. As an experienced audiophile, the SoundLink Mini II delighted my listening expectations using my favorite test track, "Enamored" by Bella Sonus. However, I can't award this model five (5) stars because of a POWER-ON FLAW... Here's what happens: When not used for a few days (Left fully or partially charged), this model won't respond to a POWER-ON button press... it acts as if the rechargeable BATTERY IS DEAD!!! The only way to "Wake it up" is to start charging it for a few seconds, stop charging and re-try POWER-ON... which works then as it should!

My beautiful 94 year-old Mom loves the sound.

Thank you for your wonderful sound of music. My beautiful 94 year-old Mom loves to watch classical music performances on her iPad. The deep, rich sound of the SoundLink Mini II brings the orchestra into the cozy comforts of her home. One thought: You may want to consider buttons with a "clicking sensation" for each interval of sound. I believe this would give customers more control with the volume and mute settings. Thank you for giving us your best. Merry Christmas!

battery failed with little to no use

My poor mother purchased one of these based on my recommendation, and after less than 2 years of sitting on the dock, on her kitchen counter, getting almost no use, the battery has failed and it no longer turns on at all. I would say she use it about once a month, and my dad thinks its an Alexa and wont go near it. Despite the issue being a clear product failure Bose will not stand by it and repair it. She is now faced with a huge charge to repair a failed product, or to give up on it all together. I now am feeling awful having recommended it to her, thinking that it was a quality speaker, made by a company that stood by its products.

Surprising sound quality. Very satisfied.

I got this about a week ago. I, as well as everyone I have shown it to are impressed by the sound from this speaker. Like others have said, the lows are specially impressive from something so small. I would agree with others that it sounds better on wood surfaces and closer to walls. The bigger the space the hollower the sound. That said, it is still very impressive for the size. I live in a small 600qt foot apartment and it fills the main room nicely. I can feel the bass even across the room. It is MUCH easier to pair then the older version and then the last version of the regular size soundlink. I have had issues with those pairing in the past, but not at all with this one. Also, multiple devices can be paired at once. I love how portable it is as well. Also, the aesthetic design is SO MUCH nicer then something like Beats or JBL. Those ones just look cheap in comparison. Now, it may not be B&O level beautiful, but it's also not B&O price. Over all VERY satisfied.

Small but enough sound for me

So, far I am happy with the mini bose. Even though I knew its a mini/small I still was thinking it was little bit bigger in size. I couldn't make up my mind to buy Bose mini or Sonos Play 1. I love that I can move it around so easily. Some people complained that the charger stopped working too soon. I hope by not over charging it or leaving on the docking station can help last longer. When I charge my labtop once it reaches 100% I take it off the charge until it hits 20%. Now, my daughter once one because she said it sounds better than hers! I told of course it does because she has a cheap one from Walmart. You have to pay $$$$ to get quality sound. Since this is portable you don't really need to buy more through out the house since you can reposition the mini speaker.

Base no Volume

I love the base this littly guy has; however my teenage daughter does not. It was to replace her old Speaker., a Christmas present. I had been waiting a year to find a price like this one, but for some reason the sound level quality I heard in Best Buy a year ago and even the Bose Outlet store in Nashville doesnt seem to be the same for this one. Bose all the way up was level 5 on her Old one. Would recommend but would warn - wont be able to blast - which is that a bad thing? But she's not happy, Im not happy, had to rate it a 2

Great for all use!

I received this speaker as a present two years ago, and have been an avid user ever since. I don't understand how it's not rated 5 stars. Indoor it is amazing. I have two surround sound setups with Bluetooth capability and I still prefer this little guy. The range of sound is amazing, especially the bass (knocking the Beats Pill way out of the water). The connection itself is incredibly easy to setup, and even has an AUX port for those devices that don't have BT. Outside isn't as amazing, but I still have good results. I take it disc golfing and regular golfing, and the performance is still great. In a wide open area it is less impressive with the low range, but still great sound. Lastly, I drive a rock hauler (Caterpillar 769C) in a quarry. I don't have a radio in my truck so I bring my little Bose. It averages between 91-94 decibels at idle, so very loud, and I can hear the Bose no problem at 2/3-3/4 volume whether it be metal or a movie. This thing is awesome and I highly recommend it to anyone in the market for a portable speaker!

Failed after a few days use :(

I bought this speaker on October 1st and on November 10th it quit charging and is not recognized by the Bose updater. In that time it had been packed for over two weeks as we were moving so it had around 15 hours of use. Spoke with support for 30 minutes and they are replacing the speaker which is good but now I'm a little leery of the QC. We'll see after the replacement arrives which I suspect will be a refurbished unit. Not really happy with this product. When it works it sounds great but...caveat emptor.

The best portable bluetooth speaker, period!

First of all I would like to say that I absolutely love this speaker! I have now owned 12 other bluetooth speakers, some were portable and some were not so portable. I love, love, love music! I listen to music every day when I get home from work. Sometimes it's 90s music, sometimes blues and jazz, sometimes it's country. I love all sorts of music and listening to a quality speaker helps me wind down everyday. I own a Harmon Kardon reliever and Klipsch towers for listening to music and watching movies, but what I love about this speaker is that I can use it outside on the deck, or in the bedroom. I actually use it to listen to jazz every night when I go to bed. What I love about this speaker is how the the sound is. It sounds great with every type of music I've listened to, but where it really shines is when I'm listening to vocals and instrumentals. I have never heard a saxophone or trumpet sound so lifelike. The depth and tone of this speaker is just awesome. I could go on and on about how great this speaker is, and how great the battery is, but if you are here reading reviews and trying to decide to buy this or not I seriously urge you to pick one up and try it at home for yourself. What have you got to loose? If it's not the BEST speaker you have ever heard in its size class, then simply return it. If you do decide to buy one though, be prepared to fall in love with it....
