Purchased last week. it had been on sale so grabbed. will still advise to get if you need. used it today and the auger worked great in the sand. was very windy today (Belmar beach, in NJ). Gives great coverage area. Definitely noticed a difference when i took down to go home how hot it had actually been outside.

poor design and not sturdy of you have ANY wind. I'm surprised it's not recalled because of the pointed screw end tip. the upper pole only goes in approximately 2 to 3 inches, which makes it easy to bend or come out. The push button mechanism did not catch easily and would still literally pop out of the pole if any decent breeze blew. we had several people trying to see if it was just user error.. but it was not latching. Thankfully some families nearby had extra umbrellas for us to use, so we would have some type of shade.

We bought the beach chairs and needed a matching umbrella. Don't skip the umbrella! It's very sturdy and holds up well in the wind! Great design all around with the screw bottom and handles to turn it!! Has vented flaps and a tilt option for when the sun moves. Also a nice, comfy carrying case. Very pleased overall with our entire haul! Great job, Sam's!!

This is a nice looking, large beach umbrella. I was initially very pleased with it. However, I got a terrible sunburn after spending a few hours under it on the beach. It has no lining, and I do not believe its claims of SPF are accurate. Be aware, and don’t forget to use sunscreen while using it.

Overall good umbrella but my main complaint is the cheap bags. Please do a stronger material and a strap that doesn’t snap off immediately. The straps break off right away and the bags are a thing material that rips quickly. It all needs to be stronger and I will give it 5 star

Not well designed the vents don't work like they should so it bounces back and forth in the wind. The top of the umbrella moves back and forth and 8 inches in the wind. No other beach umbrellas were doing this. And the plastic folding handles stripped and you couldn't use it anymore. Used once, junk. Returned.

Great sturdy umbrella. Just used in Florida and it held up well! The only complaint I have is that Sam's didn't send me the one I ordered. I ordered the "Ombre" and they sent me the "Floral". I ended up liking it, but they should have sent the correct one. Otherwise it did everything a beach umbrella should do!

Not worth the money. After 7 days at the beach had to throw it in the trash. First day the stitching came apart on the vent top. Then button stuck and could not get umbrella down on several occasions. Last day the metal spokes broke and was not usable. Had to trash it.

The second day of use the ball (knob) that keeps the umbrella poles together broke. The umbrella spines are poorly designed and unattached from the umbrella. Likely will have to trash it.

Bought 3 of these. One was missing the retention pin right out of the bag so it was unusable. The second umbrella broke the 3rd day. The plastic handles used to drive the umbrella into the ground shifted. This meant we could get the two halves of the umbrella together but it took a great deal of effort to get them apart. In all instances, these things are worthless in anything above a slight breeze. Any minor wind (say 3mph) like you find at most beaches causes these to wobble like crazy. They eventually work their way loose and start leaning badly and there's real concern they could become completely dislodged. Note, no one else's umbrella around us was even budging. I'm returning these asap.
